New Uprated Headlight Looms Just £39.99 Posted With Original Connectors
GusPW replied to james153's topic in Suppliers Forum
I'd also like to get rid of the spades on mine too if you're able to supply the plugs. -
Enter saveme75 code and you'll get 7.5% off

Interested in the front caliper brackets, how much? and any chance of some photos?

Sounds like a bad idea to me, unless you upgrade the fog lenses at the same time. More light means more heat and that might just mean your lenses crack sooner and the reflective backing tarnished quicker. I know what you mean about annoying people driving around with fogs on all the time though, they're usually also the same ones with miss aligned headlights

Fans probably come on when you turn the engine off because the after run is triggered by the stage 3 sensor in the thermostat housing, or something like that. Same thing happened on mine when the rad wasn't getting any flow.
-
Exactly that, mine was doing exactly the same when the thermostat was jammed shut. As Jim said could be airlock or the water pump if there's no flow back into the tank when revving or the new thermostat was duff. I had a new vs one fitted a few years ago and it never worked properly until I replaced it for one I tested before fitting. I think it was only partially opening.
-
If the radiators not getting hot then it's probably the thermostat. Just change that, there might be nothing wrong with the pump.

yea, you've got to be quick with getting the cap back on when it starts to rise :-). I believe there should always be some coolant returning through the little pipe on the top. It's just difficult to see if your expansion tank is all grubby. Checked mine by opening the cap when cold, starting the engine and peering in whilst revving by hand on the throttle body.

Wow that took some reading! Don't bother giving someone £50 to read codes, get a £5 cable from ebay and download vcds software from rosstech and you can read and reset the codes yourself. Check the vagcom sticky post for details. I've had a crank sensor fault that has caused rough running and loss of power. It had put the ecu into limp home mode. For me it turned out to be the connector that had simply got water in it, dried it out with a hairdryer and sprayed wd40 in it just to be sure and it's been fine ever since. In short, if it's running fine don't replace stuff. Could have been an old fault code putting it into limp home mode, it's possible the garage cleared the codes hence why the problem disappeared.

Front spoiler bolts too Cheers
-
Black carpet/centre tunnel trim pieces: £7.50 Misc nuts/bolts/trim etc: £5 And these please.
-
I'd like the Coil pack bolts please
-
Don't know lambda part number but probably worth getting it scanned for fault codes before replacing stuff.

I have the 3 silencer version and although it's not too loud it does have a bit of an annoying drone inside the car at around 50mph in 5th gear.
-
I'll take em please, if for vr6 Pm me payment details
-
Isn't the 3rd sensor the black one for stage 3 fan? Maybe the American AAA engine had a different arrangement. Our maybe it's based on early vr6 with 2 stage fan set up.

Can't help with a spare but I'm sure they're still available from vw, they're about £50 though. Have heard people on here mention tandem bicycle brake cable as a suitable and cheap alternative.

Hi, How much posted for the rear boot panel and the mirror glass?

Parts list Website with diagrams...bloody brilliant !!
GusPW replied to scott1980's topic in Suppliers Forum
vagcat is similar but without the need for translation. -
if don't have a set of irwin bolt grippers then I'd add them as a valuable tool for any work involving bolts underneath the car. you might not need them but if you do they'll save hours of effort and swearing
