jeffcabbage, your right, i really cant, i went for another KR in the end though as the 9a project was just gonna set me back too much, being a student and all! but if this engine is as good as im told then hopefully i will be a happy man for a fraction of the price! cheers for your help bud! will let you know if all is good when its done!

i certainly will, picking it up from cardiff on friday, having the head ported friday night and fitted saturday morning and should be done by saturday night! quite excited!

yes 17' wheels will fit if they arent too wide..mine is lowered 80mm on 17s with 215, 40, 17s and doesnt rub at all! as for the 16'' or 17'' question, all personal preference, running 17s gets a bit of getting used to but they dont bother me at all and i think look better!

i wouldnt say im a true dubber yet..but im on my way, only ever owned vws, 1 mk3, 1 mk2 gti and now my rado! id love an audi at some point though! .i cant really see myself driving anything but something VAG but who knows!

either way, it has new head gasket, new cambelt and tensioner and has 119k on the clock with history so ive bought it! YAY! guess its a gamble but im sick and tired of having a car that i cant drive over 5,000 rpm and that constantly belts out a load of smoke!

just spoke to him, he said he has had it tuned! god i wish i knew more about this kinda sh!t.

is it possible for a 1.8 16v KR engine to put out 160 bhp without any mods, just because its happens to be a really good engine??? it seems impossible but have found an engine on fleabay and the guy assures me he had it rolling roaded and got 161 bhp but has done nothing to the engine!!! im confused!!

yeah it is, but its only 'fun' when problems dont cost you a small fortune to fix...which can often be the case...lucky i love my car!

blue95, i was insured with C.I.S a few years back and they told me that if i had photographic evidence of the cosmetic mods on the car then they would be covered in the event of theft or fire! not sure if it applies to performance mods though, and/or if they still do it but could be worth giving them a dingle?? Lippy, im real sorry to hear about your C, gutted for you! hope the insurance all goes swimmingly!

so these philips bulbs SHOULD make a difference even without an uprated loom?? someone mentioned theyre hard to fit??? how come?
