How much posted? -
Great! Id be up for one if it works.

Does anyone remember the 80's and 90's game Elite?
GusPW replied to Portent's topic in Off-topic Chat
I had it on the commodore 64, had no instruction manual as it was a second hand computer with a random jumble of games in a box, so i never managed to work out what it was all about. Tried to work out the controls but I always gave up random button pressing and resorted to Rtype or double draggon :-) -
Pair of fuse tray clips please if any left
-
Vw in reading had told me the trumpet bit was obsolete in the past, and I've seen people selling second hand ones for silly money but called them yesterday and ordered 2 using the part number posted earlier. About £8 each.
-
Ha ha, yea seperately. My phones always trying to catch me out! Think i need to try vw again tomorrow with that part number. Cheers
-
Is that available desperately now? My local vw made me buy the while cable to get one!
-
Whats the "nipple"? Is that the trumpet shaped stopper thing?
-
I've got one hidden behind the small plastic cover under the bonnet release handle in drivers side and the other is tucked under the dash in the passenger foot well. Couldn't put it the same place as drivers side because the abs ecu is there.
-
I think they do offer a mobile service but they've got a spray shop near my work in reading.
-
Cheers, Had seen them on vwspares but needed it faster. Got gsf to order in a beru one for me in the end.
-
Didn't realise that! Definitely interested in wings now.
-
They offered to touch up the small marks on the near side for free as he said it would be difficult to blend in paint on the flat panels without it being noticable at certain angles. I actually got a full quote £900 from chips away as was thinking of sorting a few other bits n boobs at same time. So full quote included sorting and treating rust and respray of offside wing and dent removal, repair of underseal and respray of offside sill. Total cost made me back away from it though as thats almost a 1/3 of what a full respray might cost. Now im thinking maybe fibre or carbon wings are a good idea instead of trying to patch up a rusted wing, painted to look original though. I just dont have the time to sort all this it at the moment and hate making snap decisions. If they had just scratched the wings i wouldnt have been that bothered as i knew they needed work but sods law they did just about everything but the wings!
-
Also becoming interested if they look and fit exactly like originals. Is there likely to be any chance of seeing a finished article before committing?
-
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Don't think I've got the time or patience for polishing them out myself, but sounds like a good idea. Can get my nail into must of the scratches though. Got quote from chips away, just under 500 to paint offside 1/4 panel and door, rear strip between boot and bumper and said he'd touch up and polish the 4 or 5 small nicks and scratches on near side. Going to give axa dent a try as i get 10 off through wotk. Paintless repair aparently, is that basically machine polishing?

Ha ha, no billzeebub, not up to anything i shouldn't have been. Would never have expected it considering where it was parked, it was in a quiet culdesac with mostly retired people living there, no demand for parking spaces, in fact not that many cars there at all. Definitely some randoms on way back from pub. They didin't bother with my girlfriends 206 so guess he/she had it in for Corrado's or VW's. Definitely going to report to police and get a quote before deciding about insurance as suggested. Trouble is they've spread their scratches around so many panels that once I start to look at getting it all sorted and add the more important rusty arches to the list it all gets closer to the cost of a full respray. which I definitely didn't have planned yet. Spent 2K replacing all the steering/subframe etc this year and engine work was going to be next. Anyone know a good spray shop near Reading? I've used chips away before who did a good job but think they were fairly pricey.
-
Parked at a friends house last night and found that my car had been keyed in several places all round the car :( Now I'm not sure what to do. Report to police and inform insurance? make a claim or sort it out myself? Anyone know how easy it is to repair scratches like this?
-
Anyone know if the bremi coils sold by eurocarparts are any good? I was after Beru really but my local GSF is out of stock.
-
What condition is the coil pack and leads in? also are they genuine vw?
-
Thank funk for that, i was starting to think i made the wrong choice in replacing all the steering gear this year when i should have invested in cam hamster retention! Bet VW hampsters aint cheap? thanks for the quick replies

Took all the intake pipework off today to clean it up and make sure there are no leaks. For some reason I randomly decided to look into the small pipe on the cylinder head cover where the PCV attaches and I saw what looked like a spring stuck in there!?!. Someone please tell me this is normal and serves some random purpose? although deep down I'm expecting someone to tell me something horrible like it must be a broken bit of a valve spring!! Its a VR6 and has been running ok apart from lumpy idle but it did do a sort of juddering the other day when starting to move off in a low gear. Can anyone shed light on this?

If you fancy trying something from a small independent producer try this http://www.ilzeschocolat.com/ Best I've ever had. Salted caramel truffles are amazing.
-
The halfords advanced one is pretty good. Multi stage charging and then switches to maintenance charge once full. Can't remember price but i remember thinking it was reasonable.
-
Just remembered about this thread and checked the box for mine and it turns out the previous owner bought the wrong ones. I've got 27181su which it seems are cone shaped not radius. Mcgard website seems to say 28018 radius are the right ones for Corrado 5 stud wheels Will probably just put the originals back on and not bother with locking ones.

Hi after both wings and possibly bonnet if theres no rust? (unless theyve already gone) EDIT: OK forget the stuff above, just read your earlier post How about the leather handbrake handle? I'll take that please if its still available and its clips are intact? Also interested in slam panel if its still available?
