  1. Yeah, Castle Combe 15th August. Hopefully a few others will be in so should be a good day out. My AP's will go under a 16" wheel but it would need a fair amount of spoke clearance. That's the beauty of the Rota's I usually have on it, loads of clearance!
  2. I'll take the lot please Chris. I'll pm you shortly once I'm fully awake.
  3. If you were closer I'd let you borrow my gopro, it's great for getting views and noises from various angles. I've never been brave enough to leave it on the side of the road though and do a driveby video, would love to get one and a rolling shot from another car. Maybe need to rope a few people in at the next show I'm at. Moving from exhaust to induction noise sounds very similar to my techtonics system, which IMO is much better than some I've heard. And £400 with sports cat is an absolute steal! :thumbleft: Haha! The brakes are one of my favourite bits of the car, not sure I'll ever be done with them. You're welcome to experience them if you're going to the autometrix day in August, but be warned you will want a set!
  4. Consider page 7 duly checked and youtube videos watched. Sounds really good mate. BMC can be a bit of an overpowering noise when trying to film in the cabin but sounds great to me. If you have access to a gopro or similar then stick it on the rear bumper and you'll get nothing but exhaust tone.
  5. Looks good that's for sure, but how is it during everyday life? Noisy? Any knocking on the rear beam etc? Sound clip would be good.
  6. Hoping the weather holds for this on Sunday.... and allows me to get mine prepped beforehand!
  7. That one hasn't moved in 5-6 years. Made the guy an offer a little while ago and he said there's no way he's selling he's just waiting to do it up!
  8. USB mate, all modern tech and that! I'll try to get it back and I'll PM you for your address.
  9. Thinking a phonecall before driving down there? Yeah, vcds is vagcom basically. If I can get mine back I'm happy to send it to you, you'll just need a laptop to run it on.
  10. For the money you've laid out mate, I'd be on the phone to Vince. I'm sure it'll be something he can fix. I recently had a stuttering issue on mine (not a VRT but still...) and it was Lambda. You got access to VCDS?
  11. I do love a red corrado. Nice work!
  12. That's a stroke of genius with the bonnet. Looking forward to this coming together.
  13. I did call Nathan (JediKnight83) but he's now based in Essex and requires the car to be in a garage with suitable space to do the work at your house, which unfortunately requires a bigger garage than my single. The guy at Cambridge Concours has a unit so you can leave the car with them for a few days, plus he's done some work on the car before with great results so I know it's in good hands. Sure he'd be happy to help you out.

    New Number plates

Which ones do you mean? The black & silver ones? You can only run those if your car is pre-1973. I ran them on an old golf mk2 I had but always had the originals in the car with the excuse I forgot to take them off after a show. My plates should be on their way to me but I'll be getting some correct ones from Halfords if they either don't arrive in time or don't have all the appropriate legal marks.
  15. Yeah it's going to be interesting. Never really been much into detailing (Redborbet??) but looking forward to seeing a tangible difference. Apparently... there is a guy coming tomorrow from the VW owners club who saw the car on his FB feed and wants to have a better look at it. Hopefully I can get over myself to see it being finished off but that will depend on work
  16. Old Mincy is now with the detailer. Hopefully it'll be looking pimper than a pimp thing by tomorrow evening! Hopefully going to get a load of pictures to put on here but in the meantime the guy is going to update twitter/facebook apparently http://cambridgeconcours.com/concours/
  17. Make sure you've got a spare box?! Just in case....
  18. Praise indeed given your extensive (and awesome) wheel experience. Not sure why I wasn't completely taken with these the first time I fitted them, maybe it was the bumping up and down curbs to park at my old house. Now we've moved and it's on the drive or in the garage I feel a lot more comfortable they're not going to get damaged. May still run the Rota's as an everyday wheel though.

    New Number plates

Cheers guys. No idea why I didn't think about eBay. Now what's the chance of me getting them for Friday?!
  21. Cheers mate. It'll be looking even better on Thursday when I get it back from the detailer. Funny you should say that, was thinking similar. Guess I'd better sort tinting my spare lights to see....
  22. Hi All Anyone got any recommendations for places to get new number plates? Pressed if possible. Cheers
  23. Looks amazing Chris. Can't wait to see it in the flesh. What brakes are you going for? And where did you get the cover, I need one now mine's garaged?
  24. Chris, I'm not away now so hoping to make this. Great meet last time.
  25. Cheers guys, it does look good, especially the rear 3/4 shot IMO. Didn't really plan to put the CH's back on but the rota's aren't in a fit state for wedding car duties next weekend. And now they're on I may leave them on for a while as they do really suit the car.
