2010 (60) Audi B8 Quattro Avant 2.0TDi 170 S-Line
mic_VR replied to BILLCOR's topic in Ebay and Misc
Looks fantastic Bill! Had a chat with the missus last night, she's a bit wary as we're just having an extension built and wasn't planning to do anything with cars until next year. I love it though, so I'm going to run through the numbers myself. Enjoy the R, saw a couple at Castle Combe on Saturday and I was really impressed. -

Mate! Didn't realise you were still not getting anywhere with this, thought it was all in the pipeline. Can't sell though after all that effort...surely? -
Right. Ordered some RS15's, £224, but they won't be here until Saturday so I'll run the remainder of the yellows at Castle Combe and replace with the RS15's once I'm home. Hopefully the yellows with a bit of heat will perform....OK.....
-
I may have found somewhere that'll do them for £224 but they're having to check whether they'll fit my calipers... But if they're as good as Kev says..... oh mama!

Autometrix VW/Audi Trackday - 15th August 2015

Bump! Anyone heading down Friday evening? -
If I could get them I'd be all over the RS15's right now. The Rota's are not precious wheels, so dust isn't an issue I just want braking! Working on the car last night it seems the yellow's still have loads of meat on them... the noise I thought was the wear markers was actually a slipped backing plate. Still fancy changing them though... I'm going to ring a few places today to see if anyone has a set of RS15's lying around. Kev, were your calipers CP5200's? Don't suppose you know what the pad numbers were for your RS15's?
-
£80 ish for the Yellows, £130 for the DS2500. Reviews swing between the two depending on which site your read, generally the ferodo seems road biased and yellows slightly track biased. One of the kind factors that I haven't yet worked out in bedding in time. I'm not sure I'll have enough mileage on my trip to Castle Combe to bed in the yellows....
-
Maybe I'll give them another try. They're 1/2 the price of the Ferodo. Mine are also very worn.
-
Hmm, see I'm running yellow stuffs at the moment and I've never been overly impressed.... but then I've never tracked them so the heat may not have gotten up in them... They are affordable though....
-
I know, thought I might be able to get a set somewhere but no joy. RST1 looks good but can't find anywhere that supplies specifically for the CP5200 caliper. Unless anyone happens to know what OEM vehicle they came on??? Thinking of trying either the Ferodo DS2500 as they seem similar in spec to the RS15's. Or the DS3000, although they are a track only pad and not great from cold.
-
So what are people running these days on their fast road cars? I'm after a new set for the AP's and originally I wanted Pagid Grey's (RS15) but unfortunately they don't seem to make them anymore...
-
Top garage! I'd be happy with a similar setup myself.
-
Welcome back, looks very tidy. Nice support vehicle to!

Had mine apart recently and put it back together with the gaskets only. They should be OK with just that provided all the surfaces are flat/free from contaminates etc.

Bump. Can't decide whether to book track sessions now or on the day... -
Yeah, got all my titles/plans etc but due to the 'general boundary' rule in the UK they aren't detailed enough to determine with accuracy purely from the drawing. I suspect it would be a surveyor job. Currently I'm thinking I'll butt my new fence up to the concrete posts as at the worst I'm giving away a thin strip of land, and at best I'm only meeting up with an existing boundary. I don't think the neighbours will complain as the hedge is in a bit of a state so a nice fence may be welcomed. Overall I'll gain garden space either way as the hedge is about 2.5-3ft thick! I've got to do something as at the moment I'm worried my back garden isn't secure to have a 3 year old running about, he'd easily be able to get into the other gardens if so inclined.
-
Anyone on here have a knowledge of land boundary issues? Having moved recently I want to place a fence at the rear of my boundary but there's never been a fence there before. I need to know whether I need permission, or how I define where I can put the fence given that the land registry plans have virtually no detail to them! Don't want to end up giving away a strip of land, or giving someone cause to open up a boundary dispute (not that I think they would as the old concrete boundary markers are still in place for the full length. Currently I get on well with my new neighbours but I know how funny people can be about stuff like this. Any help appreciated.

Rota Force's (17x8J ET35) and BBS CH's (17x8.5J ET35) both clear my AP 4pots
-
Sorry to hear of the car troubles Wayne, but that MG?! Woof! that is one fugly car..... Also, if you're after a car with no/very few issues is it wise to set your budget at sub £2k? Can't help but think you'll be having this issue again in a few months. Obviously this us all my own opinion....the ramblings of a madman some would say....
-
If you need a break mate you can come leave it on my drive and I'll look after it.....
