    Wheels!

Jeeze the first ones man!!! That 2nd set don't suit at all
  2. I got German Style pressed steel from Dubmeister, and touch wood have had no probs with the law. I think you're more likely to get stopped if the plates have dodgy spacing or are in italic. So long as the plate is clear to read and properly spaced their prob not going to draw much unwanted attention.
  3. The Gallagher brothers and nipples in the same sentence, nuff said!!!!
  4. Ta for the postin' the link Herisites . WOODY280TT - Looks a decent bargain you got yourself there. Can't see how straight the bodywork is from the pics though, but an engine rebuild not long ago is gotta be a bonus. Good work fella. Bet you were watching that auction like a hawk haha!!!
  5. Don't buy a C expectin' you're bank balance to remain static
  6. I agree. Judging by how much the the Fox has shortened i doubt very much if any car would have staved off such an impact. Even a 5 star rated car with a long bonnet wouldn't have stopped the lorry from entering the front seat area. CRITICAL_MASS - i'm not sure when NCAP was introduced but i think it was only in the last few years, maybe this side of year 2000????
  7. Jesus. Thats awful. I just hope he doesn't have a family who will find out their son, husband, father or boyfriend is on various websites. Very, very sobering viewing. Kill the speed people, but more importantly, always concentrate on your driving. If the Fox is a 4 star NCAP car, just what the heck is a pre-airbag 17yr old Rado gonna be??? I reckon they would struggle to muster a 2 star rating. What do you reckon??
  8. G60JET- I'm a copper mate (a tidy one so don't hold that against me!!) and we all have to complete the course so we can use the blues & two's for response calls. reekieVR's summary is pretty much spot on with a lot af the course i did. And the book he mentions 'ROADCRAFT' The Police Drivers Handbook is the one i had to read from cover to cover for the exam i mentioned. Its all about the system of car control and driving from A-B as quickly, but more importantly, as safely as possible by reading the 'limit points' of the road. A limit point is the furthest point of the road that you can see when you're driving. For example:- 1) If the point stays static when you're approaching it you're at the correct speed. 2) If the point moves away from you you can take the bend faster. 3) If the point starts to move towards you then you're carrying to much speed and need to slow down before you get to the bend. The book is well worth buying. Its all about reading the road, surroundings, other road users and throwing you're observations right out ahead of you so you are prepared way before you get to that point. :)
  9. Jeeeeseus! Did nobody have any idea how to style a modded car back then lol!!!
  10. Travelling should never put you off a potentially good car. To buy my Rado i set off on the 550 mile round trip at 4pm. Got inevitebly lost, got there at 10.30pm and pitch black therefore breaking one of my golden rules of never looking at a car in the dark. Did my best to examine it, looked through all the paperwork and docs, then put trust in my many years of looking at and buying cars and put a deposit on it. Drove all the way home, got in bed ar 3.30am and had to be up at 5.30 am to do a 12hr shift at work. Then of course i had to do the trip again to pick it up lol!!!! What i tend do it is to use it as an excuse for a road trip. Get a bunch of mates together, look where the nearest town is to where the car is located, book youerselves into a b+b and go on the lash. You can view the car all weekend then with no rush. And lets face it, theres nowt better than hitting a town where nobody knows you haha!!!
  11. I completed a 3 week response course 2yrs ago to enable me to use the nice blue flashing lights and sirens. 5 days a week for 8hrs with 2 other people on the same course  The instructor was awesome and really pushed you through the A roads, B roads, Motorway and through the lanes. I had to pass an exam on the system of car control and the Highway code before i was even allowed on the course. Plus i even did skid pan training. And after all that (which is recognised as an I.A.M license) some insurance companies said it would cost me more a year if i disclose that i had passed the course....WTF!!!! :shocked!: F****n insurance companies. Rant over!
  12. Why do people ruin an AWESOME modded car with fookin AWFUL interiors. Less is more sometimes. Seriously cutting down the potential buyers with a crap interior like that. IMHO of course!!

    running 95ron

Surely it has to be wrong that V Power is sold under that name in Ireland when the whole advertising garb surrounding the fuel is its high octane properties. That must be blatant false advertising. If your V Power is only 95 ron it begs the question what the heck is the octane rating of your standard Shell fuel? What about Tesco's high octane fuel Klin, that stuffs 99 ron too and i used it in my imported GT4 with no noticable differance from UK v-power. Much cheaper as well.
  14. DAVIDWORT- Cheers for the advice on the amount to lower. I wasn't aware that a 50-60mm drop would affect the wishbones. 40mm it is then :) I'm just thinking that in this day and age you would be able to buy a decent set-up for the £250 mark?? Especially for people who are only looking for a decent ride and a lower look. Surely theres a fixed set (not coilovers) that are decent quality for £250 ish??
  15. The age thing has prob got as much to do with my car too. It creaks and moans now like an old cart horse lol!! I shall check the link thingies now. I'm useless on chuffin' computers, hence posting the question
  16. Apologies everyone if this has been covered. All i want is a lowered set up that doesn't ride like it has no suspension and a drop of approx 50 mill on a budget of £250 for my 1990 1.8 valver. I'm not aiming to turn the car into a track day weapon and i'm not one for driving round every bend on 2 wheels (to olde now see) so an all singing all dancing coilover set up for £500 would be wasted on me lol!!! 1) is the above possible? 2) which makes and models are best? I still want to achieve a decent ride quality but i am aware that there is a trade of in comfort when lowering a car which i don't mind. Many thanks peeps :)
  17. Never been stuck in traffic? You wanna bring it down to Cardiff  As above, the cap does undo to relieve pressure. Maybe get a garage to check the coolent system out.
  18. I second the above mate. Its really not worth the hassle doing yourself when a garage wont charge the earth to do.
  19. I popped my badge off by removing the gear knob and pushing a philips screwdriver inside the knob pushing the badge off. Tried prising the badge off but it started to damage it as it was well stuck down. Best to push it off from inside.
  20. VW CHICK we call "blue light taxi's" "Panda cabs" here in Cardiff  MICHAEL M Corrado's aren't a ride i'd normally pull over so you should be ok. As mentioned earlier its the manner of driving more than anything usually. If you look a young 18 then that may get you stopped. But i find that the young lads in their jazzed up saxo/corsas have insurance etc because they cant afford not to coz they know they'll get tugged sooner or later just for being young in a sporty car. The Traffic cops do tend to stop old cars though as these are more likely not to have insurance, but i've always been fine and all my cars have been olde
  21. Nice lookin' motor you have there dudette!! 8) As for the £1800 purchase price i reckon you bagged yourself a good deal by there. I paid £2000 for a 1990 G reg 1.8 valver wiv 117k on the clock. A well deserved job well done :D
  22. I think the crash has improved the Veyrons questionable looks!!
  23. I just love tips like these. Nice one matey
  24. Wow! Kinda making me wonder what state mines in after 123k
