I quite liked them too..unfortunately they are now ruined following a pot hole incident! :(
-
Just to get an idea of looks/stance/fit etc?
-
Only a rubbish phone pic. See above mate, hopefully get some this weekend. Keen to meet up soon mate.
-
Thanks mate. I actually regret selling the original grill, good to be able to change it up once in a while. Will hopefully have time to give her a clean and get some pics up this weekend - weather permitting!

In the interest of keeping this thread up to date; Having hit a mahoosive pothole and ruined my wheels I am now running a set of d90s, thanks to Bristolbaron for the adaptors, really happy with how they look for now, but they will be getting a full refurb in the spring. Have fitted KW V1s and new top mounts all round which is already a great improvement to the drive and handling etc. I have ordered the following which will be going on next week which should hopefully finish it off; Powerflex front wishbone bushes R32 rear wishbone bushes VAG lower ball joints VAG tie rod ends Front wheel bearings The car recently had a full service, and once the above parts are all fitted it will be going in for full geometry set up. Then time to focus on more power.

Good to hear..out of interest do you remeber what it cost you all in?
-
Yes following my last post I wrote down what ideally I would like to change pre alignment and the list got quite long. Am definitely going to do ball joints, top mounts were done very recently when I changed the suspension - was considering track rod ends but wasnt sure on wheel bearings!
-
I had planned on straight line toe and 1 degree (neg) camber so I wasnt far off. Thanks.
-
Supercharged, if changing wishbone rear bushes (which I understand are the ones that often fail etc, especially with lowered suspension?) would you recommend changing anything else at the same time?
-
Anyone? ---------- Post added at 02:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:58 PM ---------- On reflection I will make sure I do the bushes etc first, it makes sense to fit new parts etc before paying for a full set-up. However any advice on camber angle etc would be much appreciated.
-
Having fitted new wheels, suspension, top mounts etc I need to get the car geometry set up again. Firstly - I plan on replacing wishbone bushes in the near future, can this be done after the set up without throwing the new set up out? Secondly, I am running 16'' d90s (8s and 6s) with KW V1s (about 45mm drop) - how on earth do I work out correct camber settings, clearly factory setup (which I presume is all my garage will have) will not be correct. Thanks

Only you can answer that question really. It all depends on what you want to get out of the car and how much your willing to spend? You could spend a lot of money trying to get the 9a up to stock VR6 power, but personally I dont really see the point. Would be easier to just buy a VR. Personally, if you can justify spending the money and you want to see decent power either buy a VR6 (car or lump) & spend money on some sort of forced induction or go down the 20vT route.

Payment & address sent. Cheers. -
Nice. Good find.
-
Yeah I would check the ISV - quite a common problem with VWs full stop. It could be the wiring, or just in need of a good clean. Although I cant see why this would prevent it from starting, but could explain the lumpy idle/hunting.

Hi, sorry I completely forgot about this. Yes I do have them still but recently ruined one of my other wheels in a pothole incident and so was running the speedlines until I got my new set. In short, Im going to keep them as its definitely worth having a spare set of wheels just in case. I would have been screwed if I had sold them. Sorry mate.
-
Are they from a mk4 R32? How much were they? Dont suppose you have part numbers?
-
Tristan, yes I believe so but im sure someone else can confirm? Any updates on sorting this problem Sam, mine is pulling to the right a lot but I have just changed the suspension and wheels so need full 4 wheel alignment (tracking and camber doing) but thinking I will replace the wishbone bushes as well. Wondered if you have done this yet and if it cured the problem?
-
If i can find it, sure. I have a bag of trim bits that i will have a look through. If there is still one there its yours.
-
Definitely! Just spoke to the other chap who was the second car involved and TW called him today with the same news. They clearly realised they were at fault and have just decided to pay up - as they should! But really thought i'd have a long old fight on my hands!
-
Good news! Thames Water have replied within 2 weeks and offered to pay the full amount requested! Needless to say it's made my day!
-
Passenger seats definitely should have a lever to adjust the height, but they come off pretty easily, as far as I can remember they are held onto the mechanism with just a small screw that seems to have a habit of working itself loose and then bye bye handle. I think i might have a spare one somewhere if you cant find yours? However you can still adjust the height without it. just feel around for a thin flat piece of metal on the opposite side to the 'forwards - backwards' lever and push it up.
-
Jay, are R32 bushes a direct replacement/fit for front and rear wishbones? And what year R32? Thanks.

If I'm not too late put me down for 2 sets please. Thanks -
I was thinking only yesterday that I wanted an Alcantara steering wheel after seeing interior pics of the new C63 AMG. Looks awesome. Good work.
