  1. No you misunderstand, what car did you have back in the day?
  2. You know there are some people who still haven't swapped out their dead ignition switch :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: Just be grateful you managed to get the screw out. I swear someone has threadlocked mine... I might just drop the whole column when I change the PAS rack.
  3. Ah, just me without the knowledge then! :brickwall: Sc0rian were you on No-Rice back in the day when Alex Ball ran it? Vaguely recognise your username... 20vt Mk2 wasn't it?
  4. From Supercharged's reply, I'm guessing 1993? 1991 is the newest I do!
  5. Yeah, VAGCAT ftw.... I'm not too sure how many people will have B4 Passat knowledge on a Corrado forum? p.s. Welcome to the mad house
  6.   OMG, I was thinking the same.
  7. I thought the shell was stripped! Still seems to be some good bits attached to the bulkhead  Thanks for the early black doors and tailgate glass btw  :notworthy:
  8. Two 1991 Corrados wouldn't have both the 1.8 and 2.0 16v engine as standard... just the 1.8 :salute:
  9. Look at the top right of the window, little search box like you would find on search engines such as Google, although this one just searches the Corrado forum. Very very useful :salute:
  10. If there's lots and lots of movement (an obvious clunk clunk from side to side) it's cos the race isn't seated properly. Did you drive it down to it's limit with a suitable drift? I've forgotten to do that before and the wheel moves a LOT from side to side.
  11. I guess if your ABS doesn't work then it's not a huge issue, but as it's quite a hi-tech safety system and it's fitted as std I'd prob want it to be working properly. Also, dead ABS might be an MOT fail? Not too sure on that one though.
  12. if you're referring to boomy exhaust noise inside the car, then lagging the manifold will help keep it quieter, but you will prob have to lag the whole manifold and maybe under the car a little too. That's quite a big job, and you'll ideally want to take the manifold off to do it.
  13. the 50 will net you 1-2ish hp at the top, but due to the wider inlet tracts (which mean the intake air velocity is reduced) you will lose a bigger chunk of torque from the midrange. the cam has a fair bit more lift than the standard one, I think people are quoting around 15hp from the cam alone, but worth checking out for yourself. p.s. the search is your best friend.
  14. No probs. Check on ebay for exhaust manifold, you should be able to use one from a Mk2 Golf 16v too. Downpipe might be a bit trickier to find, but good luck!
  15. CrazyDave, your car is Crazy. I have a good engine bay picture on my phone :luvlove:
  16. @ tidy garage... you're not doing it right! Car looks mint though, check out those inner wings  Have you tried the CCGB forum? unfortunately you have to be a member to access it, but maybe someone here might post up there for you.
  17. Yeah.... sorry about that :cuckoo: I guess I don't hate life enough to want to kill myself
  18. sounds like you have a heavy duty engine mount there, they are a little stiffer than standard and as such they absorb less vibration but transmit it to the cabin! There should be manifolds that will fit the Corrado 16v, you might need to ring around some places to check. The downpipe to manifold join is a MOTHER. I have never ever seen anyone manage to separate it properly. If I were you i'd find a second hand standard manifold and downpipe if you can't find a stainless one that fits. hth, Jon.
  19. Disc should still seat properly without the ABS rotors/cages, but you really should have put them on the back of the disc before you attached them to the stub axle.
  20. do a search buddy :brickwall: you can do the KR cam mod if you're handy with spanners, and your car will come with the 42mm inlet unless someone else has put a 50 on.
  21. Oops! Easily done with pearlescent paints though mate, don't get yourself too down! imo, touching up anything other than the flat colours (white, black, red, yellow) is asking for trouble....but then I loathe doing bodywork!
  22. green bulbs though... seriously.... I thought that's what Novas were invented for

    loose caliper

How tight are the carrier bolts? They can seize pretty badly, which would make you think they're done up fully when they're not. Might be worth triple checking. Also, in which direction is the slack in? Maybe your guide pins have worn, simulating slack in the caliper.
