I had decided to fit the inlet cam from my KR to the 9a and had a quick look at the cam last night. What I found was a chip out of the case harding on one of the lobes. This was probably done when it was in my garage and I am pretty sure its now gooosed. Is it?

The kit sounds what you are looking for. The cheapish sets of around £300 do lower the car and will firm the ride up enough for you to notice. Understeer etc will be affected by your camber etc but in general the car will handle better. In the wet it kinda depends on your tyres. Find out what springs they are using. I think Sachs are just the same as Boge which I have always found to be ok.

You managed to get some BBS's then. V.Nice. What suspension are you running? -
Did he ever say what the cost would be for the DIY chip? I might be interested as even 15-20bhp is reasonable. What about the torque? Does it move the band at al?
-
Artec p958's. They look a lot better in the flesh.
-
Chrome Caps now on. They actually look ok.
-
You should try the Busa then. It will snap your head clean off.
-
I can see how they may work but the problem is the big white dollop in the middle. The Touareg lights work because the white/clear patch follows the same lines as the car. Personally I wouldnt put them on my car let alone yours. Even if I was paid.

Would the above mentioned wheels fit ok with conventional struts? i.e. would they hit the struts?

its even worse when you see a couple in matching leathers  there is no way anyone is going to convince me that bikers look cool  whether its the hairy arsed mullet haired hells angel type or shrink wrapped racing bike rider type it just isnt a good look  If you buy a bike just too try and look cool then you deserve to crash. There are plenty of posing twats out there thats like too think they can ride fast. The plain simple fact is that for £4k you will never have as much fun with a vehicle (on the road) than a bike. As already mentioned its too easy to drive fast in a car and it is totally sanitised. I have yet too see someone on a post such as this, that has had a bike, and still thinks a car is more fun. I dont care if a car beats a bike round a track etc. When you have driven/ridden both then you can really comment on what is more fun. I have driven plenty of fastish cars and there is no way in hell that I could go faster than the bike or have near as much fun.
-
Im sorry but that Atom cost £29k and thats a lot of money for a play thing. How can they justify that price? The bike cost £6k. If you ride a bike properly you will have way more fun than the car.

Winter wheels now on and as you can see its defiently winter!! Wheels have been detailed black and silver instead of usual polished look. Chrome BBS caps on the way for the others.
-
Thats just a dark silver though! Just had a look on some of the websites and its a G40 engine (I think). Its entered under the 1300cc class for the Berg Cup!
-
Silver is the fastest colour!!
-
The A539's I had didnt even last a year of normal driving.
-
I decided to put the Estorils back on the car as the BBS are a complete and utter pain in the arse to clean at this time of year but before I did I scraped of the bubbling lacquer and painted the wheels. I detailed the inner spoke section with some paint that has gone all webbed in appearance when the lacquer was applied. What the hell has happened there? Will this dry like this and flake off when I wash the car? They are winter wheels only but I dont want them to be ultra scabby. p.s. any companies in Aberdeen that will refurb the wheels as I will probably get them redone after winter?
-
Thanks for the replys. Its kinda what I was expecting. I noticed the 2l does tail off a bit compared to my old 1.8 but 90% of the time I drive the car normally so its ok. I suppose its that last 10% where I am having fun that the extra top end is useful. What about fuel consumption etc? Any others changes? Got one sitting in the garage so it may be a good excuse to get away from the chrimbo TV and fit the bugger.
-
I know the KR inlet cam gives you more power in a 9A but does it change the power delivery? I like the mid range of the 2l compared to the 1.8 and I dont want to compromise this. Does the power band move further up the rev range?
-
Shit, your right!! Its the seats the bolts to the chassis.
-
It bolts down onto 4 bolts on the chassis if I remember right. Havent looked under my flat bench either so I take they are not there?
-
So.....how many 8v owners on here? ((echo))

I had a 94 with AMD remap, K&N and Supersprint exhaust and it put out 127bhp and torque was about 120ft-lb. Before the remap etc it was shit. Just felt too slow but I dont think it was in all honesty. Probably the most sensible and economic one to run everyday. I got rid off it and went for a G60 as I wasnt going to pay for the insurance for a car that didnt excite me. 2l 16v is far better. -
Saw one in Aberdeen on Wed night. It just looked soooooo good.

Na, Lagos Blue 8)
