Good work mate! Glad you got that idle sorted, it's one of those niggles that's so annoying and has you preparing in advance for every red light! :( Your car is pretty fine I have to say. If i hadn't sold the jetta, I would definitely have had VR plans for it. :notworthy: -
Hmm, how much would a new VR6 have cost if I hadn't found and replaced your dodgy front caliper bolt, eh? :notworthy: Would you like cream on your humble pie, Cazza? :-P
-
Hey! it's not our fault your car only idles when it's underwater! I hear you ordered some more pot to remedy the situation, is that completely legal?
-
Good work bro! Ignore the stormtrooper  Glad you got it all sorted now, is it back on the driveway? Your mpg can only go up from this point! or you could say #thiiinnnggggggsss caaannnn onnnnllyyy geeetttt bedaaaaaaaaaa# :D :D :D

Ah fair enough then, at least intake velocity will be higher on the 42 8) On the MS, A lot of people I know use pretty much all ford parts on their engines, but none of them are running it on a VAG car, so i doubt their info would be much help :(

All Corrado KR engines came with the skinny manifold IIRC W T F      that is beyond lame. Awesome thread though, keepit coming! /end hijack.

When are cars NOT money pits? I must have owned almost 20 in the 6 years i've been driving. You never make money back on them, that's why I justify them as a hobby / career! There are pretty much hidden costs in any car work whether that be time or money unless you completely chequebook it out to a company and tell them to do it. -

Pound for pound, you can generally build a car that has better specs than production if you know what you're doing. Would you rather have a £10k shopping car like all the other lemmings, or something you made and something you can fix just as easily? Winnage. -
This thread gets two thumbs WAAAAY up from me, but I can't understand one thing: Why is your inlet manifold the little skinny one and not the 52(?)mm one normally found on a KR? :(
-
Is it a whole new MOT as it's been 10 days since the first? they might charge you re-test rates or something as i doubt the OK stuff has broken.
-
I got a pair of 16v shafts and 239mm hubs on the bay for £40 i think, if that helps as a ball park figure?

How to fit a quality Miltek exhaust.........go to JMR!!!
boost monkey replied to jedi-knight83's topic in Suppliers Forum
Is this an old pic? I'd swear it has a 16v G60 badge on now. -
From what I can tell from the OP: The car was bought with glassed sills, Matey's local garage then said this was an MOT fail, and would need either to be metal patched or complete sills replaced, Matey is asking whether he can take it back to the garage where the glassing was done and get a refund, even though *he* didn't own the car at the time (Correct?) Please let me know if any of this is inaccurate! So the question is can Matey get the sills done properly by the old garage, I don't think he is moaning about having the sills done, it's more about the fact that they're glass and not metal. Make sense now?

Woah, that tranny tunnel is massive. is that a bog standard corrado floorpan (i.e. do they all look like that?)

Winnage is in sight bro!! Soon we will have 2 in the family to troubleshoot...
-
Yeah that sucks, but all will be well soon enough. I am confused about why you're so chuffed that your mk2 started up after a week...I mean, it IS a mk2 not some ropey wagon??

if you know the material the butterfly, screws and spindle are made from, and the peak air velocity in m/s through the butterfly I could calculate the minimum safe thickness you could have the spindles if you like? or is that too geeky?
-
oh yeah, as Daz said injectors are batch-fired so scrap that. But if you could fire them individually it would be complete intake control.
