  1. The S3 is reluctantly going on the market soon cos I'm going to be working away for a while. On the look out for grey leather recaros for the VR that's the first priority followed by VGI, 268s InPro lights all round with HIDs just to bring it up to date a little. Long term fancy buying an old C and grafting a complete R32 into it, 4x4 and all, helps having a spare garage where my project can live!

    Adding Air Con

What a spoilsport!!!!!!! Nobody could afford my daily rate! Oh and I go to Saudi in July for six to nine months, then looks like Vietnam followed by a long stint in Singapore, gonna be a long waiting list

    Adding Air Con

Not the first time I've been asked that one, the answer remains the same, no! Next time I do one it'll be when I build my own R32 in to Corrado 4x4 conversion and that's still some time in the future

    Adding Air Con

It cost me about £300 plus say five days of pretty hard graft and tricky wiring mods to fit the second hand climate control into mine from a Passat VR6. Worth every penny and minute of time though.
  5. Looks stunning  About time VAG built a new coupe, what's the chance of it ever making it to the dealers though?
  6. See this thread http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=54565 same story! Mine was broken for years, fixed it with super glue about 6 months ago and it's held so far.
  7. I looked into exhausts and stuff when I first got mine but reading up on audi-sport.net they seem not to make a deal of difference to performance and I decided not to bother. Of course if you're looking just for more noise it may be a different matter. I'm happy to keep mine comfortable for the 240 mile each way commute from home to work, a loud exhaust would do my head in on the motorway every week.
  8. Get it Revoed, stick in a better DV and you've got a whole different soundtrack. Of course it's still nowhere near a VR going up the box in full grunt mode
  9. Makes me feel happy, my 51 plate Ebony Black with RS4s and Revo will be up for sale soon as I'm off out the country for the next couple of jobs/years, hope I can get similar money with about 95K miles on the clock.
  10. It's always a good time to change your engine mounts, we all have old cars now and if they're the original ones you have they'll be well past their sell by date. As xbones said it's pretty much a stand alone job if suspension and brakes is where you're at, although if you've got the car on axle stands and the tools out, you may as well crack on with anything that needs doing.
  11. First place to spend your money is in the handling department. Let's just say that after driving a C on Koni coilovers for six years I found the S3 rolls a little, a set of ARBs is a fair investment.
  12. For a couple of badges, a colour coded grill and different wheels at that! I bought my Classic Green VR from Autotek in Surrey in Sept 2000 as he was something of a specialist at the time having 12 or so Corrados on the forecourt at any one time. When I went to collect it two weeks after doing the deal there was a green Storm for £500 more than I'd agreed for mine which really tempted me but in the end two young kids and a cream interior swayed us towards the one we'd settled on already. Of course if the Storm had Recaros..............................
  13. Maybe. More likely maybe not though, it's starting to look like as soon as I finish this job in Kent I'll be shipping off to Saudi for six months or so.
  14. I bought my valver in '95 the same time as a mate of mine bought the same. A year later the local dealer had two used Storms in the showroom, one with 25K on the clock, the other with 40K on it. They were both priced at £25K which was more than new??? We both swapped the valvers about the same time in 2000, me for the VR I have now and my mate for an M3 because he said he could not justify the £13-14K price tags I was looking at just for a VW. Shame they didn't go ahead with the VSR when originally designed but as you say, it was already too expensive a car that didn't sell very well.
  15. Sounds like I'm getting bullied into rejoining! I'm sure you can't get accused of hijacking the thread Butterfly, it did after all start as a question about VT front mounts  I'm home from Kent at the weekend so might just get chance to stick a cheque in the post no that my enthusiasm for the Corrado has returned! So KIPVW, your motor is one of the ones my mate saw at Woodhall services the other week when he was parked up in his 993? I almost drove up there to take a look when he called me to say you were there as I only live five minutes away but figured I'd arrive just as you left.
  16. Hello and welcome. Your wish list looks pretty much like mine except I'm after grey Recaros. Missed some on ebay a few weeks ago and still kicking myself :x
  17. It's just wrong having all those lined up like that. Jealous? Me? Never! :luvlove:
  18. As does the VSR It always looked to me like the runners on cylinders 2,4 & 6 looped further forwards on the Schrick to give a longer inlet tract and equalise overall length. I had to move the rad back to fit the condensor and there's not much room in there now between inlet and fan. I've been fancying a VSR as they're closer to standard but in the end I guess I'll mod it again to squeeze a Schrick in.
  19. Good to hear I'm not the only one with all the old Sprinters, I let my mebership slip some time in 2003/4 but have every one from the first photocopied stapled together sheets of A4 that was "Issue 1". Might join again if they let me keep my original membership number (058) You're right about the way it fixes to the cross member with just the big washer and nylock nut to hold it in place, I thought it looked a bit suspect too but figured they must have sold plenty since I'd first read about them. If things fell to bits I guessed I'd have heard scare stories some time in the last five yeras.
  20. The Schrick has different length headers too to make up for the asymetric design of the cylinder head. Should make it the better animal in reality.
  21. I found a "how to" in the Sprinter August 1999 issue, guess not everyone has this! It shouldn't be all that tricky to do, remove the bracket from the engine, you'll have loads of room then. I threw the lower plate away too but then there was no point keeping it as all three studs sheared off the crossmember rather than coming undone when I did mine, it has no further use anyway.
  22. If your deal falls through I'm only half an hour up the road from you and I've got a spare garage now the VR's back on the road
