Yep, its my old car. Looks like it needs rescued, if not I have some spare silver bits!!

Not looking to do this intentionally but Im going to look at one as a wee project and just wondering if it all goes tits up how much hassle it would be to break. Pretty much what I thought.

How much of a ballache is it and what sort of parts are generally left over? Im not looking at the VR, just wondering.

How long is it roughly? 1:11 would suggest about 40cm but it doesnt look that big.

Cant see it but if thats the Topgear one I would take it with a pinch of salt. The rear room is fine and so it the boot on the Beemer, they just feel smaller when you sit in it. Ive had a Mk5 Gti as well and done fine the beemer any less practical at all. R32's are nice, but for the MPG and running costs I dont think they are worth it. Hell I get the same as or better mpg in my RS4 and its a hell of a lot more practical!! If your happy with the R32 mpg I would take a look at B6/B7 S4's as well then. Very practical, well specced and awsome V8 sound. Had one of them as well and it was great.

You get 5dr versions dont you? Ive got a 5dr 120d.

123d to add to the mix. Handling on the 1 series is sublime, there less common than the poncy Audi's and they have a decent amount of room. Plus RWD = fun as Im finding out.

Drivers side seat belt clip/anchor?

I dont see why the Pirelli is worth more, only pay extra if you think you will get this back if you sell. The wheels look cheaper than the Ed30's and the ED30's seats are again nicer IMO. Standard Mk5 is a good car, probably just a bit quicker a-b than a VR. Ed30 is the wise choice, only issue for me is that they dont come in any of the blue colours, the Mk5 looks best in blue. ED30 engine has quite a few differences compared to standard GTi engine, all for the better.

Add a G60 3rd gear to and its even better apparently. Sounds good. When I start using my car again I will do this, in fact I might do it as its sitting doing nothing at the moment.

Your doing well getting above 30mpg. Ive had two and it was 26mpg average. 4wd and weight come into play compared to the Corrado 12v engine. I think they are the best all round Mk4, they just need a few little tweaks.

Was going to say Ultima as well. I wouldnt fook about with the Corrado.
