Repair sunroof, problem half way through........now with pic
jonnyboyo replied to skinnyman9000's topic in Interior
I hate sunroofs. They don't cool you down, the sun beats down on your head, then it shines in your eyes, there's a terrific roar at cruising speeds and they all eventually break and/or leak. And thats if they don't go rusty. -
Saves waxing! Lawn mower anyone!!

Prob 3 times the price though, but way cool 8)

I'd hate to drive a common car such as a Ferrari. The shame of it

I miss my Blitz Super Sound blow off valve :( :(

IMO its only the VR that will ever become a truly sought after classic of any description, so i wouldn't worry to much about going for a valver. Speed wise, they're always going to feel slow compared to a Skyline. I went from a 255 brake GT4 to a 1.8 valver. And yeah, its got nowhere near the pace or torque. I can now no longer pee off Boxter 'S' and other fancy cars, but hey, i put a hell of a lot less motion lotion in. And after a while when you get used to the car it can still feel good and surprise you :)

TURBO!!!!!! Drooooool   -
Just Googled Mattig and put my cars details in as a 53i chassis which brought up a badgeless grille for 48.40 euro's. The car pictured with grille looked an early Rado, it had the early bonnet anyway.

HERISITES i once saw a Clio 182 do the traffic light grand prix with a Lotus Elise. There was nowt in it  POLL250 those 20v Fiat Coupe's are well quick. I went to York raceway few years back and there were 2 coupe's doing the run, and beating all the Sierra Cosworths in the process.

Thats not bad.......hmmmmm!!!

When it comes down to it, we're not going to be much competition to a car that weighs as much as a shoe and 120bhp :(

JAY2 don't be to disheartened man. Them diesels are feckers. Was the only thing i kept away from when i had my GT4 (255bhp). GOLDIE I remember years ago being a passenger in my mates Nova 1.4SR (the face-lifted ones with the lower ratioed gears) and we had a do with a 1.8 valver. Was embarrassing for the C i'm afraid to say. We got to a ton and we were just loving its rear bumper. The Nova was stock as you like, but i think those gearboxes had a lot to do with it coz they took off like a scolded cat. I drove a pre-facelift 1.4SR and it was pretty pants.

how long would that last on the various systems....approximately?

If you had a choice of a woman bra-less or with bra, which are you gonna choose?......Exactly. Take the hideous covers off chaps/chapesses and show the world you're gleaming paint you've spent thousands on. I mean you wouldn't buy an expensive painting fol the living room and turn it towards the wall so as not to let the dust and sunshine get to it

Did i just hear him say...."No other bicycle performs like that"?!!! Got bored of him waffling, had to turn him off in the end. Awesome speed though :)

Yeah,i'm going to hang fire until funds allow for a full set-up. Thinking of the Weitec Ultra GT kit. Seems well priced as i'm only after a subtle drop for the looks, and a bit more handling.

All car hi-fi shops sell them, including all the mail order specialists in the back of mags. Just ring round to get the best quote. Should cost around the £60 mark, give or take.
-
Excellent advice. A sports set-up it will be, when fundage allows.
-
Chers for that Dink. If its only a few quid i may as well fit a new one.
-
Aah, a bit bouncy then?

The common mod is to swap the inlet cam from a 1.8 (kr) valver for your inlet cam. This alone i'm told by the 2.0l peeps gives a noticable increase in power. One post said as much as 15bhp. Then fit a performance panel filter in your airbox and possibly drill the box to, on the wing side only.
-
Wow. I would never have realised that! I bow to your knowledge :study: Cheers matey.

The earth strap on the passenger side bulkhead that attatches to the bonnet in front of where the scuttle filter thing is, snapped today. Do i need to replace it asap, or can i leave it a few days? Don't relish my car going up in flames or owt

Does dampness effect the distributor or starter motor...?
jonnyboyo replied to maxveins's topic in Engine Bay
I'd change the dizzy cap and rotor arm as a matter of course as they're both cheap parts. A hairline cracked dizzy cap will let moisture in and cause problems.
