  1. Did you get the wheels sorted mate, how did it look with 25mm adaptors? ---------- Post added at 05:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 PM ---------- and also how were the 195/45s over the 8s, im thinking of running that setup!!
  2. Cheapish, they definitely wont fit then?? ---------- Post added at 04:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:48 PM ---------- is it the width or the height of the tyres that stops them from fitting? I have 4 194/45/16 tyres at home on some old wheels so two of them would work on the front, wondering if there i could swap the 205/55ZR16 onto the rears?
  3. Im picking up the wheels tonight so just want to double check sizes, im worried now that the tyres are too big and will rub!!! Apparently got the following tyres: 2 of 6 x 16 with offset 52 fitted with Bridgestone RE71 205/55ZR16 approx 4-5 mm on both tyres 2 of 8 x 16 with offset 52 fitted with Bridgestone RE71 225/50ZR16 approx 4-5mm on both tyres Firstly 205/55 on a 6x16 wheel sounds odd so want to check he has got this right. But if he is right so you reckon it will work?
  4. I appreciate that, I think the rears will be fine, but its just the fronts im worried about. Is there any movement on price?
  5. My only concern is that they arent wide enough, ive got 8s for the rear, but 6s on the front and I dont think 25mm will give enough stance?
  6. Excellent! How much you thinking?
  7. Jackos are 4x100 so still looking for some if anybody has some!
  8. Just puchased some d90s for the rado, but no adaptors. Anybody got some they can sell me? Thanks
  9. are the wheels still available? any pics?
  10. Open to suggestions, mine have been ruined by a pot hole so need a new set asap. Always wanted some schmidts or Porsche d90s though so they would be a preference. Preferabally with tyres but would consider without, 15, 16 or maybe even 17s, what have you got??
  11. I dont know if it is you know, its only a set of wheels, and I would loose my NCB so dont think its worth it?
  12. Thanks Portent. My speedlines are barely legal but I'm going to need new wheels now so they may last until I get some. Jacko, thanks for the advice. On that note though, I wont be able to make this Saturday now as clearly not much point adjusting the ride height of the coilovers until I sort my new wheels, real shame though, was looking forward to it! We'll do it another time once the car is back to health! :(
  13. Apparently it had already been reported, to both the police and thames water..we also took a lot of pictures, all three of us, although didnt have a measuring stick so used my flatmates boot for scale and depth!
  14. On my way home last night I hit a MASSIVE pothole, full of water which made it very hard to see, and ruined two of my wheels. One punctured tyre, and both have huge dents in the rim (beyond repair) Whilst attempting to fit the spare (which didnt fit over my brakes, so had to call out my flatmate to bring me one of my speedlines) two other cars suffered the same fate, one Skoda puncturing his tyre, and then a mk4 golf that hit the pothole causing the whole engine to cut out, and then wouldnt start. Shortly after, a jag punctured its front tyre as well. Clearly this was not our fault, and I am going to do my damn best to get the council or whoever was responsible to pay for the repairs/new wheels, however does anyone have any experience with this, and can anyone offer any advice in terms of who i should contact and what I should say?? Its probabally worth mentioning that it transpired that both the police and thames water (there was a lot of water on the road) had been notified about the incident and nothing had been done, not even a warning sign..its a joke really!!
  15. I'm keen for a SE meet, Guildford would clearly be ideal but happy to go with the masses!!
  16. Thanks, so basically call VW and ask for 288mm pads for either mk3 golf VR6 or mk4 GTI.
  17. Thanks, but for which car?? ---------- Post added at 01:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:51 PM ---------- Thanks Coullstar - is there more than 1 option in terms of a donor car for 288mm calipers then?
  18. I have the 288mm upgrade on my VR, although not sure which car they came off. Which pads do I need, golf 3 VR6, golf 4? And any recommendations on brand?

  22. Very nice!
