  1. For the sake of all things sweet and pure, will someone PLEASE PUT A C IN THE TITLE!!!
  2. Not even gonna bother ripping this apart, you can spot a fake ad a mile away
  3. dolphin grey  sounds as good as it looks! thought it looked a bit light for Atlas.
  4. I think Acquired has a c in it  Nice car too, is it Atlas?
  5. I didn't realise teaching kids how to colour in paid so well, Kazza!
  6. I guess space is a bit limited in engine bays, but if I had the space and the money, I would design THE inlet system 8)
  7. B*llocks. I've been on the phone with the guy buying the jetta and forgot about the PAS rack! I can't remember where exactly it was, but it was only £35 and would have been a good find! Cheers for your offer anyways, KIPVW 8)
  8. Porting isn't always the best thing for all parts of an engine. For example, the 'step' between the engine exhaust ports and the manifold is actually very useful indeed in pulling exhaust gases out of the cylinders, due to the swirl of the gases as the valves open. Also, I've just finished an engineering report on the head loss across pipe fittings, which basically entails how much flow is lost when comparing a straight pipe to seven different types of bends. 90 degrees are evil. That's all i'm gonna say. The rest aren't great either!
  9. Please also see my thread on the G60 Intake System. Of course, it's all opinion with some engineering thrown in :D viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60298&p=708069&hilit=+efficiency#p708069
  10. For those without an FMIC, the story will probably be slightly different. The heatsoak through the black plastic piping from the engine bay plus the radiator fan coming on and blasting hot air over the heat-absrbing pipes will probably mean that the intake temp will still remain at anything from ambient to 50ish degrees. I know that Prodigal's charger's inlet manifold used to burn your hand (almost) after a good hoon, but after he got the standalone oil supply the manifold maybe hits 20ish degrees? so there's a massive intake charge temperature difference there. There's plenty of stuff to do to these engines to make them more efficient way before you think of FMICs etc. @OP, what spec is your G60?
  11. PS is a blag master extraordinaire! I'm looking forward to sunday, for at least one reason... :D
  12. Is there anyone in Sheffield area that might be coming down for the cheshire meet on sunday? I've found a PAS rack which I might need on the bay but matey is saying it's collection only, and Sheff is like 3hrs from me :/ Auction ends @ 8:30ish, so no point replying after this. Cheers, Jon.
  13. What, you cut the scene with my hand in?!  *stops looking for accommodation on Broadway* Seriously though, that was a lot quicker that I expected. And I thought we were gonna miss the WRC! :D
  14. My jetta makes this car look like a sill-scraping low rider...
  15. You should check the split ring configuration in each of the outer cv joints to see if they are the same size. I don't have any pics on me i'm afraid, but sometimes VW used different sized retainer ring things, not too sure why.
  16. What kind of information are you looking for? Intake temps at cold? Intake temps at normal operating temperature? Intake temps at full throttle? Intake temps at idle? Intake temps with/without phenolic gasket? Intake temps at throttle body? Intake temps at inlet valves? /engineer mode
  17. I'm 25, 3yr NCD, no points or prangs and I just put £500 down with Martin @ HIC for a pretty boggo KR powered Raddo :D
  18. depends whether the motors are dying or not. if not, you can grease the rails to speed them up a little bit, and take some strain off the motor (Prodigal did this last night) and you can clean the moss/mould out of the window seals so that the friction force from those is reduced? see if you can find out whether the motors are dying though, do you have a multimeter?
  19. Was it something like this? That must suck :(
  20.    C L E A N
  21. brrrr, that was icy :( Maybe there's only 12st of me to lug about!
