£250 for a badge, that utterly ridiculous. Does it add 50bhp!!! Just a VR with leather and different paint.....
-
They are an accuried taste but I like them as well. There a bit old school.
-
They were sold ages ago, looked at some TH Mono's but there going to be £600+ for wheels alone. Keeping the Speedlines and spacing them out a bit as the front wings need painting as well.
-
Well things have changed slightly, had a set of 268's, Eibach ARB's etc to fit but bottom end started going so I had to sell all that and also wripped out the leather interior to get some money to fix the engine. Was planning on going stripped out anyway. Back on Speedlines now and TBH I quite like it like that. The cars away getting fixed but I had a bit of a funny moment on the way down with the mpg...didnt think VR's were that good. Will update hopefully soon with some decent under bonnet action.

The Mk3 etc wont fit (I think) because of the retricted width in the Corrado bay. Ive got one but its 400miles away.

Is there a difference in sump heights bewteen the 12 & 24?
-
Strange because I had 8in ET30 wheels on with no rubbing problems on the rear and its lowered the same. Shouldnt be rubbing on the inside.

Nice, whats sort of power you looking at, 260ish? No LSD etc going in. Can you not run it decatted all the time as its a newer engine in a pre98 car? -
Rear or front? Have you had the camber etc adjusted since fitting the suspension? Its doesnt take a lot of adjustment at the front make sure you are ok. If it rear just take out the 5mm spacers and flatten the bearing dust cap with a hammer, it doesnt take much for the caps to fit.

A straight swap is fairly easy as long as you get all the door handles, switches etc. Seats just come straight out and door cards are fairly easy to come out. Just work through it logically and you can do it in no time. The hard part starts if the seats are electrically adjusted. So you'll be Jenks's mate?

I will have a head for sale pretty soon. The head has been skimmed, crack tested, gas flowed, and had inlet and exhaust port enlarged slightly, and all ports polished. The head has also had new tappets, new brass valve guides, new stem seals and all valves have been re seated etc. I bought the car recently but the bottom end is going so im going another route and will be selling bits from the VR including the head + loads of other bits including 6 branch etc. Let me know if your intersted. It will be available for pickup in the Stoke area within the next 3-4 weeks.

Just went through the whole build, fair play for doing all the work. I'll be honest I couldnt be that patient to take my time doing this. With a big turbo motor 4x4 is a necessary.

Very nice, they do look great in black. I would get some smoked side repeaters and change the wheels for something a bit smaller. -
Yeah thats what I was thinking as well. Not to sure on the extra stress on the wheel bearings.
-
Anybody fitted spacers to there VR with the standard wheels? If so what width did you go to to get a good stance? Im thinking 10mm front with 15 out back.

What you need sire is a motorbike!!!! -
Get a set of Bora wheels covers and I think they may look good, if you squint they kind of look line Audi monoblocks  . Just looks like the original alloys have been knicked and youve pout these on.
-
Bad luck. I will have an engine for sale soon. Its blowing oil on the overun although it doesnt seem to be using much. Not sure if its rings or oval bores. The head has been fully rebuilt and the chain etc were all done not that long ago. Let me know if your interested.
-
Do you just use the original VR flywheel for this conversion?
-
Bugger, was thinking if going for these wheels as well and wasnt sure on colour. Cant get them now you have them  What sizes are they as they sit perfectly. Going the same route as me, non of this bling nonsense. I thought they had the gay writing round the edge though? Missed out on a set of 17in BBS CH's yesterday :brickwall: Would love a set of TH Mono's but unsure on 16's or 17's.

Tis ok got it out tonight. Managed to get the seat loom out but what a PITA getting everything out. Done now so Im happy.

Basic spec means less to go wrong as well. Cheap and cheerfull.

What ive done and it works perfectly. Use and allen key then get the corresponding small socket and screwdriver attachment from your socket set on the small end of the allen key. This gives you more leverage to prevent the rod turning.
