  1. yeah ive got these on my dash board just below the my heated seat controls, is this it? if so i thought it was for the seats. anyway how does this work then?? when you press norm or max is the aircon on then?? And at the same time you post to say you've found the buttons! Straight to the a/c place then and get it vac checked and gassed 8)
  2. I hate to be negative here but does nobody else think that if the buttons are missing there's a fair chance that someone has removed them at some stage due to a problem with the a/c? It's not like the Diavia install is the most reliable part ever fitted to a Corrado is it??? Probably the best place to start is and aircon specialist, see if the system will vac down and hold vac first. If it does you're onto a winner. Do a search on here and you should be able to find the Diavia wiring diags, check out all the wiring and give it a try. All you're waiting for then is a summer to test it on
  3. You said just what I was thinking there dinkus, in a loud colour with the right alloys it could still be pretty close to the original concept. At the end of the day, VW are in the market to make money, if they go with something really radical and too expensive they'll be in danger of selling even less Scirocco Mk4s than they did Mk3s.
  4. Back in the days when this thread was about getting the head skimmed (sorry,"resurfaced") I'd have said that there's no point thinking about compression ratios when skimming, (sorry, resurfacing) a VR head as it's flat, has no combustion chambers and therefore makes no difference to compression ratios how much you skim (sorry, resurface) off. As it is now about lasagne I have to disagree with said cheese mix and suggest mature cheddar and fresh parmesan  Oh, and Magnex.
  5. They should be the same in all Corrados, nothing specific about the valver as far as I know. I used a Jetex one because AFAIK VAG don't make one that fits. Ordered it direct from Jetex for about £20 delivered. http://www.jetex.co.uk/website/pollenfilters.php?mak=Volkswagen&mod=Corrado&qty_260=1
  6. Hahahahahahaha, that's all about to change, you think VR6 is pulling yer leg pointing you at all the where to go to fix it forums    Enjoy anyway, you're in good company here 8)
  7. You should always measure from the wheel centre to the lip of the wheel arch anyway, that then ignores any variation in wheels/tyres.
  8. Fixed mine with supreglue, still OK seven months later.
  9. That was the colour of my first Corrado, a 1990 valver. IMO the best colour they ever came in, wonder if I still have the touch up stick somewhere?
  10. £4.40+VAT from VW for the one I had a couple of months ago.
  11. Hmm, everything to hand there then, never stuck for pen when you need one!
  12. GTi R? It would end in tears
  13. Yes, every time, I do have Vagcom though so it's no problem. The write up states there's no point doing all the other stuff if you don't check the Basic Settings but the first time I read about the whole procedure in the Sprinter years ago there was no mention of this so I don't know for sure what's right. The engine definitely feels better after the first few minutes from starting though.
  14. Sometimes after the battery has been disconnected mine feels no different, other times it feels rough but does seem to improve after driving for a while. I go through the basic setting routine anyway, it's a good excuse to go out for a drive around for half an hour
  15. You gotta say that's a fairly comprehensive reply
  16. I'm more of the opinion that the wheels are "over-cared"?

    OK, forgiven this time

I knew somebody would comment as I was writing that, I just expected it to be dinkus!

    Glovebox

Can't say I've ever figured out a pretty way to do it and I've owned Corrados for 12 years now. Just get hold of the two sides, pull hard and wiggle the whole thing about, it'll come eventually. There can't be many have not been out at some time over the years for stereo and alarm installs. When I did the climatronic install mine was in and out loads to get the size right as I had to cut about three inches off the back and shape it a lot to clear the huge heater box, it does get easier with repetition!

    Mini Me

Welcome to the forum peppyuk, you wanna be careful hanging around here with all this talk of keeping it standard, they'll not let ya! It'll start easy, maybe some different lights or a couple of new gauges then before you realise it you'll be looking at inlet manifolds, exhausts, induction kits, and how about forced induction? Enjoy!
  21. I bought one from Machine Mart last year for about £130, it's ideal for small work in the garage and takes up very little room. They have a huge range to choose from so there should be something for every taste.

    roof strips

I trimmed the perished bit off mine and they look a whole load better. Still can't get rid of the white staining on the remaining part though no matter how much I try, has anyone had any success cleaning them up?
  23. Gonna be looking around £9.5K if you're interested??? Ebony black, full black leather recaro interior, black tints (sorta black really!), 265bhp with Revo map, Bose stereo, 18" RS4 reps and tar-ox front brakes.
  24. Last March I bought an S3 and the VR was going, in my eyes it was getting old, unreliable and I spend too much time away to leave my wife at home with a car she had to keep getting help with. After six months driving the S3 she decided that although she liked the comfort, power and everything else about it she still prefered the old Rado. As I had a couple of months between contracts I spent a bit of time sorting things out, tidied up the bodywork, refurbed the wheels, fitted climate control etc, I just added a Schrick for a bit more grunt. My next contract is out of the country again and we don't need a car parked in the garage for me, the Corrado stays, the S3 is for sale, enough said!
