  1. Yeah but you need to get longer bolts to compensate.
  2. So there is no gap between the tyre and arch.
  3. http://www.trackstore.co.uk
  4. Do a search for this. I think you need some new brakes hoses for the calipers but thats about it.
  5. My car was like this when I picked it up. I immediately changed the oil/oil filter and found loads of crap in the sump. I then got the metering head cleaned out and the fuel filter changed and all was well. Check all these things first before doing anything rash.
  6. What has been checked/changed? Timing ok? Fuel filter changed?
  7. Check the elecrtics/loom as well. Mechanicals are fairly easy for the laymen to fix/diagnose but electrical probelms (for me anyway) are a nightmare.
  8. I tried to get the Granada springs a few years ago from Ford but the part is discontinued. Try freeing the lever off by taking the caliper off and cycling the lever over and over. I did this and it worked fine. Otherwise save up and get some Mk4 rear calipers as they have this mechanism internal and therefore dont sieze as easily.
  9. Decided on a "spur of the moment" at luchtime to get it MOT'd and after no prep it passed after only needing a wiperblade. Im well chuffed!!
  10. I have a set that I am probably going to put back on as soon as I sell my other wheels. I was just referring to the fact that almost every set of Estorils wheels you see have the laquer lifting or are not in the original finish.
  11. Or buy my ones that are for sale!!
  12. I think the dull light helps as mine used to look a lovely deep red at dusk. Looks good. I see your wheels are needing refurbed as well. Try getting them detailed with the bit in between the spokes black. It makes a big difference. Has anyone got an original set of Estorils that are still ok?
  13. I reckon some 7.5x16" wheels would look great. Something like those Momo arrows (cough - see classifieds).
  14. Can you shim the metering head on the 2l to raise the fuel pressure as you can on the 1.8l? If you can then where on the metering head is the bolt that you take out as its not the same as my old 1.8?
  15. Cheers. Who manufacturers them for VW though i.e. BBS, Speedline etc?
  16. What is there offset and who are they made by? I dont have mine to hand to have a look at.
  17. Bloody hell is March the MOT month or something. Mine is due in 2 weeks so fingers crossed.
  18. Do you have coilovers? Might be close to hitting them.

    W8

I saw one last night in the local B&Q, four pipes an all.

    W8

Has anybody actually heard a W8?
  21. I just used some touch up pens. Took a wee while but after a couple of coats it was fine. Might be best to try something that you can remove easily first in case you dont like it.
  22. Completely Standard 2l - 133bhp @ 5950rpm (98atw) 134ft/lb @ 4550rpm Looking to probably get a KR intlet and thats it for now.
  23. A few have tried them on here with varying sucess. There is a guy on clubgti forum who has tried an MRC (specialist Audi tuner) chip and found it to be quite good. I contacted the guy about prices etc but he only came back with power figures etc. If you speak to them then let me know prices, fitting etc.
  24. I have tried an aftermarket wheel before but always liked my leather G60 wheel the best. Had it on my last three cars now.
