Rears from vw are not obsolete. I bought a set at a silly price last month from my dealer. The fronts however are. Go for golf mk4 calipers but you will need good ridge conversion hoses as they are banjo connections. Standard rear calipers tend to seize and the handbrake mechanism is carp. Whatever's route you choice have a look at vwspares for parts

is it me or do the badges on the rear of this one, don't quite look the part... assume R32 badge and VW badge grafted in the rear valance. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/volkswagen/corrado/vw-corrado-storm--r32--1995/1720812#

Okay £30 delivered. Pending picture and none of the brushed chrome has started to rub off. Put the new rear chrome vw badge in with that and I will give you £50 posted for both badges. Does it have the black plastic backing with it -

Interested in the corrado script in brushed chrome which you describe as excellent condition for £30. Can you clarify it,s mint condition and original vw item. How about £27.50 delivered pending picture and clarification of above ? -
buy some chrome paint an have a go on something plastic first.... I tried chrome paint on the rear vw badge. it looked very pants and was more of a matt chrome finished that went weird after a few days out in the elements.

aerial measurement on revel model please [the mrs broke it ]
delfinis38 replied to robrado974's topic in General Car Chat
It's 18mm above the roof line. Don't forget to angle the aerial back a bit. -

assume the corrado script has fixings in tack and is brushed chrome effect not painted...... what are the letters like cant see in the picture if there is any wear in the brushed chrome. a better description / picture would be better. -

Do I have the correct Fluids for a 1994 Corrado with a MK4 VR6 engine?
delfinis38 replied to almeidk's topic in Engine Bay
Castrol gearbox oil is called syntrans transaxle now. Did mine a few weeks again. It,s the correct vw spec 505 or whatever it is. Takes about 1.5 litres for a manual box. good advice as usual David. -
Ha ha I was thinking fag lighter..... Especially as no loom upgrade and orig bulbs.
-
headlight out and bulb out.... only the bottom screw was rusty which I will change. had already changed top screws. looks like I have a bit of polishing to do behind headlight and front grill :) currently have a Phillips H4 12342, what should I replace with upgraded bosch osram or Phillips any recommendations.
-
had a quick look at changing a headlight bulb last night under torch light but gave up as it was too dark.... managed to get the cap of from the rear, but could not get the bulb out any tips (didn't try too hard as it was too dark).... or do I need to remove the complete headlight unit. will have another look before it gets dark.

round about £60 delivered from either eurocarparts or cp4l on an exchange basis for a remanufactured caliper from pagid. you need their latest discount code.... think its somethink like MOT25 or parts25 vwspares don't think stock them anymore, but worth a look on the net.

Mines only done 40k, I've only got 5 stamps in the book. Refuse to pay dealer servicing cost and do most things my self unless its major. Then it will go to a vw specialist. Don,t really see the benefit now of main dealer servicing on a car this old. It's out of warrantee. Keep your receipts and try and use vw parts or good quality parts. I have 2 arch lever folders full and have my own service record book / diary where I write down every thing I do from oil changes / parts bought for car / obsovations / wash polish etc. What's the dealers hourly rate these days £80/hour ?

Is there anyway you can take a cross section of the profile of both wings at a given point to compare. I was thinking something like a flexi curve. But being crude some stiff electrical wire would give you a good indication of profile.
