Theres usually some on here, ed38 and good ol flea bay. I had one that was really badly stained and sprayed it metallic silver and it looks really good.

Mine is smooth throughout the rev range. However I would definitely say the power comes in at about 3.5k revs and above.

just bought my first corrado (pics attached)

Nice find and a bargain. Where did you get it? -
I liked em in gold but agree they are even better in silver. I think they would look even better with the chrome look BBS centre caps. Was sorely tempted by the RS301's but alas could not afford them at the time :(
-
Did you ever sell the RS301's ? assume you had 2 sets one with gold centers and one with silver?

Had the same problem in the same location. It was the air intake in the scuttle panel blocked with leaves and the seal had perished. REplaced with a new seal and some sealent for good measure and its been fine since. Deffo check that first.

I got mine from my VW dealer. about £15 I think for the colour and lacquer set.

Thanks for the replies Guys, and Wow is all I can say Carpoid, very comprehensive. Abdul, Im not sure about the width, Ive got some RX's which I think are 6.5inches wide with an ET of 42. Does the width of the wheel affect the offset as well? I like inch thick rims, anymore looks a bit too bling for my taste. Im starting to realise there are a lot of variables to consider

OK. Im up for getting some BBS RS wheels preferably in 16inch for my VR. I know only RS301's come as 5x100 so Im going to need adaptors. I think the minimum size would be a 20mm adaptor so if I had a wheel with an ET50, with the adaptor that would make it ET30 right? What would you guys say is the minimum ET number to fit to a corrado. I don't want them to stick out too far and would like them as close to standard offset as possible (ET43) Is it possible to get RS's with high ET numbers like 63?

Ive still got the original door speaker grills, is there a Knack or technique to get them back on because Im having trouble. Managed to get one on, but it dosn't seem very secure. Got f**cked off with the other one and have left it till I calm down :mad2:
-
Im no mechanic either, but removing the door card is very straightforward, just don't miss the hidden screw in the speaker hole. Ive never attempted to remove a door card on any other car, but with the corrado things like this become necessary sometimes. In a way its good as it give you more confidence about tackling different jobs.

furnitureclinic would be my choice too for dye.

I had an ST24 with leaky valve stem seals. I drove it for 20000 miles without issue before I sold it. If it is valve stem seals you will normally get the worst puff of blue smoke in the morning when the car is started for the first time from cold. If it is valve stem seals the car will be burning oil pretty much all the time but it won't always be visible out the exhaust when the car is warm. How is your oil consumption?

Ive got Autoglym leather cleaner which is good and Gliptone conditioner which is good too. If the seats are worn and cracking rather than just dirty, you could try spray dyeing them which will bring them up like new.
-
You can pick up plenty of used ones without dents for £30-40 but unless you are lucky will probably need a respray in your colour.
-
I found they come off quite easily but leave behind a sticky residue. This is easier to remove if warm.
-
If there was a car in between you and the camera, you are ok as it will pick up his speed not yours. I also understand they have to have a clear picture of your numberplate to present as photographic evidence if need be.

The best battery would be well over £100. I got my bog standard one from partco for 45 but my car is standard without a lot of ice.

Think he will disappoint himself. No way can he as good as he was. He's older and out of practice. He went out at the top and he should want to be remembered that way.
-
Im thinking of getting some of these to replace the original vw door speakers. Does anyone have experience of them? Will they be a noticeable improvement over the factory ones? Will they fit ok (read some 5.25inch speakers are slightly different) or should I just stick with what Ive got  I gather the best benefits come from bigger speakers which need doorpods, but I want to keep the doorcards standard.

Not sure about the valver but my oil temp readings on the VR6 is about 112-114 when driving hard which is normal. Peeps with MOcal oil coolers will obviously get cooler temps.
-
yes they just lift off. They are originally held on by some tack adhesive and you usually have to heat them up with a hair dryer to help peel them off.

Done a few google searches and apparently paint edging can be caused by the paint drying out differently on filler. Its called paint edging and on mine it looks like a ridge around oval shape blobs. You can only see it in certain light conditions but its bugging me. I think you guys are right about the prep, because it normally occurs if the paint is sprayed on when the filler isn't completely dry. It cost me £500 to get the front end resprayed and some quite big dents sorted. The rest of it looks ok but the bonnet isn't good enough. I don't know whether to get him to re do it or take it else where. I have also noticed some paint chips off the cill which he must have done when he jacked the car to remove the bumper and Im worried he might cause more damage due to his obvious lack of care. He wants me to pay for the paint (which I don't agree with) but if it only costs me another £40 to get it sort, cest la vie? Obviously he might screw it up again - quandry time

Bit off topic, but I also use taffy for parts and as you say he is very helpful :D

Had the front end of the C resprayed recently with some dent removal. Im not happy with the finish on the bonnet as it has some bubbles in it which you can see in certain light conditions. I spoke to the guy who did it and hes told me its because of the paint drying out differently around the filler and causing edging. To be honest in the places where its doing it, it didn't need any filler. Hes told me its unavoidable but has offered to do it again but ive got to pay for the paint (£40ish). Its also got some cat like scratches in the paint. Are there any paint sprayers out there who can confirm thats what has happened and if its easily avoided. Personally, I think he should have told me it would happen before he did it.
