  1. Nice one Eric!! That site has some good parts, including loads of wheels!! You have to register though to order and i cant understand a word of it
  2. I knew if i asked this question it would lead to more work :( So basically its going to end up being a cnut of a job like most things! Kev - I just want to get it driving as good as it can really before whacking a supercharger on it! But at the same time on a budget (ish) so i can continue saving for the charger so i just want to change the easy bits that will make it a bit more responsive and more stable. Wheels bearings are definately gone on the left side as when i go round a roundabout i can hear them grinding. I can do these but i just need a press. So is it not worth changing just the tie rod ends alone then?? Plus im a bit of a beginner with this sort of thing, i could do it but i just dont know where to start and could end up cocking it up.
  3. Fair enough, if you are fed up with it then there's no point keeping it. Someone is going to get a lovely C when you do sell. Whatever you decide to do though mate good luck with it :D
  4. Have you not thought about removing your side strips? (in other words if you do it then i can see how it looks without doing it to mine first )
  5. Ditto  some of that foam tape and a lot of faffing about should sort that out though
  6. I would want leather for 4k. And deffo get rid of the 18's it will drive horrible! 100k is nothing really, mines on 135k and not had any problems (yet!!)
  7. I am trying to get my car driving well by replacing worn drivetrain parts. I replaced top mounts when i put my coilovers on and im replacing the bushes (new wishbones for fronts) and ball joints soon, and by doing some searches i should also change the tie rod ends whilst im down there. What is involved with changing the tie rod ends? Is it simple enough to do? Can they be done without taking many parts off or is it worth doing them when i do the wishbones etc? Cheers, Rob.
  8. Ahh thats interesting as i always thought that you had to have 2 engine the same running same power etc but i suppose when you look at it that way then it makes sense!
  9. Well im a little biased to like him really as he's a blackberry vr6 slammed on 9x16 deep dish wheels ... hmmm sounds familiar
  10. No mate its the lower the offset number the more the wheels stick out. For example mine are 9x16's all round with et30 on the front which are under the arches and et15 on the rear which stick out the arches. So et45 on those wheels will sit closer to the hub.
  11. Nice one Neil. I will be following that clay bar guide when i do my parents car as its been really neglected so it will definately need claying!
  12. Seems to be quite a common feeling at the moment. My mate broke down the other night and was just coming off a large roundabout. His mobile battery was very low so he rang home first and then rang The AA and told them where he was and said that his battery was about to go dead so cant ring up again. They said they would send someone out. He waited a while and then turned his phone back on to see if any family had text/called him and he had an answer phone message from the AA asking him to phone this other company who are closer and tell them his location and they will send someone out to get him!! He clearly told the guy his battery was going dead and so he couldnt ring anyone, and just then his battery did die! Luckily for him his dad decided to go fetch him anyway so he got back but he rang the AA when he got home and gave them a good mouthful! Its a bit worrying really as im insured with the AA :pale:
  13. Yeah i meant 30mm without tyres is about 19-20" rim i think. Either way they are still pretty big! I dont mind them looking larger than 16" but just dont want them to look stupid. Plus i need the car quite low like mine and with massive rims it wont sit very low! The only site i can find that sells wheels is the one i was looking at that my uncle told me about which is http://www.tuning18.com. Its a wicked site, they do body parts/kits and loads of other stuff and there is a gallery of some already modified models BUT its in France and worked out too expensive to just get a set of wheels with delivery!!
  14. all that damage from a cattle grid!! Gutted for you mate. Will you be able to claim for it or will you have to go through insurance?
  15. Yeah cheers mate, i am looking for wheels and they come in different sizes, the ones i was looking at are 30mm which im told work out to look like 20" rims on the car
  16. That looks great Nikki, its not pulled as far as i thought it would be which i actually prefer as its more subtle!
  17. They are mahoosive!!! Cant wait to see these on the car i bet they will look super 8)
  18. Cheers Mave :D Bojmobile i probably could. I will have to take a trip over to my uncles and see what he thinks
  19. Yeah that is weird! Maybe they made them for you without you knowing  Just went to buy the wheels but then stopped as i would of been arse raped - 27 euros for some model wheels!! Thats mainly the delivery as they are from France! I cant find anywhere else that sells them!
  20. Yeah too much work really  my uncle has done it before but then the majority of cars he does are old american cars so they dont really have much dash to convert! Im going to take the plunge and get some wheels for it now :D
  21. What, convert it to right hand drive??
  22. Done a bit more to mine tonight. Added its 2nd coat of blackberry and its really starting to look nice now :D and i also painted the seats black and i used satin black to make them look leather (even though i dont have it ). Going to lacquer it tomorrow so it should shine then hopefully! And on friday and over the weekend i will make a debadged grill for the front, paint the tail lights all red, and make some numberplates :D then its just wheels!
  23. Ooh im liking that :D can you do me a favour mate and measure those wheels diameter? They look like they might be 30mm ones.
