Due to time and lack of funds I haven't got round to tackling this yet but am ready now. Im thinking of buying a new elbow and seal from the dealer. Can i just undo the existing one and put the new one on, or do I need to drain the coolant? Anyone else had a leak in this area?

around £30 Id say

Decided to have another look under the car tonight at the coolant drip, but sods law it wouldn't do it. Whilst under the car I noticed a drip between the join on the exhaust after immeadiate start up - anything to worry about? Anyhow I took the car for a drive to see if it would cause the coolant to drip after the engine was hot. The oil temp gauge on the MAF started to go up as normal and got to about 70degrees then started to go back down all the way to the 3 dashes, its never done that before. Restarted the car but made no difference and wouldn't register a oil temp. Got back to my house and left the car idling and the oil temp reading worked again and registered the right temp. Was this just a glitch or could it be related to the coolant loss. Looked under the car again and could see no drips, but looked under the bonnet and there is some liquid by the radiator elbow. Could this be the coolant leak or just condensation (it was bone dry before I set off as I made sure to look). Ive attached a couple of pics. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDsc03971b.jpg[/attachment:112pkuqb] Dsc03972b.jpg[/attachment:112pkuqb]

The light has come on again Grrr :mad2: I couldn't find an obvious leak, so used some cardboard under the car. The leak appears to be at the front middle of the car. I can see a continuous drip when the engine is running by laying on the floor but can't see where its coming from. I haven't got any ramps etc but can jack the car up with the standard jack. Any ideas on the likely source?

The other day I noticed the rubber seal/trim down the driver side of the windscreen had bulged out. I duly pushed it back in. I had a new windscreen installed when i first got the car about 3 years ago. It was done by a mobile unit. Anyway I had a look around the rest of the windscreen to make sure everything was ok and noticed there is about a 2mm gap at the bottom of the windscreen on the drivers side. The plastic trims near the wipers does not lap over it. Is this likely to let any water in (haven't noticed any) or is it anything to worry about. Don't know if its always been like this or gradually moved over time  Ill post a pic shortly

Forgetting its a scam for a minute, why would you pay a courier a grand? if he wants to pay more than the asking price thats fine. Also why would you release a car until the cheque has cleared? Surely no one falls for this shit. I would'nt even bother replying as they will try again in the future as it will flag up that they nearly had you once and will try again. -
Ive got air con and thats where my ABS light is.

The quality looks superb considering the price. They would work as a mountain bike helmet cam yes? Perhaps need some sticky tape.

What was the Z like mate?
-
LOL on the wooden prop. Ive got one myself on the drivers side. Ive got a regulator that i might get round to putting in this summer. You can pick a used one up for around £30.

Thats quite a lot of gunk for condensation. Has the car stood without being driven for a while? This, combined with cold weather can cause a milky build up but Ive not seen it as thick as your pic. Any white smoke at all out of the exhaust?

You seemed to have had some bad luck, but looks like you have got it sorted swiftly. The bay looks very tidy and Im liking the wheels. Nice corrado!
-
looking forward to the pics buddy. I want to do the same thing but from black to beige.

you should be able to close the sunroof manually by removing the cover on the switch and using an allen key.

Its a £60 fine when I got one last a while ago. Generally 3 points will not affect your insurance premium, six points will.

Payment sent :D

What you need is the talc to mix with water on the belt and make yourself a nice paste belt :D Seriously it does work though, it stops instantly but the sqeaking soon returns :(
-
Two please for me as well.
-
I Initially thought it was my belt as I had an aftermarket one. Swapped it for a VW/continental belt and it went away for a while. Soon returned and it turned out the tensioner itself was fooked.

Looks very tidy. Wouldn't think it was the same car after the polish, Nice!

So am I right in saying the insurers would cover the costs of damage caused to others if the accident was my fault? Just I wouldn't get much for my car (assuming FComp insurance)
-
Do you have to notify the insurers if its a Cat D then? Ive never got an HPI check done on mine as it was a fair price and it wouldn't have stopped me buying it anyway. Don't think it is but I guess it could be. I don;t remember the insurers asking if it had ever been written off.
