  1. I wasnt sure as they are a bit more boy racerish than I usually go but they do look good. 7.5" wide as well.
  2. New wheels and a bit of lowering.
  3. Yes its standard. ATW figures were 98bhp. I was expecting a little more as it feels faster than my old KR. Whats the standard torque figure?
  4. Mine only managed 134bhp @ 5950rpm and 133lbft @ 4500rpm.
  5. Last months GT Porsche mag had a tuned 911 called a 9ff with about 800bhp and it broke the production car top speed title at 250mph. Thye took it from the McLaren F1. Best in my eyes is still the 993 GT2 in black with gold centered BBS's.
  6. Does anybody have a RR plot (power/torque) for a standard(ish) 2l 16v Corrado that they could post up? I had one yesterday and its ok power wise but the torque seemed odd. It peaks about 4500rpm but then drops down fairly rapidly.

    Momo wheels

Got them on. Car is looking good.

    Momo wheels

I am 95% sure on the bolts. Its just the tyre size now. I have lowered the car ~45mm and I dont want to put tyres on with them to be shredded a week later by the arch. The wheels are 7.5x16" et35mm and they look like the tyres would catch the arch screws when going over big bumps. What does anyone else run for this size of wheel?

    Momo wheels

So nobody runs 16's wheels then?
  10. A car has to have reflective red lenses on the car. IIRC the Corrado are on the inner lower part so if you just spray the lights like mine (only the upper half) they are perfectly legal. These still flash orange.

    Momo wheels

Just got back from a 400m drive with some new ebay Momo wheels but I have a sneaky suspicion that the wheels have a straight taper bolts. The guy said he ran them on his Mk1 with normal bolts and stupid twat me believed him without checking. It was just when I got them home I noticed? Does anybody else that has Momo wheels get special bolts or know if they need straight taper? Also the two of the tyres need replacing soon and he has 215/40/16's on but will 205/45/16's be ok as I am sure they will be cheaper.
  12. All you have to do is spray the top half becasue the reflectors are in the lower half, I think.
  13. Wheels are such a hard choice as they have the most visual impact on the car. I like simple, classic designs like BBS, Borbets etc. I like to be a little different but you dont want to look like a Max Power twat. The Corrado suits a slight dish on the wheel. I just sometimes go with gut instinct and it seems to work. At the end of the day you can always easily change them if you dont like them.
  14. Is it definetly true about the springs caps between the Corrado and Golf being different?
  15. I used the JOM ones and they were fine. Only lower 10mm though, not 15mm as stated. Is that true about the corrado as Ive just fitted some springs and its a tad too low at the front. Got some caps from a Mk2 Golf so fitting them would raise the front?

    Momo Arrows

Anybody got any pics of Corrado's with Momo Arrows on?
  17. You bugger. I really fancy a G60. I think it the perfect Mk2.

    Side strips

Still going to sell those wheels?

    Side strips

I a thinking of taking the side rubbing strips of the car but I am not sure it would look ok due to the light colour. I do think it looks better on the darker car but on light colours I am not sure. Whats everyones opinion? (now had clear side repeaters)
  20. Don't think that's true, it's getting the air in that's the problem, exhaust gasses (to a certain extent) will get themselves out due to the heat and expansion. Exhaust ports need to be shaped well and not have any bad steps in the flow, e.g. between head and manifold joints, but it's the inlet that gives the most gains if done properly. You have to remember that the exhaust ports will soon soot up with deposits anyway, it might be true that polishing them will help to prevent this a bit though. On inlet ports bigger is not better, because you will eventually just lower the gas speed and torque. What you need is better flow and port matching together with removing casting marks that affect flow. I reckon on a DIY job where you don't have experience of porting and flowing heads it's best just to clean up casting marks and make your manifolds fit the head smoothly, use the gasket as a template and match the faces. David. Just repeating what it said in PPC. Makes sense to me either way but they may be meaning to leave the inlet rough finish to introduce more tumble/swirl. I know there is much more to it than that but I cannot remember thier reasoning.
  21. And only do it on the exhaust port as well.
  22. That cam was actually once in the engine of TomB's car. I think I'll play it safe and not use it.
  23. Ditto. Looks just like mine when I bought it. Could you take a pic from the side please. I am thinking of getting the Estorils refurbished as I think they really suit the silver. Are they showing any signs of the lacquer lifting? What exhuast is that?
