  1. yes, that is how the electric windows work on the Corrado, odd but I guess you get used to it
  2. also could be the relays which are behind the rear doorcard. If you dont hear any clicking when pressing the switch then you need to get a multimeter on them to see if they are getting any power
  3. you want this: http://www.tapes-direct.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=996 i used it and it works a treat.
  4. Yup the 16vG60 is by far the most documented (but they use the G60 block). I also read about someone using a lysholm charger Edit: just found it Anyone ever use something like a newer Rotrex? (guess you would have to fab your own bracketery)
  5. haha..that is brilliant.. JOHNNY FIVE IS ALIIIIVE :)
  6. cheers dude... just to check, they still have the lock barrels in (so i can salvage the tumblers) ? if so, let me know what you want for them posted to me? thanks H
  7. Cheers dude, I'll see if I can pop down to the stealers but I had heard the same as you and thought there was no chance they would give me them for nowt. I'm sure they want something silly for a bag of tumblers...I'll see.
  8. anyone watching mythbusters? - they are trying to elevate a mk2 Golf with water pressure from firehoses lol ok..they just did it, looks hilarious! based on this..
  9. Hi, Anyone got some spare lock tumblers? Ideally taken from a broken or missmatched set of door handles? I need to retumble one of my locks but have no spare tumblers to swap over. Also looking for the rubber gasket seal along the front leading edge of the bonnet (I have an actual ad in the "wanted" section if you need to know what im after). thanks!
  10. no worries mate, 'twas cheeky of me to ask :D
  11. Wow, this is turning out to be an awesome turnout. One thing I have been thinking about recently is getting someone to help find that odd squeek and rattle in the cablin. I am sure you have all been driving about and "that" annoying squeek comes up. Problem is you cant figure out where the hell it comes from as you need to really be in the back seat (they all come from the back in my car!). Soo... can we organise a "de-squeeking" squad for when we are all at Stealth - people can jump in the back of the car and identify where the damn noises are coming from as the car is being driven? May also help pass some time as everyone waits their turn for the rollers!
  12. as usual, this is awesome work. Can you simply provide the cardboard cutting (or a copy of it?) so people can try and re-create it themselves from some sheet metal? maybe get people to donate to CF forum as way of compensation? :) I fully appreciate it takes ages to work all this out and get it working just right, so if it isnt possible then no worries. cheers
  13. i used scapa rayon tape http://www.scapa.com/en/products/3380 http://scapatapes.net/uploadfiles/other/200961241462345.pdf
  14. I have a set of fully refurbished solitudes with brand new (0 mile) Hankook Ventus V12 Evo rubber on them (195/50/15). Wheels have never been on the car after the refurb and were also waxed to seal them and make them easier to keep clean. They also come with new genuine vw/bbs (carbon fibre) centre caps bought from TPS. the wheels are finished in "black chrome" not the usual silver the OEM wheels came in. The hankooks set me back £170 (can provide receipt) and obviously fitting and balancing was extra on top of this. The wheel refurbishing was £160. Let me know what you want to offer me for them if you are interested. I am also based near Heathrow (W.London) if that helps. cheers H
  15. :) ahh the memories.... document the journey, i mean maintainence in the member's gallery. That way it keeps everything in one place and you can just add to it if (when) the next big job you need to do comes up! http://the-corrado.net/forumdisplay.php?16-Members-Gallery
  16. is the original OEM headlight loom plug still intact? If so, grab some H4 bulbs and put them back into the headlights and then connect the original loom into the unit (basically bypassing the HID ballasts, bulbs and any other non-standard wiring) If that all works then you can narrow it down to faulty ballasts or other wiring.
  17. there is a guide on matey matey forum: http://www.matey-matey.com/g60-rebuild-article.shtml
  18. thanks for the pics, always useful for reference!
  19. took me about 30 seconds trying to figure out why on earth you had bananas come through the post.... then scrolled down and realised they were the seat bolsters! I should bloody know as well - i got a new one sitting in the garage waiting to go onto my driver seat. good job getting the car back on the road mate. As for the big bits of metal - are you 100% sure they are metal... lumps that big would make me wonder how the car is still running. Get a magnet on them to see. Also as mentioned, try and get one of the magnetic sump plugs, i have an ECS one http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=6807&xSec=86
  20. sounds good... but can you get some photos up as i am finding it hard to understand how this works/looks. cheers
  21. If something were to go catasrophically wrong at Stealth and these cars were wiped off the face of the planet, i bet VW would feel a significant impact on their yearly balance sheet! It would be interesting / sickening to know how much all the owners had fed the VW parts department to keep their cars on the road! I'll leave you with that cheery thought lol
  22. i just did lamin-x on my new fogs and headlights - well worth it in my opinion and adds that extra layer of protection. Just a little fiddly getting the corners done any further details of where you got the steering wheel retrimmed from - looks good and the perforated bit would go with the rest of my interior (redone in perforated alcantara) cheers
