  1. Corrado's have a passive rear wheel steering system from new... basically the whole rear axle is on a bit rubber bush which alllows it to flex and give you the nice rear wheel steering effect..... If these bushes are knackered, then you'll get too much rear wheel steering and get oversteer instead.... :|
  2. Water pump on a G60 is at the bottom front of the block and is behind all of the brackets that hold the super charger and alternator on.... it's an utter git to replace considering what it is.... :| The thermostat lives in the bottom of the pump, but is actually pretty easy to get at... I'll write a "how to" tomorrow morning (sunday) when I'm sober and not falling asleep and post a link here.... 8)
  3. with ya there dazzyvr6, 8) :D
  4. Glad you got it sorted Roger... 8) Problems like this can be a real arse to diagnose over a forum, but everyone's experience helps the next person to overcome their problem that little quicker... 8)
  5. Gavin (H100VW) has also rebuilt G60s before.... 8)
  6. Tom? you're a sod for that! :D  Kev, it's just fror identification purposes so you can work out which is a send and which is a feed.... ;) 8)
  7. Yup, that's the ABS unit... Did you have the ignition switched on when you bled the brakes? You need to with ABS else you'll never get alll the air out... :| Also, there is a bleed nipple on the brake master cylinder on my car... if there's one on yours, bleed this and see what difference it makes to your brakes... 8)
  8. If you know where to look on the internet, you can find wiring diagrams and instructions for a decent much cheaper Taser system which will run off your car battery... ;)
  9. that's my big fear too... :? ;)

    G60 Timing (Sorry!!)

also make sure that the switch on the throttle body for the idle position is closing properly... The bracket it's attached to bends slightly over time so it never closes the switch properly meaning that you get mad idle speeds... ;)
  11. I was on about the water temp gauge being not exactly accurate... ;) The MFA's pretty good for what it is to be fair... 8)
  12. Good questions, kangarooboy 8) The reason you keep the ignition on is that the ABS will self pressurise and effectively bleed itself... 8) You don't need to bleed the clutch master cylinder seperately, it bleeds through the slave cylinder... 8) The brake master cylinder is on the servo (big round metal thing) and is indeed the one with the reservoir on top of it... Mine's got a bleed nipple there, so I bled it last as it's the highest point in the system so the air will rise to it as you go along... If you've got one, bleed it, if not, then it probably hasn't got one for a good reason... ;) 8)
  13. hummm.... now you've got me thinking... ;) :D There are some spare outputs on it you can activate via text message.... ;)
  14. too late... It's HERE Right click and save as please... 8)
  15. Might be messy if you kill the engine while the theiving toe rags are doing 100+ mph on a motorway  That's why you text it first to find out how fast it's going! ;) The way mine's wired in, it won't kill the engine until they get it to a reasonable lowish speed... but it will cut the performance something chronic.... ;)
  16. The tank I drove still rates as one of my favourites.. ;) Would have been fun on the roads... Clamp that ya fu@~£rs! 8) I was lucky enough to take a Ferrari 348 GTB (with the plate A 348 GTB ! 8) ) out for a spin one lunchtime when I was 18 'cos it was owned by a friend of mine who I'd just managed to save a shed load of money... sods law that I managed to not see anyone I knew as I cruised through town though... :| Lovely to drive though, and OH! what an engine note... I just wish I could have given it a bit and had some fun with it... ;) 8) I've driven lots of different Porsches (356 A and B, 924, 928, 944, 911, 912 and 914) and took a mate's dad's Bentley out for a drive once too... 8)
  17. £350 all in... ;) http://www.TrakM8.com

    G60 Belt Cover

that pic looks familiar... ;) the belt you need to talc will be the one closest to you in that pic... it's the small one at the bottom of the engine... You'll probably find that the talc trick will only work for a few hours with the weather being what it is at the moment... I'll have some tools with me tomorrow, so if you ask me nicely I may tighten it up for ya... ;) 8)
  19. ...and I'm a broadcast engineer who has to work out how to stop interference whenever I install some new equipment.... ;) Personally, I'm pretty happy that if anyone should steal my car, then the paging message it'll send me will alert me to the fact, and the text message I send it back (which will kill the engine) should stop them from getting too far... oh, and the GPS location in the first text will let me know where they are so I can report it to the police... 8) :D
  20. Yeah, but so will the aftermath of a good curry!  ;) They're not exactly the best made piece of electronics on the planet... ;)
  21. I thought stevemac's suggestion was for replacing the ingnition lock barrel tho? Yeah, Steve's was, but there's another comment in there too... :) *edit* Page 2, comment by Whitee about being 6'3 and still managing to do it without taking the seat out... 8)
  22. ah-ha! I think we may have just found another Corrado common problem... mice does it as well.... About 3K rpm and it's starting to do my head in...
  23. plenty of tin foil around the ECU and wiring with it earthed to the car's bodywork will stop this from killing your ECU...
  24. any mobile phone masts/ big satellite dishes close by the points it stalls at?!? ;)
  25. yeah, you can do it without removing the seats... I was taking mine out anyway when I did my switch, so I wrote it up exactly as I did it... If you read on in that thread a little further, there's someone's comment about doing it without removing the seat... 8)
