Imagination time: Corrado colour schemes you like
boost monkey replied to boost monkey's topic in General Car Chat
Kate, that's more satin than matt hence the subtle glowing reflection of the lights off the bodywork, I think they either use a duller agent in with normal black paint or they put a special lacquer over matt. Either way it looks pretty good. -

:notworthy: my next wheels! Not in that colour scheme though, although blackberry with matt black CH's :luvlove: Awesome Rob, that will look really good. Hide the brake dust too :norty: I've seen them in Red/black on a black Mk5 Gti and it tied in well with the car's bodywork and obvious red detailing. I think matt colours show off design lines well, just like a clay sculpture would for example. Here's a greenun from the tex: As you can see, it is easy to spot all the lines on the car. I find Satin Silver and White Cs can show their lines well as standard. Dark colours are more reflective so tend to hide their lines. -

VWSpares lists them as 2.15 KG when you checkout hence my "guess" :salute: -

If by Timing Chain Kit you mean: Chain - upper and lower, Tensioner - upper and lower, Guide - upper and lower then my guess is 2.15 Kg  -
Black wheels on a black car is SO GOOD  love the touches of red too in the calipers and rear lights. Glad it's turning into the machine you were hoping for, Jonathan :salute:

So, my car has started making a knocking noise when I pulled away recently. Hmm. First thoughts (without inspection) were rear engine mount was going as the sound was coming from down by my feet. I was unsurprised that the mount was going as it is still the old setup. So I check it today and it's fine. Odd  Then I remembered the car would hesitate also when pulling away and liked stalling a liiiiiitle too much, so I had a look underneath: Doesn't look too out of the ordinary, but has ~1" vertical play in it. Not sure why that is: there are no hangers this far up the car (that join is downpipe > centre pipe) so I think the clamp has just given up and the sealant has long past bought it. Dug out an old mk2 Golf stainless VAG exhaust clamp and I'll pick up some sealant tomorrow :salute:

Unpimping das auto is the best thing you've done all thread :salute:  Look forward to further updates

it's the rad fan run on, it should be connected to a sensor on the bottom left corner of the rocker cover. There's a thread on this somewhere, I just can't find it at the mo.

Gargh  no idea what other engine would have dished valves unless it's a 5cyl 20v Audi engine from back in the day (hence the close-up shot to cut out cyl 5  )

Interesting Walesy, I think Cs get looks everywhere they go, they're pretty rare after all. Maybe you live in Corrado Central or something! Yeah you'd prob need balls to camo a C, but I think more iconic cars like a golf can pull it off. Anyone seen that Skull themed Mk2? looks awesome I reckon. Looks like it was a Redeye sponsored car or something. -

I'd camo a Mk2 Golf, but I'm not sure I'd want to do it to a Corrado. I think the longer sleeker lines don't work with camo as well? That said someone will probably do it / has done it and it looks good  -

Love those old box audis, good find Steve! Sounds like it's paying you back already  -
Is it worth going to massive trouble just for some rusty old springs? I would have thought Hammerite was more than up to the task.
-
Hammerite has rust protection built in y0. David, Hammerite will be fine. I've done ARBs in it before and even though they flex less than springs do, it's pretty fluid stuff unlike powdercoat.
