delfinis38 replied to Milg60's topic in General Car Chat
My VR is like this. the cars Blue but where it's stamped it's a grey prima colour.... I know itt's not a cut and shut as i've had it since neeeeeeeeeeeeeew :D -
Green flavour Rado (non Storm) stonked it past me on the wendover bypass yesterday afternoon.... waz it U ?
-
Actually i quite like it standard and plan to keep it that way... It's only a joke as people on here normally tease me about it :D hey with a speedline in the boot it might lower the car a tad :D as for your rims. i rather like the look of those rims too... so your not nuts.
-
Lowest mileage quite possibly..... but highest in suspension height as it's standard and looks like a 4x4 :D
-
......and chapettes :) Oooops sorry Butterfly.... was thinking it was your other half..... :D
-
thanks chaps.... with this info in mind i'll have a ring round.

Hi.. just bought a single speedline for a spare wheel. It's straight with no damage but could do with stripping and powder coating. can anyone give me an idea of cost to get one powdercoated, I don't want to pay too much or get ripped off. also does anyone know what the origional speedline colour is ???? I was thinking of getting it done either at prestine alloy wheels in bucks or there's a place in segensworth / fareham hampshire that i've just spotted on the web as i'm quite often in the neck of the woods.... any other suggestions for refurb places in bucks / hampshire, and approx cost would be great. Ta.

agree they all do. when the ignition is in position 1 and the engine not running. you should get a sequence of two lights think from memory it's battery or maybe coolant on the left that flashes then goes out then oil on the right, which will flash until the engine is started. as long as you have no warning lights on when the engine is on your fine. okay 3 light if you have the hand brake on :brickwall:

yup just spotted that on ebay.... thanks

what are you using these days ?

do you need a trade card to purchase from TPS ?

should i be using Quantum Synta or Platinium in the VR these days... ??? My VW dealer only sells the platinium stuff 5w-40. fully synth however vwspares sell both. from my records when serviced at VW in the past they used Synta which is the semi synth stuff 10w-40.... or does it matter as they both are VW505.00 I guess i should be using the search here :brickwall:

changed the clock to BST :D -
It's not like it's a pattern wing, a genuine VAG one should fit with no effort at all. I've never taken a wing off.. are they just bolted on ?? do they have any locating pins ?? I know you have to heat the old one up to remove due to all the sticky sealant behind. but i uess if its not a pattern it should be okay in the right hands.
-
I'm split down the middle on new / old wing.... my only concern's would be the new wing not lining up correctly. but if the garage is skilled enough it should be no problem. I guess it's an easier job to knock the old one out and fill where required and cheaper.

mysterious Stud between exhaust and fuel filter on a VR... any ideas what it's for ??? am i missing something ???
-
RE:- wheels.... you can buy a tool to do it.... or do what i did whip the car down to your local tyre place and get them to do it..
-
I love the arrows too... however i went for a set of arrow sport on my 16valve when i had her... these were 17's with standard setup. but i'm guessing you just want the arrows.... I bought these new with my first real wage packet ! I always think 5 leg alloys look odd on a 4 pin hub

Full respray on a car with that mileage. That would put me off. It says partial respray ???? even i have a few stone chips on my bonnet ! I agree about the respray would rather look at a few bumps and bangs, makes it look like a genuine car the interior looks mint... I like the price tag ! you guys should be encoraging it, keeps the value of your motors up too !
-
I'd best buy five new rims and tyres... just incase they all have flat spots !

thanks chaps willl report back..
