thanks that's great ! just found them .

Yup I guess a full flush I've lost a lot of fluid when I changed all the pipes and flexi's. Hope your flexi's come off easier than mine. the axle pivots caused me grief and the top of the front flexis's I guess they were original 17 year old and seized. I have about 1.5litres of dot4 but i'm going out to buy another 5 litres.... so I can flush a few litres through. keep us updated on your progress.

That would be really helpful to me as we'll. doing mine tomorrow when my new calipers turn up. Need to get some more fluid first as I only have a litre. Think I,m worrying to much about doing mine. It,s taken me a week on and off to get all my pipes changed and calipers and carriers tarted up !

thanks for the heads up.... I realised when I found it wasn't a standard pitch and I had no tap for it :) decided not to buy a tap and seal kit in the end and have order a set of refurbed pagid calipers from euro parts. which work out to be about £50 quid each after discount and the return of my old units. VW only have O/S to order now N/S is now obsolete.

Cheers, going to make a few phone calls this morn before I finally decide.

Thanks for the offer. However I have a set which I sheared the drivers side bleed nipple off today. I,ve manager to drill it out but not tapped it yet. I,m assuming when I put the tap in, the thread will be rather slack. I,ve looked into refurbing these or another set and finally decided to either invest in a new set from veedub or a remanufactured set from euro or vw spares.

Was their a difference in the front calipers fitted on a VR6 through the years ???? I have lucas with 54mm pistons with vented discs 22mm thick europarts are listing 2 different types up to year 1993 vented 22mm and 20mm solid disc... my cars a 1995 model with vented discs..... I assume if I buy a caliper from a 1993 car it will fit a 1995 as long as its for a vented 22mm disc. europarts didn't know when I asked.

I've spent the last few weeks changing some of the brake pipes and all of the hoses on the VR6. Also fitted new disks pads and calipers all round. Whilst changing the pipes and hoses I've lost quite a bit of fluid from the pipes, and new pipes are empty of fluid. I'm just trying to think ahead of myself now working round all the possibilities of getting fluid back into the system. I guess I should of clamped some of the pipes. I've read some of the guides on here on bleeding brakes and have a eezibleed. Is putting fluid back into a dry-ish system different to a standard fluid change.... what problems am I likely to encounter or am I worrying about nothing :) awaiting advice from the experts.......

Mk4 carriers have a different pitch. so don't fit ! Re:- seized carrier bolts just done mine this afternoon soaked in WD and plus gas then used erwins to get them out.... worked a treat the new carrier bolts are about 3 squid each from VW as they are hi tensile.

If no interest at £50 posted. I would be interested at between £35 - £40 posted. I,m just about to order one from amazon however at £50 posted I,d just go and buy a new one. It,s only worth half the value to me second hand. -
G13 From the dealers then.

Still head scratching after a search.... Which coolant should I be using in my vr ..... G12++ or G13 I guess know one uses G11 as the manual says these days And how many litres

Doing a bit of a brake overhaul on the rear. Flexi on the axle pivot on the passenger side is proving to be a bit of a pain. Orig 17 year old pipe. The pipe is seized into the flexi on the brake pressure reg end and I,ve rounder the nut off. Easiest thing to do now is remove the pipe and flexi as a whole from the brake reg end and replace the pipe. It,s only a short run from the flexi to the brake comp. so need to get something made up. Any idea what's best never done it before. I know supercharged used to make pipe up. But I,m thinking either buy the gear to to it myself, see if my local factors will make me a pipe or find a local garage. I assume you can't buy ready bent pipe from vw ? And what sort of grade pipe do I need.

delfinis38 replied to Jamie's topic in General Car Chat
A set of brand new boxed speedlines..... and a corrado with less than 40k on the clock in the garage. that must be rare.... keeping quite about the rest of my bits n bobs :) -
Whats the average life of plugs in a VR just done 24K on this set. When to change ???? have pulled them out all electrodes look fine, all are covered in carbon deposit (maybe too rich a fuel mixture) number 5 has slightly white tips (maybe too low a fuel octane).
-
hats off to you then . well done.

Was it worth a grand of your time and effort ????

Hmmm nice.... re photos I have the same problem when taking pictures with my ipad and up loading them from my desktop.... -
I had a nose on the sports direct site out of interest. My theory is spend as much as you can afford you only have one head.

I guess the answer is what ever feels comfy for you to wear and it,s something you are going to want to wear. Always buy one with an internal shell not one of these cheap foam ones, but I guess anything is better than nothing. Make sure it's got some sort of ratchet mechanism at the back for adjustment. And adjustment under he chin. Not many people know that lids have used by dates, maybe a manufactures ploy but materials do break up over time.

bargain then... thanks for the heads up
