EGP = Extra Gloss Protection UDS = Ultra Deep Shine SRP = Super Resin Polish Come on Karl keep up mate

Do you have a pressure washer? If you are just using a hose then there is the Gilmour Foamaster HERE which plugs on to the end of your hose, then get some Super Snow Foam HERE which foams up ALOT or you can just use normal shampoo in there but it wont foam as much as the snow foam will. Or if you want cheapy cheap then there is the Superspray HERE which again plugs on to the hose and if used with snow foam gives a pretty good amount of foam but not as much as the GIlmour. To get foam as good as Nathan does then you need a Karcher pressure washer and then either Karchers own foam lance or what Nathan uses (im guessing) is an Autobrite foam lance which can be bought from http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk

Yeah i knew the 17's would be ok but i dont really want 17's as i personally dont like the look of them on a corrado so i want some OEM looking 16" wheels that will clear 288's maybe even 312's with a bit of caliper shaving/spacing etc, but i want atleast 7" wide as i have some 215/40/16 Toyo's to use with them. I like the look of the Azev's but looks like they wont fit. So it might be back to my original plan of some mk3 golf anniversary RX2's.

lol... Personally I would give Stormdevelopments a call, speak to Andy, he will be able to tell you exactly what you need. Yeah i have spoken to Andy a few times, nice bloke. I am going to be ringing him anyway so will see what he says.

Will you be going Edition 38 mate? If so bring some as i have lost mine! -
Cheers mate, yours looks very tidy which is what i want ideally! I think the Vortech's are easier because the charger itself is SOOO big and sit quite far up the block that its pretty much in line with the TB where as the Rotrex is tiny and is further down so its a pig to work out. Im tempted to just buy a bunch of hoses, all different angles and then just fob it all together and flog whatever i have left!!
-
Cheers Ian, 'bit' being the important word there  it wont be long, once i got the hosing angles etc sorted out then i can get it fitted, i am aiming for next weekend really as the hoses are next day delivery so even if i order them in the week i will get them in time, i should hopfully work out the angles this weekend at edition with help from Karl and anyone else willing to help!!

My buzzer used to go off quite frequently mate so i changed the oil pressure sender on top of the oil filter housing which cost a few quid and it hasn't buzzed since, really easy to change and that was also where mine had a slight oil leak so i killed 2 birds with 1 stone :D Also just check the connections as they could be worn, they are only spade connections so you can always cut the wire back and put new connections on if they do look a bit dodgy.
-
Could i not just cut the 135 degree elbow i have and a bit off the reducer so they are much shorter and i can play with the angle then. I done a quick photoshop to show what i mean, it would just have a straight alloy pipe and then a 45 degree or 90 degree depending on which way i mount the charger alloy pipe coming off the charger and coupling up with the straight?
-
Well when their website actually bloody works for a change (its shockingly bad at the moment!!) i will check but im pretty sure they only have 45 and 90 degree reducers. If they do do a 135 degree reducer and they are the same size as the 135 degree elbow i have then that would be ideal i can just have that elbow coming round then a straight alloy pipe going into the 90 degree alloy pipe connected to the charger so as little silicon hose as possible really!

Nah i got it second hand from Coxylad, i got the charger itself along with a mocal oil cooler with the chargers oil supply etc for 650 notes, billy bargain! Then i got the custom bracket, pullies, belt and the stupidly expensive traction oil that rotrexes can only run on  from a company in Denmark called R-Techs who specialise in Rotrex charger and supply Storm i believe which all came to about £400. Thats everything to fit the charger to the block, then i ordered all my silicon/alloy piping which has come to about £150 and im going for a quick cheap route for the mo until i can afford to get my head rebuilt and go for silly power so for now im getting a custom fuel regulator from Storm which ups the flow of the stock injectors and is good for 6-7psi (about 260bhp) and doesnt require any ECU mapping!! Thats going to cost £140 though, ouch! And because its only 6psi it doesnt need any additional cooling either. So altogether along with new oil, plugs, K&N filter etc its going to cost me about £1500 :D only for now though, i am going to save up and get the head done with metal gasket and ARP head and conrod bolts and then go for about 12 psi which will obviously need larger injectors, aquamist cooling and a full map!

I am currently in the process of fitting a Rotrex charger to my VR6. I was originally going to go for a Vortech purely for the reason you can have close to 300bhp for about £2k considering a shrick and 268 cams would come close to that fitted and you wouldn't have anywhere near the power of the charger. I drove Karls vortech charged vr and i loved it, but did notice that it didnt feel any different to standard until you are up the revs, and even then the power delivery is progressive and smooth so feels naturally aspirated. Then a rotrex SP30-84 charger came up for sale for a bargain price on this forum so after reading about them i just had to have it. The rotrex's deliver power from the word go, when Mr_Fusion was fitting his it gave 5psi pretty much straight away which is awesome, mind you his did end up running about 15psi and killed his head gasket! My charger is now an old model and is now taken over by the C30-84 or for silly power C30-94, they are the same design however the C models have a stronger gearbox and longer lasting bearings when running big power, i believe the C30-94 charger can go to 400bhp which is turbo territory! If you keep your eye on the FI VR6 thread i will be updating as i fit mine which will be within the next couple of weeks touch wood!

Its a piece of piss to change the gearbox oil mate so if you have never done it or dont know when it was last done i would just do it anyway as coolrado said. Make sure you undo the fill plug first though so you dont empty the oil from the drain plug and then cant get the fill pug off!! I done my mates last weekend and i think it took about 10 minutes

Nice surprise today, went home at lunch to find my silicon hoses had turned up from Siliconhoses.com, thats bloody quick as i only ordered them yesterday afternoon! Anyway i popped the bonnet and removed my airbox and put the charger sort of in place and i have made a cock up with the fitment of pipes, it seems i cant go 50mm all the way to the TB, its going to have to be half and half as the 76-51 reducer with the 51mm 135 degree elbow is way too long to fit on to the TB as seen in this pic: So i thought maybe an 80mm 90 degree elbow with the reducer on but that goes a bit too far to the left as seen in this pic (note its not properly fitted to the tb so once fitted straight it actually squashes against the top mount!): I placed the 51mm 135 degree elbow in place and the 51mm is too small obviously but i think an 80mm 135 degree elbow straight off the TB into the reducer will do the trick. Here's how the 51mm looks in place: I put the charger sort of in place and connected everything up that i have and it kind of gives an idea of how it will work. In the pic i have the 80mm 90 degree elbow coming off the TB but its at more of an angle as it will be a 135 degree elbow, then i have the reducer and then i put the 51mm 135 degree elbow on to the charger outlet and connected them up, but its actually going to be a 90 degree alloy pipe coming off the charger: I started getting really excited when it was in place as it kind of hit me that very soon its actually going to happen  So what does everyone think? Do you reckon that TB -> 80mm 135 degree -> reducer -> 50mm alloy straight -> 50mm 90 degree -> charger, will work?

I think the rack leaks power steering fluid if its gone mate, the classic sign of rack wear is its easier to turn left than right. The clonk could be the track rod, best way to check is to get a friend to sit in the car and turn the steering to full lock, you grab hold of the track rod (the rod not the end joint and as far as you can reach) and then get your mate to keep pushing the steering on lock and off slightly, if you feel and play then they could do with replacing. It could also be your top mounts clonking, mine do when im stationary and turn the steering, open your bonnet and turn the steering and watch the top mounts as you turn and see if they move when you hear the clonking, if your mate is still there get him to turn the steering whilst you stick your ear near things and you should find it

Lovely jubbly, i will get one of them then :D Nearly there!!

Oh and shouldnt this thread be in the Exterior section?
-
Ooh good link Kev just want i need! Im guessing i need a certain size? Will i need to get out there and measure mine or does anyone know which one i need off the top of their head?
-
Holy thread resurrection Batman!! So what was the verdict with 7.5x16 Azev A's on a corrado VR6? Do they go on? I am looking at some but i have 288's on my rado so after readin this thread im guessing they wont fit? :(
-
Ok i just ordered my piping from silicon hoses and ebay. I went for an alloy elbow and alloy straight which will come off the charger outlet and then go in to the 135 degree silicon bend which i will plumb the ISV into and then the reducer on to the TB. Also got a 90 degree 76mm elbow coming off the charger inlet and then i will just need to get some flexi piping so i can run the MAF horizontal somewhere in the front bumper as mines OBD1. That sound about right? I hope so as i have just spent over a hundred quid  Just need a cone filter now and thats everything i need to mount the charger.
-
Cool thanks Kev. So i want a 76-51mm reducer on the TB and then from then on 51mm to the charger outlet. Is the throttle body a definate 80mm and will the 76mm reducer fit over it as they dont have 80mm? After the reducer it will be a 135 degree elbow which im guessing i would need to plumb my ISV into?
-
Guys im just ordering my piping. Do i definately need to run it at 50mm as far up to the TB as possible for low down torque or shall i go straight to 80mm after the charger outlet? Will the 50mm affect charge temps at all as it will be compressing more? Will it matter that im not running a diverter valve or is it best to go with 80mm without diverter valve so the pressure isn't as high?
-
You obviously haven't seen this thread  CLICKY

Looking good Michael as always 8) and thanks for the reflection pic  I agree with Toad in that you must of been going insane to think about selling it, its just such a nice example! How do you rate the Dodo Juice mate? Not tried any yet but i think the purple haze is what im going to have to try pretty soon! So far i have been really pleased with my Victoria Concours but i think im going to have to give the Dodo a try, plus it gives me another wax option to offer customers when i start detailing which wont be long now eek!
-
Good man Michael, you have saved me from pain as if you had sold the rado i would have had to slap you next time i saw you and you aren't the kinda bloke i wana go around slapping  I think you have made the correct choice, same as mine basically except mines with an old polo instead of a golf, but i dont really intend to do much to the polo, maybe slam it on some wide 13's though 8) Its only been a week since i drove my C and i miss it to death!! After driving around in the polo and a van (exhaust has fell off the polo ) i just had to get the rado out now and start her up and she feels and sounds sooooo good  She's going to get a quick wash then i will tuck her up again :D so i think you will certainly appreciate your C more!
