Does anyone have a Sony CDX 4100 RDS cd player with green illumination they don't want ? It was an original fit in a VR in 1995 / 1996. don't really want to pay too much as most have been well used and the facia buttons don't last long. I have an Alpine for normal daily use. They rarely come up on ebay. and if they do the person doesn't know the colour of the illumination or if it works.

this is something that grates me... too many people say it's not worththat much... if this is the case prices of our cars will never rise.... but i guess were not in it for value It's the LUV we show :)

Mmmmmmmmmmm Nice :(

bring on the price rise... rado's have been going too cheap recently. And most people knock the price in the adverts. hope my VR's not worth £1600 notes :) I paid C.20K for it in 1997 great if your selling but not buying

seized calliper.... been their done that on the rear. mine smoked too... I managed to get mine working again by winding the pistons in and out numerous times with the aid of some rubber greese. I was about 8miles from home when it happened drove it home very slowely stopping numerous times to check it wasent glowing. best of luck. It's normally caused by irregular use of the car. mine was the rear so i leave the car in the garage with the handbrake off and in gear.

that thickness shoul fit... do you have a piston winding tool ?

Tom the parts man have a yellow Corrado, so is keen as mustard Cheers.... Just spent an hour taking the dam thing apart... too over engineered. I have a part number of 535 863 284 A for the facia plate

I've only ever removed the VW badge which just pulls out okay. I've not done either the Corrado or VR badges which i think are just stuck on... However i was recommended to saw them off using some fishing line.... *** note i've never tried it... just an idea and recommendation.

okay been having a play this morning and think I've sort of superglued it back together but doubt it will hold... but can anyone advice if i'm missing bits. It looks like the centre pin has sheered which holds the spring clamp and the white plastic lug in place, these were the bits that fell out. (I'm guessing the two bits were slid over the brass / bronze shaft then the shaft was bent over like a rivit to hold them on). does anyone have a part number please.
-
cheers dude thanks for the kind offer.... I'll have a look at it when the weather warms up abit first. A job for next year at a guess... happy new year to you when it arrives.

thank you I'll have a look at some point and may even invest in a new one.

Ooops I've just broken my ligher socket (not that i smoke, I was trying my new phone charger out). I pulled the charger out and also found a clip attached to the phone socket. can't see how the clip fits in now - any ideas. think it might have something to do with the spring mechanism to indicate the ligher socket is hot enough to light a fag.....
