are you sparaying it yourself? you mite be better with a paint supplier rather than ebay.autopaintsbrighton have a website they mite also be on ebay. alot of it comes down to what make you like to spray. mipa, ici nexa, standox, lechler all the base coats i have used have been fine id say ici nexa good coverage 2k clear i like u pol,hb body for the price, upol slightly easyer to work after for the price of upol on ebay may be worth a shot i have used it for years and always got good results and stayed in great shape over time. bumpers nexa thinned with mipa stabiliser then upol 20:80 sr super fast hardner body nexa thinned with mipa stabiliser then hb body 496 sr-polar hardner sprayed at around 20 degrees, air dry, stabiliser due to colour. below is gun finish and flat and buffed finish

yea the main engine mount will bolt off the 9a and the holes are all in the 20v block to remount them only thing i had to do was bend the turbo oil return pipe to miss the 9a mount, the position of that pipe mite depend what turbo you are using
-
mines been running 270 hp through a standard 9a everthing for years no probs its on standard genuine vw mountings and clutch . and yea the box bolts straight on

thanks all and cheers for the pics, had to change the cv boot after edition 38 as it sprayed grease all over my arches on the run home, its been parked up since then while i went on holiday so just took it out for a run. doesnt seem to need anything looking at after the rebuild it all runs well so mite just get a second set of rear lights to tint red and it will probably end up sat in the garage over winter.

thanks mate! few pics from the weekend. we went to vw action as i still love splitscreens etc and 1/4mile,remeberd my helmet as i wanted a few runs, and forgot my driving licence :-( so the car stayed at the tent, camping was a bad idea had no sleep. we saw a few edition 38 show signs on the way in to santa pod and i joined that forum a few week ago so we decided to drop in as it was so close. i still see the minor defects as i did it all so i didnt enter it at vw festival but the mrs persuaded me and also cleaned it. as we were leaving one of the judges stoped us,to tell us it had won something. well supprised it came second rado as there was so many nice ones i realy never expected it would win anything been a diy car. won a nice trophy and some cleaning gear. cheers vick and bally from edition 38 realy nice guys as we had no idea what to expect we have no pictures of it if anyone took any and can send me them be great.

you some how use that button thing to enter a set up menu where you can turn stuff like that on or off, theres instruction manuals on the clifford site if you know what it is,i changed myn years ago when i got the car as the previous owner had it fitted and can remember it been a real pain.
-
if you have a clifford alarm thats used to type in a code for an anti hijack thing myn has one on, you also set the alarms modes with it, myns turned off its a pain having to type a sequence in to it or the car turns off after so many seconds when you press the brakes

thanks all very nice coming from the owners of some very nice cars:),sorry if i didnt meet you the mrs took me on penguin tour so say hi next time :) friday it was at the rolling road getting the ecu read and base map sorted and all the injectors cleaned and to see how it was running,on its second setting its got a boost spike of 1.8bar so the ecu is back on its way to qpeng as they have since done various updates to fix this as myns now 3.5 years old they are updating it for free :) the torque steer from all the boost was sending it across the rollers and makes it no fun to drive unless its on low setting although thats all i realy use anyway . and some pics from vw festival great day
-
nice to be parked next to you, the dedication in keeping the car in the condition you have over the time you have realy shows every bit and subtle change from standard is quality very nice mate great dedication :)
