So (fingers crossed) having the water temp reach 110 and the fan kick in and the oil vary between 100 and 108 depending on how hard it was working would be ok? It was on a run from swindon to exeter and back on the only sunny day we had last week down the m4 and m5. Ive got the sort of temp guage that happily moves on up whilst standing still then drops to below the 70 line when iget moving forward?

Anyone recommend a car seat for 9month old onwards that will sit in the rear seats properly? Cant find one anywhere and it means I'll have use the missus diesel golf :( !!

Passenger one has now decided not to move and the drivers side is begining to be awkward. any ideas please?

As everyone has or is suffering from this i've come to the conclusion its a factory fitted design feature!..lol I cant get air out onto the screen either and ive had a new control panel fitted.

its a bit of a nitemare... Cos the back seats are in effect bucket seats the baby seat doesnt sit in it properly and hangs over the front edge. The only way to get a child seat in the C is on the passenger seat and even then the seat has to be pulled right back as far as it can go otherwise the belt wont go round it!!....(unless anyone knows of longer belts) Evrytime I make the missus sit in the back as a result I have to convince her its worthwhile cos the cars a classic. 9 times out ten she insists we take the golf tho...poo Im hoping the front facing type seat will fit in the back tho..got me eye on a Child Recaro...lol

Dont adjust your heater controls and expect to get the desired air temperature or speed!!

Just got back from watching (or trying to watch) the start of the Gumball 3000 start in Pall Mall. The lead up was fine lots of very very nice motors to take piccies of and lurvly ladieeeees. But...then we got ready for the kick off. Got ourselves in a great position at the front, just past the start line and more importantly past the press pen and settled in to watch..and hey prestos the so called "stewards" decided that the press could now spread out further along and block everybodies view!! including the poor kid in a wheelchair who'd be waiting since 11am to see it all but couldn't cos the press wallys and all their bloody hangers on stood in the way. The steward supervisor bless her tried to keep it under control but the coppers weren't interested and the other morons masquerading as fellow stewards couldn't have given a fishes tit. Even had one of the organisers of the rally saying we should stop complaining cos we hadn't put any money into it....nice one!!! Sod that we'd waited 4 hours to make sure we could see everything just to have the press core f##'k it all up for everyone. The organisers next year should think a bit more about the organisation of it rather than just how much money they are making!!! and ditch SFM stewards cos they are totally crap and did their image no good at all.!! Gotta nice sun tan tho!!...lol

spend a bit more and get the Sony 1giga panel. Its black with white led and the good thing is you download the music you want straight onto the head unit itself and dont need usb cables everywhere memory sticks or anything..It'll read mp3 and wma files too. The sound is good too

buy one thats had the major stuff done...ive had mine a year and its cost me £250 for heater control, £160 for service and tune, £1.50 for a pack of fuses. £30 a week on fuel... that aint bad in my book!!!.

best i've had recentlt is 33...115 on the oil and the water temp goes up to 110 when static, then i start moving and it comes down to less than 70deg..poor needle gets sea sick!!

Easier said than done mate! and if you can find one they're usually pretty pricey :( know what you mean...had mine replaced cost £250!!!! and the new one is pretty crap too. Is there anyway of just recycling the air or is it always using fresh?? outdoor air ? I cant switch the incoming air off totallly at all?

We could do with a hit squad to go and visit this guy and knock some sense into him!! 3 things worry me.... 1. If his pushchair wont fit in the boot then the answer is to buy a bloody pushchair that will not sell the car. 2. If the missus insists on the oversized pushchair then surely she must be prepared to walk everywhere and not travel by car?? 3. Ive picked up 2 small chips in my windscreen not even as big as a 5p piece. Trouble is they are both on the drivers side of the screen. Will this balls up an mot pass?

Well..I would suggest Sprayrite in Brinkworth near Swindon. Just picked my C from them today having had the 2 ruddy dents dealt with that some arse left in my passenger door and near side rear wing in ASDA car park a few weeks back and they've done a superb job. Ended re spraying the whole of the near side of the car...£250 plus vat. Took em 2 days. Big thumbs up!!

dont wear bloody jeans for a start! They tend to have studs on the back pockets that make a lovely scrape down the seat as you get in every time..as i discovered when I did it!!!..bol@@ks!!!!

Having probs starting the car when the engine is hot..cold start is pretty instant but when the engine is hot it takes up to a dozen engine turns to fire up!! Any ideas?

cant this be repaired rather than replaced with cloth tape or exhaust repair stuff? aah..that might explain why I'm get a very strong fuel smell when starting up in the morning!! My fuel consumption isnt bad tho 30-32 on a long run and about 28 round town. Would the split pipe affect the starting when the engine is hot too?

yeehahh...!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a god and he's alive and well and living near Swindon.. Thought I had theis job to do..had my knuckle repair kit ready and swearing phrase book to hand!! only to notice that the plug at the back of the light had worked loose and just needed a friendly push back into place!! Get in there!!!! Seems this is the week to do the lottery !!!...lol
