  1. No need for the tool just do the nut up then put a small flathead screwdriver in one of the holes on the tensioner and tighten the nut up with the spanner pushing against the screwdriver, not a very clear explanation but it will make sense when you do it :)

    I smell Fuel?

Hi Furkz I had to change all three fuel hoses last summer as two where leaking and the other looked dodgy, if your prepared for yet another ass rape at your local VW stealership they will set you back £72
  5. Thanks all! Will probably leave it a few weeks then as I need to go see Darren some point soon for... Health check, Samco's, RSR Charger outlet, and possably a charger re-build (last done at Jabba :? ) Cheers Dan
  6. Cheers Guys :-) Just wanted to double check that was the way to go! Bolts shouldnt be that bad as the mount was only replaced less than a year ago! Bloody cheap pattern parts, VAG all the way this time!! :( Cheers Dan
  7. Big thanks to 3Corsameal and Duke_st Both sorted me out from a desprate plee for hlep in the wanted section! as a result of which once its finnished the front end of my car will be dedacated to these fine upstanding forum menbers! ;-) Oh yea and the bits arrived promptly and where well packaged! Thanks again guys! Dan
  8. Hi All, Just searched on the above but not found much info, I am looking to replace my front mount this weekend with a standard VAG one, as I did find pics of Joe and Riley's torn brackets caused by solid front mounts! Can anyone confirm that I can reach/remove the front mount by: removing the: rad cover, top rad hose, Boost hose from standard silencer, and rad fan (+ cowling)? It does look possible but I don’t want to get halfway through to discover that you need to take the bumper/slam Panel off of something equally silly! Am not expecting it to be easy (come on it NEVER is on the C!) but would like to be as prepared as possible so I need to order 2 mounting bolts and the front mount, anything think of anything else that should be changed? Or things that I will need to be aware of\careful of? Cheers Dan

    Temp guage

Sounds like you have an old thermostat that is not quite closing properly (as you mentioned its got worse over time) be warned though the new VW stat's are sh1te! I went through 3 before I gave up and put the old one back in. :x  So my G60 has the same symptoms i.e clear run water temp shows under 70 but stuck in traffic goes up to between 90 and 110
  10. An important point to remember regarding these ISV check valves is that as far as your ECU knows it hits a set value for boost and assumes anything over is being dumped via the ISV it cant measure the boost and add extra fuel required for boost above the set value (just under 1 bar iirc), this could mean your engine running lean at full chat.... Not good! :onfire: Have a word with the guys @ Gwerks am sure they will give you all the pros and cons
  11. http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5894 Here you go mate :-) was worried for a moment there that you had fu*ked yours when I spotted the title! Cheers Dan
  12. If you lost all your water odds are it must have been steam hope so anyway! Fingers crossed its not too bad anyway!
  13. Discovered a new noise! :-( sounds like my front mount needs swapping again  maybe if I fit a VAG one it will last longer than a year! :bad-words:
  14. Cheers Henny :-D Riley looks like we have an answer! I probably wont get around to doing mine for a while as I dont have a timing gun, but let me know how you get on doing yours if you decide to remark your crank and time it up that way! Dan
  15. Bugger :-( so am I right in thinking that I wont ever get the timing right with this flywheel then? As mentioned I set it up on the pulleys and although its quick I would like it set up properly at some point.
  16. Timg60 nice one :-) looks good!
  17. yep, crank pulley only fits one way as well but there is a bit of play in it only a few mm each way but enough to put you a tooth out!
  18. Its been nearly a year since I last looked at it but I had the exact same problem Neil is having, i.e when the pullies are lined up the flywheel marks are way out cant remember which way though  Having said that I was very carefull to put the crank pulley back on in the exact center as there is a lot of play in it!
  19. Not questioning those far more experienced than me in this sort of thing but if the flywheel will only go back on one in the correct position how can my flywheel marks miles out? Come to think of it I do have a recept for when the previous owner had the crank and flywheel lightned and balenced maybe they put the marks back on in the wrong place? She has been runing fine after I set the timing using the pulleys

    vr6 engine

It will always spill out over the expansion tank when up to operating temp, as it warms up the coolent expands. Its suppsed to be kept under pressure by the cap as that prevents the coolent from boiling @ 100 degrees+
  21. Safe cheers Riley another one of those "what the hell is that" moments cleared up :-D best of luck getting your timing issue sorted! Dan
  22. Happy modding mate hope it turns out well! An dont forget to post the pics when its done! Dan
