  1. The Cupra R used the BAM engine from 2004 to 2005. I have never had any more problems with them than other 1.8T's unless thay are taken over 300PS.
  2. If you buy a Weitec kit from C&R, you get full instructions.
  3. We do them as well. http://www.candrenterprises.co.uk/image ... d=BHOSG9.2
  4. I would think you have a bad earth to the instruments. The earth for the instruments is on the cylinder head as a white/brown so make sure this is clean and tight.
  5. No problem :D The G60 disc has a conventional deep bell and if you then try to offer up the G60 caliper carrier, it will be well out of line.
  6. What confused me there was you saying
  7. Why the **** would you want to do that? VW made the VR6 5 stud for a reason.

    No heating

Yes, the matrix can look like it is flowing perfectly but very little water passes through the matrix tubes. Sediment settles in the bottom of the tubes and the vertical installation makes it impossible to clear it, I have seen this literally hundreds of times since the mid eighties after this matrix was first used in 84.
  9. Are you losing the spark and fuel pump relay drive signal?

Classic blocked matrix, I have seen it hundreds of times. You can flush and blow them out with water/air all day and they won't unblock. The only cure is a new matrix and we always fit a genuine VW matrix even though they cost 4 times what a GSF one does.
  11. Piper BPG60260H, an excellent all rounder with a good idle.
  12. Take the expansion cap off and check the condition of the "O" ring. Use a very thin smear of washing up liquid to prevent the ring from gathering or better still, fit a VAG upgraded cap especialy if yours is the old black type.

    Fuse box !

All Corrado's use the same fuse box and the same FB was used in the Golf from late 89 to 98, Golf Cabrio 94 to 02, Caddy 96 to 03, Passat 88 to 97, Polo/Ibiza 95 to 00, Sharan/Alhambra/Galaxy 96 to 00, T4 95 to 00, Toledo 1 and some others I have forgotten. The VW part number is 357 937 039 and they retail at £198.63.
  14. If this is a VR6 (can't think it would be anything else with an electric pump) then it could be the water pump or plastic coolant transfer pipe but I can’t see it being the thermostat housing unless the water is running down the transfer pipe and dripping off at the lower end of the pipe. Replacing the water pump means removing the poly V belt (you need an M8 set screw that is about 40-mm long) and then releasing the front and right hand engine mounts, loosening the gearbox mount top bolt and then lifting the engine up high enough to remove the WP pulley and then undo and remove the WP so it can be pulled out over the inner wing.

    mocal oil pipes

It depends on where you put the rad and how you run the lines. You need to mock them up and then have someone like Think make them for you.
  16. Just fit a new 22-mm m/c, they are cheap from GSF. Changing a servo takes ages and is a pain.
  17. The R32 has a very sensitive throttle, have you driven one in an original car to compare?
  18. It may be head gasket failure; the noise could be the sound of the gasses passing between two cylinders, basically chronic detonation. A compression test will show this up and it normally happens between 1 and 2.
  19. What Corrado do you have and does it have ABS? Why do you want to replace the servo?
  20. Look at the selector mechanism on top of the box whilst someone gently moves the gearlever a little bit, fore and aft and then left and right and look for any lost movement in the selector parts.
  21. The 9A dipstick is 051 115 611 B as swiginn says but how you use it on a 6A depends on the sump gasket you have used. The 9A has a very thick gasket and the dipstick takes this into account.
