  1. Hi Most grateful to you. What frequency are the pulses ? Are the pulses matching the chatter of the injectors ?
  2. Hi How far away are you from London ?
  3. Hi Can you hear it buzzing with the ignition on.
  4. Hi Supplied 12v to the ISV in isolation. All I hear is a click when it opens. What makes it buzz when on the car ? Should it buzz when tested in isolation ?
  5. Hi Turn the ignition on. Using a metal pipe or a stethescope, check that the ISV is buzzing
  6. Hi The connections to the temp sensors on the right side of the head can be swapped. Anybody tried piggy-backing a sensor, i.e. connecting two connectors to the same sensor. I wonder what will happen.
  7. Hi Just measured the resistance of a plug, I was surprised to see 5000 ohms. Is that normal ? With 6000 ohms of the lead, that makes 11000 ohms. So what voltage will the spark be ? Whats the point of the high resistance of the plug ?
  8. Hi Clean out the ISV Clean out the throttle body. Put up a few under the bonnet pictures.
  9. Hi The plugs are very deep in the golf engine. Please put up a picture of the 2 compression gauges especially of the adapters used. The other thing is did you have a fully open throttle when testing.
  10. Hi The cold start injector only squirts petrol when you crank the engine to start it and it is a cold day. So by disconnecting it, you will be relying on the petrol from the rest of the 4 injectors to fire up the engine, which will be plentiful.
  11. Hi That is easy to fix. We dont really need this injector in the UK. Just disconnect the electrical connector to it.
  12. Hi Any idea how it works and what its function is. It has an electrical connection. Is this a power feed to an electrical solenoid inside? If so can we hear it working as we can an ISV. Thanks in advance. ANT thanks for the lovely photo.
  13. Hi Lead 3 has a weak looking spark. Checked the resistance and it was ok at 8000 ohms. The inside of the dizzy has very clean terminals. What could be the reason for the weak spark?
  14. Hi !6v KR Where is the fuel pressure regulator. If it is in the metering unit, then which bolt is it in.Cheers in advance.
  15. Hi Apparently, the banjo bolt feeding the unit, has a wire gauze in it. This can be removed and cleaned and put back.
  16. Hi Thank you. Is it the 6inch deep lead from a 16valver. If it is ,what brand are the leads.
  17. Hi I missed it. Hampster was testing a VR6 corrado. On Dave tonight.
  18. Hi Thanks. The dizzy end of the lead has a wire clip that I can see. This clip grabs the neck of the 'thread-in-the-middle-of-the-dizzy'. But I cant see any such clip on the plug end of the lead. If you can confirm the plug end of the lead with a photo, that will be great.

Hi I am no good with photos. If you put up a photo I can show you which sensor it is.

    startup problem

Hi The oil temp cant be 176f when you start it frst time. What is the mileage? Does it rev high when you start first thing ? It could be a lot of things. As for the temp sensors there are 3 spade connectors near the dizzy. The wires can be swapped.
  21. Hi Glad it is sorted. Can you please put up a picture of the inside of one of the ignition leads, the plug end. Cheers.
  22. Hi I need a picture of the inside of 1.8 16v ignition lead plug end. I cannot see what grabs the neck of the plug. If it is just a sit on top, then surely warm weather can cause misfires.
  23. Hi That lead according to the photo is Lead no. 4.
  24. Hi next time it happens, open the bonnet and swap the spade connection on the temperature sensor used by the ECU. See if that cures it.
