  1. Looks awesome! Have you noticed any performance or noise gains?
  2. KADVR6 I reckon you would certainly get offers from folk on here. Me for one 8)
  3. Welcome to the forum buddy. Your not alone with damp there. It seems that at some point all Rados seem to suffer from it. Another common cause are the sunroof drain tubes located at all 4 corners of the sunroof when its slid back. Assuming yours will slide as this is yet another common Corrado prob!!! With the roof slid right back, get yourself a bike cable or guitar string and shove it down the tubes to get rid of any cack that may be causing a blockage. Good luck! :)
  4. Definitely go for the loctite/gauze combo. Used this on a previous car with no probs whatsoever. Apart from achy arms waiting for it to bond lol!! Suprising how many hard knocks the mirror can sustain afterwards to. Should be fine next time you find a blown fuse spicyG60 :-P
  5. Your seats are lookin' awesome mate. Hats off for having the nads to have a go. I always admire folk who can seem to turn their hand to anything and succeed. Could have yourself a nice little profitable side line on the go there i reckon. Hint hint!!
  6. And a heat shield engine side too.
  7. Anyone here using or used that Castrol or Valvoline high mileage oil thats specifically made for higher mileage engines funnily enough? Think their both 10w/40 but not sure. Could be an option for you skinnyman as its supposed to condition seals that get tired and worn in high mileage engines. Its obviously not a substitute for rebuilds but may help with your pending MOT issue.
  8. Defo wait until the noise becomes louder. I had a car with a fecked wheel bearing that with spinning the wheels by hand was undetectable. My mechanics advise was to wait till it got louder to make it easier to detect which bearing was faulty.
  9. I have a Longlife full system fitted at the Cardiff branch on my 1990 1.8 valver, and the fit is A1 perfect with absolutely no banging, rubbing or rattling and its been on 5 months now. My mechanic even commented on how well it was fitted. He said if it wasn't obviously s/steel looking he would have thought it was factory fitted. Its not to noisy either. Theres a fairly deep tone between 2000-3000rpm then it tails right off. Best bit is that its silent on the motorways....lovely!!!
  10. I always note down the mileage my car has whenever it goes into a garage to see if it has been unessesarally (spelling) driven around. Have a few friends who work(ed) in garages including main stealers who like nothing more than a sporty car being booked in. One story told was when a Rado VR6 was being delivered back to the customer by a mate of mine who worked for VW as a driver/valeter. He still fondly looks back on the time he had the speedo reading 80mph in 2nd gear overtaking 3 articulated lorries on the A59...WTF!!! :shocked!: The car had only gone in for a valet! I've never trusted the shiny facade of main dealers ever since. They still have the same grease monkeys working out the back lol!! :)
  11. Let us know how it performs as soon as you get it fitted, top man!
  12. My water temp stays just under half on the guage in traffic and slightly lower when driving. I haven't used the car in a summer yet though. My oil temp is regularly in the 100c. Usually hovers around 102-108 in traffic and 98-102 when moving. 1.8 16v with 123k.
  13. I've no idea what it could be, but i did a test on how many miles i got from £30 of tesco 99 RON doing town driving only on my 1990 1.8 valver with 123k. I managed 195 miles. Only reason i tested was due to a lot of queries on mpg for our old valvers, and remembered someone here said they get 185-200 miles from £30. Seemed optomistic to me hence the test. Unfortunately my mfa reads 99'9 so can't tell you what its registering. Yours does seems thirsty to me though, though i'm far from an expert. I would say that 1.8 and 2.0 are olde technology, hence CorradoVR6 n.o.s much improved mpg with a modern engine of same capacity.
  14. I had a full s/steel exhaust fitted a few months back at Longlife Exhausts in Cardiff for £289 all in. The tailpipe design choice for the price was either a stupidly big oval that only a 17yr old chav would have found appealing, or a nice oem look oval the same diameter as standard, albeit silver rather than black. I opted to pay an extra £30 for a slightly larger oval which is angled rather than cut straight at the end and is the tailpipe Longlife fit to S type Jaguars. It looked so much classier than the small oem look and filled the bumper aperture much nicer. Worth noting though that the sales guy said he would give a 10% discount for being a member of the Corrado forum :) Performance wise i didn't notice any improvement, however i had only just taken my car out of 5 months storage so the car was improving performance wise on a weekly basis as the miles racked up. Then 1.8 valvers are never gonna win many traffic light grand prix's!!
  15. RADO K-- not to mention the figure of 8 joints and the other 2 ball joints that are likely to be fecked! Parts alone are £1200 (£600 a side) then theres fitting. Good for 60k though once their done. Awesome car with wicked reliability. RILEY-- the 200's look awesome mate. The later spec ones (S14a) anyway with the mean looking front. Mate of mine just flogged one and there huge fun.
  16. Awesome job there mate. How satisfying that must have felt when you stood back to admire your own handy work. Make sure you post up piccies of the final result :thumbleft:
  17. I saw a white coded one and it looked real poo. As said above, it would scratch to buggery. My car runs standed ride height and still catches now and again on inclined driveways and dodgy backstreets. I'd just go to town on blacking it right up with black plastic trim stuff as it looks wicked like this IMO rather than when they get all tired and grey looking.
  18. With you there brother lol!! Not looking forward to my first bill.
  19. CRASHER--as far as i'm aware the matrix aint leaking. No funny smells or leaks and the heaters work like a blast furnace. Not sure if the matrix was done b4 my ownership though. Is there a link there then mate?? DUB-- Ok will do, but where is it?!! and is there just one? There is a white sensor and a brown sensor on the oil filter mount, are they the ones?
  20. Its the 400bhp FQ400 that has the 4.5k service intervals. Would have thought the 360 and under would be 6k. Either way not cheap! One of the accepted traits of turbocharged cars i'm afraid. Everything is that much more stressed and they're needy on oil and spark plugs. I had an Uno Turdo once and the service schedule according to the service book was every 6k (incl oil) plus an intermitant oil change every 4.5k :shocked!: It was a chuffin' Uno man!!!!!!! WTF
  21. The letter has up to 2wks to get to you. If it arrives after this then they cant do owt. And if 2 wks has past and you aint received one then your in the clear. You should be fine at 35mph though.
  22. I havent got a clue how to do either unfortunately. I'd love to have a piccy of my humble C under me name
  23. Yup thats right. The letters do denote the area the car was/is registered. I have an old Escort with CCK. These letters are for Preston & the Fylde and the car was registered in Blackpool (Fylde).
