I hit 140k yesterday in mine :( its getting on a bit and im going and putting another 100bhp through it soon  although i have other plans so im not worried  Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing the car again in the metal some time :)

Yeah i suppose that makes sense really, same thing as window tints

My C has security film already on, but my passenger side front window has started to peel and looks crap. But generally all of it looks crap as after i clean my car up, the paint looks great but the windows always look cloudy and have marks on them that dont shift which i can only put down to being behind the security film which is bloody annoying! So does anyone know what companies will remove and re-apply security film??

My thoughts exactly so i think perhaps a 90mm pulley may be more like it. I think thats still good for about 8psi.

Im sure you could work it out for yourself really mate considering you already have 17x7.5's. Measure how much clearance you have at the moment, add half an inch to the width of the wheel and bring it in 3mm. The slightly higher offset might help with arch clearance but you may need to check that they wont be too close to the suspension on the inside.

Its probably around that, maybe a tad more. She's not buying brand new, second hand but just a few years old i think would be best as she wants to keep the change from the Audi selling. Looking around at Polo 1.4TDI's she will be looking at about £5-6K for a fairly decent one with low ish miles.

Its the Mclaren F1 LM as seen in THIS rather large picture.

FINALLY i can post in this thread :D I have just seeled the deal on Coxy's Rotrex supercharger which is the older SP30-84 model as apposed to the newer C30 model. What i need to know is what size pulley to go for. I dont want silly power that will blow my head gasket etc, so im thinkin around the 260-280bhp mark. The charger itself has an 80mm pulley on. I am getting the brackets and pullies etc from Martin at R-Tech in Denmark who Mr Fusion recommended and so far he is a top guy and very helpful. He first recommended a 90mm pulley to be on the safe side as he seems to think i could damage the engine, then he said i could possible go 80mm. I was lead to believe the 80mm pulley can give around 10-12 psi but that could be on the 94 model not the 84 model which mine is!! So what does everyone else think? Rob.

I suppose the fabia 1.4TDI could be an option as well but they dont seem to be much cheaper really.

Well she's not a badge snob but she's not a woman racer either so not bothered about how much power it has and how quick it gets to 60  which is why i thought polo 1.4tdi. She wants something thats going to last and not fall apart basically. Are the Skodas as good as the VW's or are they built to a budget?

At the moment my mum and dad have an Audi A4 Quattro 2.5 TDI Sport which is a great car, but only gets used by my mum as a daily car so isnt really any good for her. They are going to sell it pretty soon and just get a smaller more economical car for mum to use. I have suggested a VW Polo 1.4TDI as they can do 60mpg easily enough, cheap to insure (insurance group 4 i believe), will last forever. and is a VW  Is the polo a good choice or is there better out there? Rob.

If you want another good tip, heat up the plastic with a hairdryer or heat gun before applying it as it makes the job easier and they stay black for much longer. Heat alone actually re-blackens (if thats a word ) plastic, try it, just hold a hairdryer on hottest setting close to the plastic and watch it turn

Loving that look mate! I say deffo go for it :D

The guy in the Z4 is a tit, he keeps trying it, gets pasted and then thinks he's going to magically catch up with it!! What a tit

Loving the Audi Gareth! Good choice in wheels as always and the ride height is spot on!

HERE is a good guide showing how to repair stone chips. The guy used paint AND lacquer for these and the results are superb, you woudlnt even know there were any stone chips there. So i would imagine you would do the same with your scratch, but he doesnt say how much paint followed by how much lacquer which is a bit disappointing but he says that it needs to be above the original paint lave so im guessing maybe fill the scratch level with the paint, then put lacquer on it so its raised above the original paint level perhaps?? He also reckons you can polish it out by hand using 3M compound which is very abrasive, but i reckon it would be hard work and dont think you would get the same finish you could get from a machine polisher personally.

I think VW is your best bet, ask for a touch up kit for your colour and whatever they give should do the trick. There are mixed views on whether lacquer is needed or not, on some of the stone chip repairs i have seen done the guys have just used single stage paint to fill it in, then wet sand and polish etc and you could really tell the difference. But i have also heard of guys putting lacquer on as well. I think for stone chips singe stage is good enough but i think with a scratch like that you might need to lacquer it as well. I will try and find you for you.
