mot passed :-) turned out to be a slight dead spot on the throttle pot,so many a part later its passed. i realy wanted a paintless dent removal guy to come and get some tiny marks out of the doors i missed when i painted it,i guess they were just too small for me to feel or see but they could be easy removed, this will have to wait now i spent so mutch on bits i dint realy need, the downside of no vag com. few bits left to sort,if anyone has a go at a headliner covering make sure you use heat resistant contact adhesive,i didnt and the roofliner fell off when the sun got the roof hot. now need my wheels 20 days late so far. still many bits to do but thats it till winter going to get some miles done in it. zorst could do with a polish

i have that system im using d in the middle,b as you show for the back box and then a powerflex one very similar to a. i have found the vag ones are stretching so im just looking for 2 more powerflex ones so then it will all be powerflex and then just that one mounting b.. i can get the powerflex number if you want but there expensive. if that helps

on the lenso ones the finsh doesnt last all the laqure bubbles around every bolt unless they sorted it out i had one the first sets around and they only lasted a few months before they started bubbling.

its failed again after a new lambda it will pass the hc test but co is still high, its only dropped a little. did injector cleaner, shell vmax and gave it a good blasting. it seems its main over fueling is at idle. :( :(
-
at its last mot it failed so i fit the cat and it passed,im wondering if its just because it hasnt been run i was driving it before mot and it seems fine pulls strong etc. i dont understand the numbers on the mot sheet,is it just a bit off passing or miles? i could try sum fuel system cleaner? its annoying the rest is sorted and drives spot on but i need to get the mot so i can tax it.

its failed its mot on emissions everything else was fine but im struggling to sort it, i think its running pretty rich the plugs look that way there isnt many sensors on a qpeng loom anyway, i fit 4 new coil packs, plugs and temp sensor that only leves the lambda probe i think. it has a cat on that got it through its mot last time,i then took it off so thats as new. does anyone understand this fail sheet is it running realy rich? its not using oli or water and no exhaust smoke but i can hear it missing a bit. the mot fail sheet says engine speed 2450-2850 limit reading co max 0.30% 0.71% fail hc max 200ppm 315ppm fail lambda 0.97-1.03 0.98 pass second fast idle is very similar natural idle test engine speed 750-1050 co max 0.50% 7.95% fail could it be a faulty lambda probe? any ideas. cheers

looking for a decent numberplate plinth cheers

your local paint supplier mite have something? like i say always had an airfed one so i just throw that on along with gloves etc, so cant realy advise on the mask situation ,good luck with the bonnet if you take your time im sure you will get a decent job.
-
i have never had it go off in the gun to be honest i dont think u will have a problem with that, when i just did my whole shell i just mixed enough clear at a time. it will obviously set in your gun if you leave it overnight so you need to get the gun clean after,to give you an idea i have to do my sunroof tmrw night,i recon it will take me an hour tops from basecoat to finished. i havnt realy used anything exept airfed masks 2k is pretty lethal,a charcoal one may work but i also wear a suit as it can get in to you blood through your skin. they sell these on ebay-like i said never used one Gerson 2K Disposable Paint Spray Respirator Face Mask i think you will find the 2k to be far worse than the base if you breath it in or it goes near your eyes.
-
ah sound,i arnt a painter but i have done alot of cars so i may be able to help or im sure a painter will advise. the base coat is thinned 1/1 so you want to lay base coat on letting all the thinner flash off at every coat so it always appears dry it will never cover any marks in your primer, going heavy will make the metalic patchy.getting it realy wet will increase your chances of reactions as the solvents get trapped. once thats layed on and appears dry then i have always gone straight on with the clear, same applies if you jet it on your going to run,you lay on some light misting coats/grip coats slowly building up to final passes, you have to let the clear start to tack off as your building coats.i normaly can feel it going tacky,if i stick my finger on a masked part i can feel it sticking rather than just been wet. id wear a good mask mate 2k isnt good for you
-
hi there whats the condition of the numberplate plinth is it broken anywhere? thanks tim
-
looking good mate,do you have a run in the basecoat? if so you may find that you dont want the basecoat to be appearing wet,so apply light coats letting each one flash off rather than blasting base coat on, you would have to be going heavy to get runs in base coat, also depending what make/type of base coat you may only have a certain amount of time to apply the clearcoat for it to bond to the base. what are your materials?
-
are you doing this with a can or gun? if your on a gun and that ring is just down to the primer, i would go over that with a sander to remove any flakey bits , then key the whole lot to be painted with 600 grit, etch prime any bear metal, then high build prime using the primer to fill that in rather than filler, then flat away until the whole lot is level.

Classic wheel ,I bought a set for my first corrado about ten year ago, found another set a few years ago but they were too bent to save, love the car ,super clean example
