Hi there! Missing the car a little now, but on a happier note, the rear seats are almost finished. Just some fine tuning with heat and a clean needed. The undertrays are almost finished and I have some photos of progress. The vent inserts will be trimmed he haqsnt got round to doing them but hes had fun doing the under trays. So the entire car would have been retrimmed except the front seats. More or less, the interior will be complete once I find some front recaros. Working out with the trimmer if we can avoid re screwing through the leather to mount the under trays. Have a few ideas and will see what it looks like first. Question - are the seat height adjustment pull levers the same for Recaro front seats and standard leather seats? You can probably guess why I ask? The rear seats backs have been trimmed in Alcantara which will blend in when the boot area is trimmed in Alcantara. I cant wait to have her back and to finally have the enterior all back in. Its been nearly a year and a half with missing bits here and there and have never fully appreciated the interior.

3rd or is it 4th time lucky? Car now back at the body shop. Spent some time with the painter and discussed the problems and solutions and he will wash the car down tomorrow and fully inspect it and mark it out. The cills are being taken to metal so they are completely smooth, they have never been right, some bits are perfectly smooth and some you see the rubber coating below coming through. On the hunt for a slam panel so I can have this soda cleaned powder coated and painted and at the same time my spare bonnet will be stripped and resprayed and will keep a spare bonnet. One for best! Going to see if the last bit of roof sinkage will come out if not, the roof is being re done. The complete driver side and passenger side will be re done. Also the deleted side repeaters have started to rust out on one side so that's being cut out and re welded and painted. Will check the passenger side deleted repeater to make sure that's sealed in otherwise it's just going to rust from the inside out. The painter spotted that in his defence. I've said to keep the car as long as you need it as I want it done right once and for all. Sooner or later she will be back with a punch!

I don't believe it is. I've seen other c's with them sitting straight up neatly into the washer bottle. Anyone know if they list different bracket holders? The threaded metal that the nut secures onto looks original otherwise I would have another hole or something that showed its moved as there's no adjustment.

Dont those wires join up just below the connector in the picture below? You can just make out the terminals in the top of it. Probably need to re crimp that connector. It's sandwiched between the hose again just below where your holding the wiring. That controls vacuum I believe or something along those lines and could be why you have problems.

Mine has never sat tightly into the recessed area of the washer bottle. I bough a second hand one from here and thought maybe my bracket had a shorter arm where it fixes down to the inner wing at the top. Went to fit it and the bolt holes dont line up. My original bracket has been bent out and the new spare bracket was straight but neither make my power steering bottle straight. It leans slightly forward away from the washer bottle. Any ideas why? Its like the top fixing point is too far forward... It's bugged me since I bought the car. I had to re install my original and I've just bolted the fixing half on the thread and half off just to make it straighter but can't get an accurate reading from the ps bottle.

Love looking a mirror paint work, especially on the rado. Have you got a picture of the front end with the chrome Vw badge? Either on the colour coded grill or black grill?

I have a throttle cable and foam insulation which is mint condition. Just debating on keeping it or not? Will get back to u with a price and once I find where the throttle cable is. Rams

When I got my c the driver seat was not heating up. The element is very thin and loops around the seat and back to join it self which has a soldered join... Not difficult to remove the leather from the seat and you can clean up other difficult to reach areas. Mine would buzz and make a weird noise from the relays in rear door card. Here's the tip... If you need to grab something from inside or in the passenger footwell from the driverside, try and avoid nealing on the seat as this could be why the soldered part comes away. It's almost centre of the seat base where the join is.

I will pop down now and take some pictures. Tyre depths, again, will double check but all of them have very good tread, almost look hardly worn from memory and they tryres alone of this quality are rather expensive. Think they are escalto sports 2's. The wheels were on the car when i boight them and they were all in horrid condition, straight and true but all the paint was blistering and bubbling and the badges were in poor shape. So bought brand new original bbs centre caps and had the wheels powder coated and re balanced/tyre valves etc. If you look closely, there are some dimpled areas. Somewhere in the members thread you can see them from when I took pics after they were done and look great but close up they are not perfect if thats what you are looking for? Great. I am happy to go for a cheaper system if that helps peoples decisions specially if we get a blinding deal so we can get something of better quality at a much reduced price. There was a post earlier today where some builders got aload of glue on his C and he said he cant proove anything. If he was able to look back, and see then he could do something about it.

I did appear like I was taking over! lol and didnt hear anything till your post about not doing it correctly so I battled on through. By the last post you corrected you were probably stabbing the table with a sharp knife!

Would there be enough interest to do a group buy if we can get the discount/numbers up? The remote viewing is very appealing and that way we can all see our machines at a flick of a few buttons. I would be happy to input time to deal with the companies to agree a lower price etc once we know what people may opt to go for. The tec side, you guys can figure out. If you said, Rams, these are excellent value, this is the best price we can get, I will better the price. Within reason obviously.

How frustrating. I run a property maintenance/management company and if any of my guys did that I would fire them on the spot! I really think CCTV is the way forward as mentioned in a recent post. We love our cars so much for them to be spolit. Sorry to read your news. Maybe group buy CCTV ststem?
