  1. Congratulations Neil  Corrado seems to be coming along really nicely too :D Really loving what you've done with the bumper! Hope everything with the Mrs and the wee one is good :D
  2. Yeah thought that too, guess i'll just have to keep going to VW then, just annoyed me when i looked at all the reciepts i have and it's just bolts etc :mad2:
  3. Rubber mallet should do the job for splitting them, used a heat gun on my rm's but did my mates 301's with the mallet. AFAIK heating silicone doesn't change it, as someone on here said thats why we spend lots of money on silicone hoses :D Cars looking stunning, love the way your going with it. Getting a good response over on vortex too :D
  4. Currently driving a Mk2 Gti 16v, has nothing to do with having numerous cars but 1- My corrado is in many bits 2- I've got a dog (to agree with walsey half of the scottish woodland and the Corrado don't mix) 3- I'm a retained firefighter and need a car to get to the station when on call Anyway a pic of said beast
  5. Is there anywhere apart from VW to get nuts/bolts etc, obviously i can get them from an ironmonger but i like the genuine stuff :D Think i must have spent a few £££ on bolts etc for my rebuild  , is this just the price i've got to pay to get genuine VW?!
  6. Drill or cut a hole/s into the inner arch guard on the n/s/f. It is suppose to improve the flow through the standard IC :D
  7. Hey kris, it's probably the amp if you've got one, get a buzz on the one in the wee golf. Don't know what you do to get rid of it though  Sure i saw an amp in the back of your VR, if not please just ignore me  Night shift go smoothly?
  8. Cheers guys hopefully get it sorted soon :D
  9. Well the box arrived today, without the cable bracket :? and the plastic bit a top of the shifter mech broken :( It's got a bloody massive shift weight on it  Was thinking of swapping the shift mechs over since it lacks the bracket, although i can't see this 3rd hole that i've to plug up? or maybe just buy the right bracket and a new plastic cover? Also wondered do i have to change over the speed distance sensor on top of the diff housing, it looks completely different?
  10. Rallye IC dimensions: End tank to end tank- 30" height- 13" thickness- 1.5" core size- 21"x13"x1.5" Inlet diameter- 3" Outlet diameter- 2.5" HTH :D
  11. Yeah all in mate, apparently only done 36k but then i have had 2 other companies phone me back with boxes that have 'only done 36k' too :?
  12. Mine was bonded to the box so I didn't attempt to break this bond for fear of damage or moisture ingress, mike's came out easy but he still had to adjust the cable to get the correct shifting. I'd just get a box with the brackets attached. It's your choice. If you don't use the diesel bracket you have to use a plug or bolt to fill the extra hole left by using the earlier bracket. I imagine it is pretty easy to swap the towers if you decide to go that route but as I said you'll still be adjusting the cables at the end of the day unless you get real lucky. Cheers CTWG60, probably just use the diesel bracket then, is it just a case of fitting my cables straight to the new box? Sorry for the stupid questions. Just found one £265 inc VAT and delivery, looks to be getting bought :D guy is just checking whether or not its got the brackets on it. Andy
  13. Yeah no bother bud, hopefully get it measured up 2night if i get a spare minute :D I thought along the same lines as you when i was doing my research, if both inlet and outlet were on the same end it might be easier to plumb in with existing pipework :D
  14. Just to resurrect this thread, the CTN gearbox looks like what i'm after for my G60, just unclear on one bit, mike mentions swapping shifter towers from the G60 box over to the CTN box, is this just a straight swap, easy to do? Any help is much appreciated :D Andy
  15. As far as i'm aware the fitment guide in the knowledge base says 'rallye style' but the intercooler is based on the golf g60 one, or at least thats what rob from g-werks said :D and no it's not actually a golf g60 IC but a replica i think :? Basically you need everything a rallye/golf g60 has 1-U-bend or pipes to form one (and gasket) 2-pipe from u-bend to IC(available from samco/venair as 3 piece set) 3-Intercooler 4-Pipe from outlet to boost pipe (available from samco/venair as 3 piece set) 5-boost pipe with co pot flange :norty: (have heard g-werks sell an alloy version but i can't confirm) 6-boost pipe to TB hose (available from samco/venair as 3 piece set) TBH it can be expensive pieceing together all that stuff especially if you were to want vag stuff but I just stumbled on my IC from a local guy, got all the pipework from charger to TB and the IC and radiator all from a rallye. that just left me to find a U-bend.You can fit loads of other IC's but the main reason people go for the rallye/golf g60 one is that it fits, almost factory like. Will report back when i've fitted the manifold 8)
  16. Heres the graph, hope it helps :D was a little out on my figures before, been that long since i looked at it  Andy
  17. Same size of core but the end caps are different, the golf g60 caps are smaller iirc. Samco do the hoses, around £160 I believe G-werks do a kit, which is a copy of the golf g60 IC, think thats around £500 and should include everything you need :D
  18. I was after a proven set of bhp/torque figures like you have just posted. :thumb right: I'd like to see your graph if you don't mind so I can see at what rpm it made these figures. Are u on standard injectors and do u have a fmic? sorry for all the questions but thanks for your help. That was just running standard everything including charger (apart from chip and pulley) No probs with the graph i'll look it out 2night and post up later. No FMIC but will be soon
  19. I've got a 68mm pulley and SNS chip, was going to get my graph out when i get home. Put out 179bhp and 199ft/lbs but thats all i can remember. What figures are you after or just interested in the graph?!
  20. Hi mate, i'm half way through fitting my rallye IC, it's not too difficult, bit of cutting to get it sitting properly, then some cutting to make clearance for the bonnet cable. If you check the thread JMC linked to it's got a few pictures of the work i've done :D Should be links to all the bits you need too ie. rallye outlet, silicone hose kit etc As with everything corrado though, I've noticed lots of bits that need attention before i can mount up the IC properly. The IC's pop up now and again on forums, tend to go for big money and of course you need the rallye outlet as well. IIRC Paul1 from here was selling a golf G60 IC recently for £300 might be worth a PM to see if he still has it? A lot less cutting to get it to fit  And yeah i've got one of those manifolds, not fitted yet though
  21. I don't know much about it but heres a link to somone who's fitted one viewtopic.php?f=11&t=56137&p=715562&hilit=sprinter#p715562 Looks like a lot of cutting is involved, other option is to look for a golf G60/rallye intercooler and try and piece your own kit together, thats what i've done, very little cutting on the rallye IC and virtually none on the golf G60 IC HTH
  22. Looks like you've got yourself a stunning motor Andrew 8) Hope the cams give you the power hike your looking for :D
  23. Actually have 2 friends stay in the street, the GF's one was just saying 'theres a car just like yours but green across the road' the other one 'Noisy green corrado goes past now and again  ' That was my old manager  They all know how daft I am over corrado's
  24. Glad your it's getting repaired :D Not seen the replacement going around! Any photos? Random question but do you live in wishart drive? Friend of my GF's was telling me about a green corrado that parked across the street? Hope the court case goes well when it comes around. Andy
