Got my tickets for Friday.... never been, really looking forward to it.... any tips. I'm guessing it will be an early start for me. -
orig laserline alarm on the VR is starting to play up. going off at random. I don't have time to fix it as I have to catch a flight tonight. I guess it's going to cause problems for the neighbours for a few days..... cars in a locked garage..... other than any insurance issues cars sorn..... can I just disconnect the battery and leave it..... if I do will it cause me any problems when I reconnect it. what happens to the central locking etc......

I guess your selling it then !

Anyone bought a Bentley manual recently. Noticed the latest edition is hardback not the paper back version. Was wondering if the content had a major difference. Or it was just a re print.
-
either skf or snr are fine. I bought skf recently from ebay if you go the skf route you need VKBA 529 for a VR rear bearing

doesn't sound too out of the way, did they have to take the rim off the car ???... it's cheaper if you pay in beer tokens, just get one of the lads to do it in their lunch hour on a Friday afternoon. I had one done a few years ago in exchange for a big mac meal :)

I may plan to go if it dries up a bit.... not looked at the forecast for the weekend yet

I paid £17950 for mine in 1996

if you add up what people spend on their cars to keep them running. you certainly are not in it for resale value. it's only worth what a buyer is prepared to pay. prices have been rock bottom for last few years, but slowly on the way up.

Thank you.

What sort of torque should they be ? Should you use thread lock or even copper slip on the thread if they are a bugger to remove.

Veedubmachine rear disk, bearings and pads kit
delfinis38 replied to GusPW's topic in Suppliers Forum
Bearings from the dealer are about 35 quid each carrier bolts are 3quid each abs ring is 17 each. We had a discussion on bearings a few weeks ago and it was discussed that orig fit was snr or SKF. I bought SKF in the end. And pagid pads to go with orig disks. If you look on euro parts website you should be able to get snr bearings and pagid pads with 25 or 20 percent discount. At the moment. Sorry cant give you any more detail on bearing spec as I,m not at home. I'm in a windy wet mallorca for the month. -
Veedubmachine rear disk, bearings and pads kit
delfinis38 replied to GusPW's topic in Suppliers Forum
I bought a set as an impulse buy. Bearing quality and pad quality looked rubbish so I bought new bearings and pads from euro parts...... A job like this is only worth doing once every 20k plus so best buy decent parts as it will cost more in the long run. -
yup I know..... still on my tea break ! distracted doing work related things now :(
-
just taken a picture of the rado as it's out of the garage for a clean.... thought some of you may be interested. (awaiting comments on the 4x4 offroad corrado look)
-
Cheers chaps.... Some good detailed info as usual

Just about to fit new brakes front and rear. Unfortunately I can't see myself using the car again this year... Too many projects on the go.... For some reason I've got it in my mind that I've seen people (KIP) spray the brake disk surface (where the pads touch) with primer or similar to stop them rusting during storage. I'm hoping I'm not talking rubbish..... Seems a shame to put disks on to let them go rusty. Am I right in my thinking ?? If so how do you remove the paint after, when recommissioning back on the road ????

cheers jim...... amazon had a run on them last night they had 2 in stock and all sold this morning :)
-
Out of interest does the manual give full exploded diagrams. I was thinking about a new one from amazon last week and wondered if it was worth 80 quid new considering I'm in this corrado ownership for another 17 years at least !
