  1. I can't say for sure but I'd imagine it's just an improvement on the power benefits similar to obd1 to obd2 conversion. The obd2 restricts top end in benefit of bottom end power and improved torque curve, with the variable intake I'd say you'd get the top end power of the obd1 but with bottom end of obd2 and then from what I've seen a bit more power overall.
  2. I can't say for sure but I'd imagine it's to do with whether it's simplex or duplex, think its early vr6 is simplex late is duplex? And the 24v is simplex
  3. I told you, they arrived at mine the other day! All you need to do is tell me which ones they are and I'll drop them off...
  4. My mate used iron-x on my wheels the other day, they had some sort of dirty coating I could not shift despite many attempts with power wash, scrubbing etc. The iron-x stuff is the worst smelling stuff I've ever come across but we used it on my wheels they came up like brand new, was pretty shocked at how good it was. Properly weird stuff though, spray it on (clear liquid) and the wheel starts bleeding! Then wait 5-10 minutes and jet wash off.
  5. Yea its easy, just take the hoses off, undo the 3 allen head bolts and the full lot comes out. Just check the seal between the head and housing is good, I usually put a smear of sealant on to make sure it doesn't leak
  6. Similar sort of age, don't know polo ages but the one I looked at had a similar arrangement, just need to grab one and compare next time I'm at scrappy
  7. I did take a look at a polo heater control last time I was at scrappy but didn't have time to remove it, looks similar so thought it might have same cog which be a hell of a lot cheaper for parts and easier to get hold of
  8. I'm with you, I've just about got it drawn up in 3d as I had the same idea, with a bit of extra meat where it usually fails. Intended to draw it up then get some prices, so I'll await suggestions if anyone knows where to get it done
  9. Totally agree about the sound, I plan on going from 3.2 to vrt in my rado in the future just for the sound but in a mk4 with 4wd the drawbacks outweigh the benefits. Have you priced up a standalone Haldex controller? They are more than forged pistons!!! Unless you want to go down the cheap route and fix it to a certain ratio. If you love the rado why not sort handling, lsd diff, poly bush, anti roll bar or consider 4wd? Be a shame to break a rado, could always put it back to standard if you really really don't want to keep it?
  10. Physical size I doubt it, I'm sure it's been asked before so there will be an answer somewhere but valve cutouts definitely not for obvious reasons. If I were you, id stick with 24v in mk4, although you had the fully forged engine so would be easier, I reckon it would be cheaper and less hassle in the long run to uprate the 24v engine to forged stuff and keep full functionality of the Haldex system
  11. Sounds good, it's a weird feeling, when I'm driving along at 30mph it feels like I'm on and off the throttle pedal. Had a look today at it today as it's been blowing, sure enough one of the 3 bolts on the exhaust flange needed a nip and it's tonnes better. Going to replace all the gaskets and that should be that although I still need a proper downpipe making
  12. Coxylaads is a 3.2 so a good option, basically a full mk4 anyway (dash, loom etc etc). As an option you could try get hold of a 3.2 block (similar to the one sat in my garage), use the 2.8 crank, which will bring the compression down and turbo that. Dunno if you've heard of it but guy over on edition called Stanton built a 'zombie' mk4 r32t with I believe a mk4 r32 bottom end and 2.8 head. You could still use the mk4 pedal box if you wanted to go dbw, kev aka haywire ran dbw on his vrt.
  13. Looks good that, what did you use to get it looking shiny. Mines a right state!
  14. Is that early bumpers or just front bumper? Does the bonnet line up with the wings OK? Around the lock in the door handle is it raised or flat?
  15. You added another fuel cell in the boot or something!? That's better than my diesel daily!
  16. I've got a red car to use as a demo for your wheels and carbon parts ;-)
  17. Urgh, too late to the party. Third dibs :(
  18. That is absolutely fantastic power output, would be over the moon if I saw those figures from mine. Out of interest did you sort that slight hesitation? Mine seems to be doing it while cruising at low revs (havnt got a tacho yet so don't know rpm), like you say it's like being on and off throttle causing a mild kangaroo effect. Also what rpm converter are you using?
  19. I can't quite see in the picture but there should be another wire a little further towards the engine which if it is there might be your oil temp, unfortunately with it being a conversion it's difficult to say what colour does what without unplugging at fusebox end.
  20. Hehe, traffic was pretty bad and I'm still not 100% confident one of my wheels isn't going to overtake me so took it easy but a 740 beemer decided to play and well... We both didn't have a problem. Car looks awesome though, looking forward to seeing it on the road
  21. Depending on who's done conversion it's 2 of 3, oil pressure hi/oil pressure low and oil temp. The 24v only has 2 places for sensors and the corrado needs 3 so you need to tee it off. That's a crap way of doing it, you can get nicer looking ones from ebay/demon tweeks or splash out and get a t2.5 tee piece from heritage. It's just an m10 male- 2 x m10 female sensors
  22. Those the brackets you need identifying? Top one goes near coilpack on left hand side as your looking at it. Second one clips over abs pump and clips to a resistor Third one is a Headlight dimming resistor I think, goes behind nearside Headlight... I think
  23. Urgh, I had it in the back of my head it sounds like what herisites had, it seems to have a hesitation lower down then carry on pulling. I have read somewhere its a problem with the ECU software and that audi updated it but they didn't want to admit there was a fault so havn't called cars back, fortunately my cousin is a VW tech so might be able to get a software update. Setting off I seem to have to lift the revs and try catch the clutch right otherwise it kangaroo's or wheelspins. I had intended to let vince sort the throttle out, spoke to him last time I was down there whilst a guy with a mk2 r32 was there.
  24. If you are going up sat I might come with you, depends on time though, need to do my gf's brakes on her crappy clio first thing
  25. It's a completely different car, throttle needs remapping as it's almost impossible to set off but power band is awesome. Been out with my mate and he says I'm driving it like a diesel. Havnt sorted the tacho yet so don't know what rpm I'm at, keep changing lower down thinking the power is going to die off but it just keeps pulling. I think the exhaust is blowing on throttle so I'll get it jacked up and look for evidence of leaks
