How can I get my C onto a track without bashing the cash?
coullstar replied to staffs_til_i_die's topic in General Car Chat
So you want to get into track days but not spend money, dream on. They are expensive for a reason. £170 isnt that bad for a full day. Please dont go there just to race with someone, if you want to race, go racing!! You may be in a battered old car but some on there will be doing it for a bit of fun in their pride and joy. Not good if your brakes overheat and you end up spearing someone when trying to race them, seen it happen all to often. -
They are Sitlauto's I think. Nice BBS replica style wheel. Nothing wrong with them buy Ive got a better set to go on.
-
These are the only ones Ive got. Wheels are getting changed so if anyone is interested in these ones get in touch. I'll also be selling the K&N Typhoon filter thats on it.

I picked the car up at the weekend and its good to be back in Corrado ownership. The previous owner has spent a fair bit on the car and brought it up to a decent spec. He said the previous owner to him was on here and his username was GJE or similar but I cannot find it. Ring a bell to anyone or even the numberplate? Im just wanting to find out a bit more about the cars history.

TBH I dont really want a stretch.
-
Right Ive bought some 8in wide wheels and was just thinking about tyres. The car has 205/40/17's at the moment. My question is will these fit ok without too mutch stretch?

Bloody hell guys get your asses up here. Bascially every road north of Dundee or Glasgow are briiliant. Ballater to Grantown on Spey is great as is the Invergarry to Kyle road, Glencoe, Kenmore to the A9, Pitlochry to Braemar..........the list goes on. Too many bloody tourists though.
-
Excellent, thanks. Were you running coilovers as well?
-
Not even picked up my new VR yet and thinking about new wheels. I used to think 16's are the way to go but its currently got 17in on so Im sticking with them. Arch lips have been rolled as well. Im looking at some 17in Compo's, 8in wide however Im not sure on what offset I need to clear the coilovers yet not worry about tyres rubbing. Theres nothing I hate more than tyres rubbing on the arches. Also what size tyres are best? I have some 205/40/17's sitting spare to use.

Did an HPI check and its a CatC write off. Looks ok but Im not touching it.

Cheers guys, it has corrosion around the Corrado script so it sounds like thats where it coming from. I was going to get the tailgate resprayed and remove that badge anyway so that sounds good.

Going to look at a VR tomorrow night and I managed to get in touch with a previous owner. He had heard from someone else that has seen the car that there is water getting into th boot. Im trying to think of ways for this to happen and the only thing I can think of is the seal round the tailgate. Does anyone know of another potnetial area? Apparently the sunroof is leaking as well (doesnt work either), can the seals be replaced?

Hi guys, not been on here much for a couple of years however that will maybe change in the next week or so. Im trying to complete the "set" with a VR. Ive seen this one on pistonheads and thought is look quite good in the white. Ive contacted the guy and he seems genuine with a few other dubs in his fold. Anyone looked at it? If not anyone in the area that could possibly look at it as Im up in Aberdeen. Ive got my eye on one or two up here but I do like this. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/447841.htm

My Corrado History - New wheels, new pics
coullstar replied to Mystic Storm's topic in Members Gallery
Nice car, still wish I had bought it. If your ever selling let me know. -
I used to come on here a lot and have had every type of Corrado (inc the 8v) however due to work giving me a car allowance I was required to get a 5dr car. Since selling my last Corrado Ive had a Mk3 Highline, 16v and now have a Mk4 4motion. The Golf is absolutely brilliant and the 4wd is a big bonus however I still have a hankering for a VR Corrado to complete the set plus the allowance rules have been relaxed. Has anybody gone from a Mk4 4mo to a Corrado VR? If so did you regret it. Id be looking to swap mine plus cash so I reckon a car about £4500 is what Id be looking at.

Yep thats my old car. TomB bought it off me. I take it still going ok?
-
You mean like this. Ive already had a G60 in white. MMM.. its very tempting.

Going to look at a white VR this weekend that is completely standard. Just wondering if the white is an issue for people if they were going to buy a Corrado. Im not that bothered and quite like white as long as its clean. Also price is £3495 with 104kmiles, FSH, no mods and 12 months MOT. Does that sound reasonable? Any pics of white VR's?

Wurth silver wheel paint is the closest you'll get. Its easy to get a good finish for £30 all in. Just needs a bit of patience.

UK registered Corrado, rolled at the Nurburgring
coullstar replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Cheers, nothing planned as we are heading past the ring on the way back from Mugello from the Motogp. All the guys were just wanting to go for a gander but its I feel like its one of those things that you just have to do. Im not worried about myself going to fast but more by someone else taking me out. -
