cheers for the help guys. I have a supersprint back box and a through pipe for theb mid section, so the exhaust is a bit better. How much for new ex haust manifolds or cat bypass. Just had a word with Darren, going to get the Supercharger rebuilt and get better injectors and a couple of other things done. :) Thanks for all suggestions. Keep them coming for future refrence. Yep the fiat 126 has gone :( The engine decided to self desruct and blow a hole in the block between the water and oil ways. Want a donor car 8) She has seen the light and brough a VW 1987 Mk2 GTI 160000 miles, 6 months Tax and MOT For £300 :) Anyways Looks like a service is on the cards for the Rado *wallet starts to shiver*

Hi guys been a while since posting on the forum, been building a mobile 24 track music studio :) Anyways i am very please with my rado at the moment, had a chip and 68mm pulley and boost return mod done by Darren 6 months ago. I do however feel my car is a bit sluggish, i know the weather has been hot and this might be a reason. I was driving my g/f new (old) MK2 GTI 8v and i must say it felt pretty quick. This instantly made me think somthing was not quite ticking along as is should on the rado. IT MAY JUST BE BECAUSE I AM USED TO IT But anywyas. We are about 28k miles from the last supercharger rebuild (might be this) although Darren cracked it open 6 months ago and repaced a couple of bearings and said it was about 60% towards needing a rebuild 6 months ago. Ecu pipe is 1 meter long and in good nick. Plugs and Leads cap and rotor are about a year old now (suppose they should be changed) I know the MFA isn;t too accurate but i rarely see about 20mpg driving around the city. Just want to get it running good. Get it serviced? where? SO........ If everything with the car is ok what would be the next progression in the performance area? What prices am i looking at? What gains? I know all gains are not garaunteed. FMIC? What will this help do? OIL Cooler? Flowed and Ported Head? Any other suggestions to this or anything above would be great. Cheers Beavisjem

Changed a CV joint because i had a strange knocking noise on the front of my car, just realised after 3 hours work putting the cv joint on that the wieght on the drive shaft has come loose, do i cut it off or try to stick it back on. And if i can cut it off can you give me any advice Is it rubber or metal Whats the best way to remove it Cheers Beavisjem

Had a horibble griding noise from the front. Took the front wheels off, put them back on and the noise went away.

there is a little tab on the right hand side which you need to pull down, you can then twist off the blower and it drops down, disconnect the electrics. Refit reverse or removal. Beavis

 Loose wheel nuts for me.

I've got the same problem aswell, from the front nearside. Mine sounds like a pulsating rub. When you slow down its in time with the wheel. But only happens sometimes. And sometimes when i pull off there is a knock like somthing is releasing. Just changed my brake pads (pagid fast road) done less that 50miles on them? Can;t really feel anything throught the brake pedal.

cheers henny i'll get my screwdriver :)

yeah used the old resistor pack Thats why i'm so confused about it.

My fan has been getting really noisey and blew the termal fuse. Decided to replace the termalfuse and the fan itself. Went to GSF and got a fan, was told its a MK2 golf fan and put it in and it works fine on 1-3 but doesn't work on 4. I thought it was the resister pack that determins the 3 speeds and bypass for full power. Have i done something wrong. Been searching but most people have the problem of it only working on 4. Cheers Beavisjem

Din;t manage to find a pipe yet, i got one of those corrigated foil pipes but it blew a hole in it after a couple of weeks. Got to say i am use to the noise now and with the radio i don;t hear it, when i did have the pipe on for a bit i wanted the sound back :) tee hee the woosp is lound when you let off at high reves but you get a slight metallic squeel as the excess boost is rushing through the throttle body. Its there on part throttle about 2.5 - 3 is where its most noticible. 70mph Beavisjem

Yep the guy who owned my car before me went and got it done at theose F***wits at nice, i must say its a terrible install. They have ruined my fuse box because they stuffed all the loose wires behind it and it doesn;t sit on the pegs right. NICE are so bad  : How much for a new alarm, or is it worth a new loom and a reinstall on my alarm clifford concept 550. And where did you get yours sorted how much £££
