  1. C. WILL CORRADO G60 2-- With him agreeing to speak again shows he knows he hit your car and is to blame (maybe not in the eyes of the law) otherwise he'd have told you to sling it straight off and denied it. If i were you i'd try and have a third party present when you speak and try to steer him into admitting he was parked by your car. That way at least you have an independant witness to what was said. And i'd get a good honest quote for the repair that he is likely to accept other than shafting him for a whole bumper spray if its possible to repair that way. That way your not out of pocket and it gets resolved ammicably (spelling) :) Oh, and as everyone knows, the first rule of any collision is NEVER accept responsibility!!
  2. A brave, brave man, but just goes to show that if you throw caution to the wind every once in a while good things can happen. a defo result there matey and WELCOME :D Just for comparisons, i paid 2k last May for a 1990 1.8 16v with FSH and 117k and i'd just like to say i'm not jealous in any way, ahem!

I tried joining the CCGB months ago. Sent off my username and password which were accepted, then heard nowt. They're prob too posh or summat!!
  4. Reminds me of a R5GTT i once saw many moons ago in one of them chav mags. It was running 2 tuned 200bhp 1.4 GTT engines and 4wd :shocked!: A stripped out roll caged 400bhp quarter mile weapon!!!!!
  5. D90's all the way mate. May be a bit biased as i've picked up an as new set with mint tyres for £250! Just need the funds to buy adaptors now

    Spoiler

My 1990 1.8 valvers spoiler goes up at 50mph on the nose.
  7. Not to knowledgeable on the old body shop kind of thing, however people do have new rear quarters put on after a smash. I'd imagine it wouldn't be cheap though and if fitted badly would look awful and stand out a mile. If you go down this route i'd take it to a reputable bodyshop who know what their doing. I remember about 10 years ago looking at an H reg RS Turbo at a dealers with a sprayer friend and when walking up to the car he said "looks as though its had a new quarter that". Sure enough on inspection it had had a new rear quarter. Looked fine to me, but to someone in the know it didn't "sit right", and that was walking up to it!! Food for thought really matey, but it is do-able. Good luck.
  8. I've sprayed 2 sets now. Pretty much as cheesewire did. I stripped the paint off the wheels first using paint stripper before sanding them down nicely with good ol sandpaper. Then put 1 good coat of primer on, 2 coats of silver then 3 coats lacquer. To save time i used a heat gun (the ones used to strip paint off wood) between coats so i could go from primer to lacquer all in one day! In effect "baking" the paint on lol!! I left the wheels a good 24hrs to harden before driving the car and hey presto, they looked fab and went through a miserable salty Northern winter with no probs whatsoever. Give it a go fella, the worst you can do is waste 30-40 quid and you'd only maybe get one wheel professionally refurbed for that. Oh, and i left the tyres on during the whole process. Just used plenty of newspaper and masking tape on the tyres. Or you could grease the sidewalls coz paint wont stick then.
  9. Welcome to money drainer ownerage lol!!!
  10. Seems to be all part of the "fun" of Rado ownership!
  11. The lamp and warning buzzer seem to have a mind of there own. On some journeys they come on and on others they don't. Oil & water levels are spot on and the car drives fine. Bizzarely, if i give the full beam a quick flash the buzzer stops. Then starts again! Which sensor would i need to replace if any, and where is it located in the engine bay? Prices & part numbers would be cool too. My car is a 1990 1.8 valver with 122k on the clock. Your infinite wisdom is much appreciated :notworthy:
  12. Just taken a peep at the Stroeve effort. The price is actually in Euros not pounds, so should only be about 100 quid. Looks awesome but i'd like to get feeback from someone who's running one before i parted with me brass! Matty Nequay, i reckon you should ditch the K&N/snorkel combo and buy a Stroeve
  13. MAVE-- the irony is i to was always taught to check if its in gear b4 starting it up, and always check b4 doing so. A valued lesson learnt. Never start a car when your not sat inside lol!! HERISITES--- the thought had crossed my mind. However i had to take partial blame coz i shoud have checked it wasnt in gear!
  14. As much as i really like my G reg valver and touch would it has never let me down since i've owned it (6,000 miles), i REALLY miss my L reg Celca GT4 WRC. It was the first Jap car i'd ever owned and i would not hesitate in buying another. That car really did turn heads with its mad styling. Huge rear wing (standard) phat front end with all the lumps, bumps and vents on the bonnet with 255bhp as standard and 4wd!! 8) They have all the toys too, and and are way rarer than Corrado's. I owned it for 15mnths and must have put at least 12k on the clock (twas in kms so not sure) and the only thing that i needed to do in that time was replace the radiator (£100 nearly new) and a front wheel bearing (£55 all in).

Welcome matey. With 9yrs of Corrado ownership i bet you have some tales to tell lol!!
  16. C WILL CORRADO G60 2----The person who damaged your bumper and drove off has commited an offence by failing to report a road traffic collision and failing to stop afer an RTC. Both of which he/she would go to court for. Unfortunately tho, unless you happened to take down the registration of the offending vehicle there aint much that can be done. Unless there is cctv nearby? If there is, you would need to report the RTC to the police asap so they can check the footage before it is automatically wiped.
  17. Loving that turbo Mk2!!! WELCOME TO THE FORUM :)
  18. I managed to prang my Rado without even being sat in it :( Scene 1) Whilst at work i was parked next to a wall and was checking all fluid levels. Scene 2) Work mate walks up and says "You mind if i sit in it"? "Go for it" i exclaimed. Scene 3) Much "fiddling" is done inside by said work mate before alighting from vehicle. This is followed by mucho comments on interior/exterior condition before walking off. Scene 4) Having not observed what "fiddling" was done, i duly reached in and fired the engine up and to my horror, panic & suprise he had put it in gear and as my front wheels were turned, my lovely ickle C turned into the wall scraping the side of the front bumper and scraping & denting the flared bit of the wing by 2 inches  Scene 5) WHAT THE ****!!!!! :mad2:
  19. Not sure about the headless chap in the 2nd picture though!
  20. SAMWIRE- theres a VW specialist in DARWEN called Catterals if your struggling. Its near the town centre. I've never used him coz i live in Cardiff now but my mechanic i used when i did live there took his Mk2 Golf Driver (which i sold him) there to have a new heater matrix fitted. Knowing him he wouldn't have used them if they were poo.
  21. Gotta be defo worth 2k easy. I paid that for my G reg valver last May. Its in very good original condition, had 117k on the clock with FVWSH, 2 owners and no mods. Theres always someone who'll pay top dollar, especially if your not in a rush to sell.
  22. Thats awesome news. I just hope the other charges he faces will add to his sentance and not be taken into consideration to mop up the undoubtedly high autocrime stastistics so the stats look good for the public. The little w****r has been caught, lets hope the "great" British justice system doesn't let you down now mate.
  23. As awesome as they are and you wouldn't need any other super car in the garage ( if you had the means ) i just think they look chuffin awful. Maybe they look so much better in the flesh. That colour combo is rank to. Reminds me of those gangster wing tip shoes.
  24. Last VR6 i saw with low miles ( 50k FVWSH ) was 2yrs back in the Northwest AutoTrader. It was dragon green with leather, one owner from new jobbie and stated it was the best you will find etc. Cannot remember if it had aircon or what year it was exactly but do remember it was a late one. Anyway, he was asking £7995 for it. It wasn't in the mag the 2nd week tho, so it either sold or he only advertised it for 1 week.
