  1. I just found out that the cd i got off the bay with the bentley manual on also has VAG-COM which was a nice surprise. Can someone post a link to the cables etc i need to scan my car and if possible an Audi A4??
  2. I had a fecking clio 182 cup up my chuff yesterday, at higher speeds i started pulling away but it was bloody quick and right up my arse lower down :x i wont have that problem for long though  i will chasing M3's soon :D
  3. Yeah ok, well it may have to be later on in the day next week as im back at work, but work is pretty flexible so i could leave a bit earlier, about 4 ish.
  4. Yes mate, i still wanna go just to get some prices really. I wont be able to get anything done yet thats for sure as i have spent enough money lately and i still need to get the charger! But i am running the speedlines daily at the min whilst sorting out everything else so catching isnt an issue! I should hopefully get the majority of the jobs done on my car today but all the tracking etc is going to be way off and i need to try and get it done and MOT'd on friday. So getting over might be a bit difficult!
  5. Hopefully mate, just got to wait for 'that' PM now
  6. Yep, i changed my gear box oil yesterday and the old stuff was minging! Put some new Castrol oil in and so far it feels a fair bit smoother. Although i am still having problems with 1st and reverse so i am going to try and adjust it to move a bit more to the left by following one of Kevs guides. Well today was a bit of a bastard, i managed to change my drivers side wishbone, ball joint and drop link  BUT i did it all alone with no help and i got fed after doing it so left the rest to do tomorrow lol. Jacking the engine up was strange and i got stuck with it as i jacked it up so much after removing the front engine mount but it wasnt enough, so i had to loosen the rear mount as well and that gave it another leaverage to get to the wishbone bolt finally. All the bolts came off no probs after soaking in Plus Gas for the past few days! But i still replaced all the bolts with new ones from VW. So tomorrow i will do the passenger side wishbone, ball joint and drop link which shouldnt take half as long as i know now what im doing, i dont have to jack the engine up AND i have ball joint splitter (had to go halfords and get one!). Whilst the wishbone etc is all off i will also attempt the CV boot as the passenger side one has split, so will remove the whole drive shaft really to do that, i can pack it with grease then as well. Then if there's time do the ARB bushes. I am really glad i took this week off to just jump in the deep end as i have learnt a lot and it isnt as hard as i thought, i have done it all by myself with NO guides (apart from when i needed to find out how to get to the rear mount so used my bentley PDF) so i feel like its a big achievement for me so far lol.
  7. Well today was the start of my busy week off work to do some jobs on my corrado. Todays job was to change ym gearbox oil as my gear change is getting a bit hard, followed the guide from the Knowedge Base and was a piece of piddle to do and was surprised that the bolts undone straight away no fuss after a little soak in some Plus Gas. I left it too late to get soem Redline oil so settled for some Castrol from Halfords which seems to have done the job, took just under 2 litres as stated and i took it for a drive after and so far so good, although 1st and reverse are still hard to get in sometimes so tomorrow i am going to try adjusting the left and right on the linkages so hopefully that should make things better. Tomorrow i need to pop to VW and pick up my new ARB bushes, all wishbone/balljoint/ARB replacement bolts and my new oil pressure switch and sender to change. I already have new wishbones, ball joints, ARB drop links and a new CV boot so i am going to tackle these tomorrow. Only thing i am worried about is jacking up the engine to get to the wishbone bolt but i dont think it will be too bad. I have soaked everthing in plus gas the past few nights so hopefully it should all go swimmingly!! Then the rest of the week i am going to change my brakes when they get here (Black Diamond grooved discs and EBC Greenstuff pads!) then bleed the brakes/master cylinder to get it stopping a bit better ready for the charger! Then get the wheel bearings replaced, certainly get the one that needs doing anyway but if i can get a good enough price i will get all done regardless again ready for the charger. Then basically just sort out niggles with the car really like the annoying rattling windows and general squeaks and rattles in the interior (have a reel of sticky felt at the ready!). And finally on friday the car is going in for its MOT so fingers crossed she passes (with the speedlines on obviously!). Anyway watch this space for some updates!
  8. Looking good mate! I will be takin a better look at Stonor tomorrow! I have a feeling your C is going to show mine up :(
  9. I dont think i have an easy bleed, i know we had one for a motorbike but dont think we ever got one for cars. I will check though, and if not i will most probably get one! I thought 5.1 would be a better choice, cheers Kev.
  10. I have ordered my black diamond discs and greenstuff pads so will be fitting these next week some time. Whats the ebst brake fluid to use? Just regular DOT4 or DOT 5.1?
  11. Its supposed to be as good as some of the high end Zymol waxes for a fraction of the cost. I have seen loads of people use it from samples over on detailing world and have had great results with it. I may have to give it a try soon me thinks 8)

Sounds good mate! See you next week some time :)

    Arches!!!

Very true, just means a less comfortable ride with lower profile tyres on and its not exactly comfortable at the minute lol! I will get some quotes around and see what my best option will be. TBH though even with lower profile tyres on it may stop the general catching but its still bound to catch on big bumps only being 5mm smaller surely!

    Arches!!!

I was wondering when you were going to pop up Ben  yes mate let me know where this Stylehaus place is and we can take a ride over there at some point. I have all next week off as its my 'oily mitts' week working on the car, SO if you have any time on one of the days next week we could go down there and get a quote. I dont think im going to be able to afford what you have had though Ben, its just going to be too much money :( but i will se what they can do.
  15. Looks lovely mate! Hope this one lives forever unlike the last one (rip :() the red looks very nice and deep so shows its been looked after by the pervious owner. Not so sure about the M badge though :? what a strange thing to do
  16. Ok cool, i know the greenstuffs are good, just wondering why the site recommends red stuffs for the car, but i suppose thats just for track day use.
  17. Ok i have just been looking around and im looking at £111 for the black diamond discs and about £48 for the greenstuff pads, with delivery etc its about £175. Does this sound about right? Thats from Motorsport World btw, havent found them any cheaper anywhere else. GSF dont sell the discs and neither do ECP however ECP were cheaper for the pads but only a few quid so might as well get the lot from one place in one delivery. Also on their website it recommends Greenstuff pads as a OE replacement on the VR6 and recommends Red Stuff for a performance upgrade and as standard on R32's so would it be better to go for Red Stuff pads? Or am i right in thinking that the red stuffs need warming up a lot more to work properly hence why they are used for track days?

    Arches!!!

Sorry again about that dude, i completely forgot you cant go normal speeds with those 'special' wheels, seriousl though you need to get the arches sorted else you may as well put a 1.3 in it  No worries mate lol. Its ok on the large roads, i held back after my BIG rub as i didnt know what the state of the tyres was but on the way home she got some stick again :D its mainly towns that it doesnt like because lets face it every town you go through has absolute w*nk roads in this country so i just have to take my time, which i usually would through towns anyway! But it is annoying though! I might go and have a word with Steve Denton at Premier and see what can be done!

    Arches!!!

Yeah Nikki's looks great but at £300 a side its not feasable! Hence why im asking if its possible to just roll whats left! I will eventually get them flared but cant justify it now as want the charger first and then gotta save to pay off the insurance! As well as get a mk1

    Arches!!!

Didnt really want to create a new thread but i couldnt find anything from searching. As you all know i have stupid wheels on my car and chose looks over practicality  well they catch on the rear obviously due to the tyre protruding (sp?) the arches and im getting annoyed with it really, i dont mind it so much on my daily driving as i know exactly which bumps etc will make them catch but its when i go for drives on roads i dont know where it gets annoying as i have no idea what the roads are like and its just arse clenching mad! (like last night on the way to South Mimms ) Anyway, i have rolled the front arches and the fronts are fine and the rears i have angle grinded down to a safe point and resealed. But it seems to me like there is a still a lip from not wanting to grind them down too much to risk splitting them, and so i was wondering if a bodyshop is still able to roll whats left of the lip? If they could flatten it properly i reckon it would make a hell of a difference on general road bumps. Does anyone know if it can be done?
  21. So where's the best place to buy Black Diamond discs and EBC Greenstuff pads from?
  22. I was once interested in the Brembos but i got told not to let the name get to me as they are fairly basic apparently.
  23. No worries. Bear in mind the black wears off after a few hundred miles tho ;) Well that sucks :( oh well, still good brakes so thats what matters at the end of the day! More money to spend
