  1. I'm beginning to think that this may have just been a dodgy cap... I can't grasp how the rotor arm could do that to a cap if it wasn'd dodgy... :? You've got me there... I've no ideas...
  2. I take it these are the red bottom, smoked top rear lights? If so then, yup, I'm well interested... 8) I may as well do another mod while my C's off the road!
  3. It's getting there... I've had some problems with the guy who owns the shop next door to my house who's decided he wants to turn it into a restaurant/bar and Hotel! So I've been busy drumming up support from my neighbours to object to the plans and going to all sorts of planning meetings and talking to the town's Civic society to try and get the plans thrown out... Think I'm winning so far! I reckon that it'll still be ready for Feb 22nd (DubFreeze) and anything before then is a bonus... 8) I've just sent a load of the engine bits off for powdercoating so all work on the engine has stopped again, but it'll make the finished car sooooo much better  The bumper's not had much done yet. I've been trying to get hold of a sheet of ABS plastic the same thickness as the hole where the vents are so I can weld 'em up, and I should be getting that later this week so I can get cracking on the bumper this weekend. I also had a close run in with my Charger... I decided that it'd be a good idea to get Darren (G-Man) to give it a quick once over, and I'm damned glad I did! All of the bearings had thrown their grease out and were shot, and the Apex seal had shrunk and wasn't looking too clever! This is on a charger that's got less than 16K in 14 months after a full Stage 4 from a certain other tuning company who's reputation is rapidly turning to $#![£... So, a mild porting later to match it to my new outlet for my new intercooler and a bit of a rebuild later, I should be safe for a while... Thanks to Darren! 8) It's been a bit of a long term project this now... 22weeks off the road and counting... :?
  4. It's also a health risk mate  yeah, probably... But then, so is my Corrado... The stress factor from it over the 6 months have probably knocked years off my life!  I do reckon that the de-stressing that I'll get from the grin I'll have when I drive it again will make up for it though! :D
  5. Mine's pretty nasty too, but only that front bit, not the bit the rad sits on... As I say, AFAIK, Awesome's still got one in their storage place... 8)
  6. I've just deleted the other version of this thread that was causing some confusion... 8) Just so you all know, and don't think that you're going any more mad than you already may, or may not, be...

    bonnet hinges

Drill time... I had a look at mine last night, but it was too dark to photo it. I'm pretty certain that it's basically a very large rivet so you'd need to drill it out or drill a hole close by that you can mount the lifter onto... Let us know how you get on, it's a mod that I'm planning on doing, but can't do yet as I need to keep my bonnet shut and there's no slam panel (or front end for that matter!) on my car yet... 8) Good luck! 8)
  8. Black wheels - :pukeleft: Split wheels - 8) I like the idea of doing the C's faces silver and the edges in a darker colour though, that could look really good... :) Of course, this is my own opinion only...
  9. There's always one... And it's normally Kev...

    Con Rods

I'm using standard G60 rods in my 1940CC G60. The general consensus of all of the tuning companies I talked to before the rebuild was that the G60 rods are adequate for just about anything until you start sticking in silly amounts of boost. 8)

    G Werks

P-M (personal message) him here, he's G-man and is on quite often... :)
  12. Very, very nice... 8) Looking at that second photo though, I'd agree that the tax disk holder needs to go in the bin, and I'd guess that a headlamp upgrade loom will make things lots brighter for you!
  13. Also it sounds like your linkage cables need re-setting as they are slightly too far out of adjustment. Not difficult / expensive to sort out either, also think about getting the gearbox oil changed, as this often causes problems with 1st when cold... 8)
  14. Should I be scared now?!? :-P  Part number (just found it in a note from Gav from AGES ago...) 535-199-171 D for early G60 cars, G for all later models... No idea what the difference is, I just know mine had a G in it as standard... 8) Hope this helps... 8)
  15. green = oxidised = high resistance = probably worth changing it! 8) Part number is: 357-971-235C for chassis upto 50-p-003-300 535-971-235B for later chassis numbers. I can't help you as to where your earth strap attaches to the gearbox as I've never had or worked on a VR so I don't know the answer... :? Sorry... 8)
  16. you mean the red bit in the pic below? I have no idea off hand what the part number is, but I know that Awesome's got one for sale... Have a word with H100VW (Gavin). He was trying to sort it for me before I decided that I'm gonna hack the hell outta my original one to make room for the front mount I/C behind the modified RS4 bumper... He may still know if they've got it and how much they want for it... 8) If you're fitting a front mount and an RS style bumper, I'd advise just chopping out the rotten bit at the front leaving the lower rad mounts intact and giving you extra room for the I/C... Mine's basically gonna get cut along the bottom of the section that makes up the rad mount box section so that that's the furthest point forward on the panel... 8) Although, I'm waiting for the I/C to arrive so I can make sure that doing that leaves enough metal to mount it to!
  17. Possibly, depends (jumping firmly onto the bandwagon) on the price.... :? Mines a little bit rippled (without a flat underside!) and I'm still wondering wether to replace or repair it... :?

    bonnet hinges

I'll have a look at mine tonight when I get home... I was under the impression that you just unbolt it with a spanner to remove the bonnet itself... :? Have you got the MKIII bonnet lifters? I've got a set too, so I'll see how to fit 'em tonight and let you know. 8)
  19. *cough* it's HenNy! *cough* The guy's not been back to me yet... something about christmas rushes and lots to do...  I know that the system will work well, it's used on enough cars as standard that if it didn't work, then there'd be a lot of people with invisible needles at night!  I just need to get costs from him for making up 50 sets of needles. He's got the needles off my spare G60 clocks to use as templates and he's trying to work out the best way of making them out of a clear plastic with a black shroud... 8) As soon as I know, I'll post up the results... 8)
  20. ...and I'll get the needles sorted too... 8)
  21. yay! fotos! 8) From both links too! 8) Looks like it was a busy day... have you got any figures for yours?
  22. I just get: Error ymdb_err-16 When I try that link... :(
