  1. Believe you are meant to report it to the police mate. I hit a dog that run across the dual carriage way, fortunately it got up and carried on run in front of other cars, I reported it to the police though just in case.
  2. do you know the part no for the batt cover. been meaning to get one but I think there are 2 different sizes
  3. Just an update, Checked the fuses they were fine. Got the coolant cap off with a hammer (nice tip) and the coolant was below the minimum so topped it up to max. The coolant light now stays off. I had a check for any leaks but couldn't see any so will have to keep an eye on it.
  4. Haven't been in the car for about a month, so I thought id better give the ol girl a drive today. Battery struggled but started the car first time after a couple of slow churns, gonna charge it overnight. The coolant light decided to come on and flash, so I decided not to drive it. I went to check the coolant but could not get the damn cap off (Ive got one of the nice brown coolant resevoirs where you can't see the level from the outside). Is it worth trying to heat the cap or is brute strength and mole grips the answer? Is it likely that the coolant level could have dropped due to cold weather without being driven as I do check it regularly? The owners manual also states it could be the radiator fuse, so Ill check that tommorrow. If the coolant level and fuse are ok, is there anything else worth checking?
  5. Looks really good. What colour was it to begin with?
  6. I think the answer is to return them and get a refund, together with your costs for posting back.
  7. Ive tried, using deep freeze pipe freezer from B&Q (same sort of stuff) and it did not work on my Ford Scorpio.
  8. I think they only did one option but the colours do vary from car to car from pics Ive seen, and depending on how dirty/worn they are. Got any pics?
  9. My car failed on the emissions when I first got it. I changed the oil, air, and fuel filters, the spark plugs and put some redex, injector cleaner in the petrol and gave it a good hard drive before the mot. It passed easily. As others have said a faulty lambda and a defective cat or no cat can cause problems.
  10. How about some pics of process and the equipment used/end result ? Interested in giving this a go
  11. my door has still got the original membrane which goes over the whole door. Is it leak proof by covering just the bits as you have done?
  12. For me the standard one looks better hands down with the big exception of the ride height
  13. Mines gone through last 2 years with nothing required, despite the ABS light being on.

    door cards gap

Could you try gently prising the plastic cover up a bit and over the top of the card?
  15. I don't know what they are new but you can get them used for around £15 and they are really easily to fit yourself. I am no mechanic and did it.
  16. Try admiral. Mines £320 FullyComp but with a 5000 mile limit.
  17. I used wet and dry on my lips as the lacquer was peeling. If they are diamond cut use fine paper as you will still retain the diamond cut. I use metal polish on mine and didn't bother relacquering them as it bubbles way to easy.
  18. There are many colour combinations I like, but I think if Id bought the corrado new, Id have gone for a metallic black with cream leather. I don't recall any on here and wondering if anyone had some pics of some just to see if it looks as good in the flesh.
  19. spotted a dark blue valver in the car park at ashford cineworld on sat night. left the cinema at the same time and it seemed very quick for a valver (i was in my focus though).
  20. First thing I'd do is a pressure test on the coolant to rule out any leaks. Any White smoke out of the exhaust suggesting it's getting into the combustion chamber ?
  21. Thats Bang out of order, what a C**K. As you say, its even worse that the car park is virtually empty. It annoys me when I park up in a car park with plenty of spaces and before you can get out some knob parks in the space next to you :gag:
  22. Like others have said, you can get white smoke when the car is cold due to condensation. This is more common on first startup in the mornings and in colder weather. It should disappear when the car is warm after about 10 mins. You can also get mayo on the engine cap in cold weather especially if the car has sat for a while. This is normal and isn't headgasket failure. If the mayo is always on the cap and the oil looks like chocolate milkshake the headgasket has failed/leaking causing the oil and coolant to mix together.
  23. I've got a 160k vr and it's quiet, dosent use any oil or water and have not had any problems with it bar the usual jiggles which aren't engine related. I've had other 200k mile cars with no problems.
