Just how rusty can a late Corrado be...this rusty!!

Also, what car is your brake servo and MC off to make it seem so different to the others? I'm 99% sure mine is just a mk2 item, but then being an early 16v that's not very surprising :)
-
The 16v head flows better, and opens up the engine in the top end. It all depends on your driving style. The 8v should be more torquey in the midrange.

doesn't the cat make it smell of eggs?
-
The vehicle is from 1987. Surely the speedo cable is more likely to be mechanical like my one.
-
Steve, that was almost as bad as your FB status updates!!

ressing this cos I can, and because after almost 3 years... ....I would still dip my Corrado :D

get a good shell, borrow some wings and make fibreglass copies. Start a "group buy". Pay for the rest of the car :D -

this makes me very scared for the Plum... :pale: -
have you tried soaking the ISV in carb cleaner / thinners / petrol overnight or for a long time? that can work wonders if you've just been spraying it through and attacking with a brush. Yes, 1.8 16v owners know all about the pain associated with bad ISVs!

I'm trying to talk the missus into getting a mk2 gti for "our" first car. I think the whole "but I have so many spares for the corrado" is a good angle, plus the classic insurance of £190 per year for us both. She's into the mk3, likes the curves or something. The 16v is the only one I'd go for, the VR is too much. Shame I can't get a mk3 on classic insurance! Heard lots of bad things about reverse going on the mk3 though, seems a common thing. Fook doing any more gearboxes.

isn't the TPS a little sensor on the side of the throttle body? Don't know much about the VR intake but I'm sure someone else will chime in soon enough.

you can flip a bare C shell with 2 heavy duty engine cranes and some bracing :D

Chip Fan and RAM sold to JMC.

I do not understand the engineering reason for the red. Is the red pigment less heavy than the black? seriously though, what made you go for the red interior?
-
Sure, I will PM payment details :D
-
Or you could just get one of these: but then, where he's going you don't need...roads *flicks futuristic sunglasses down* :D :D :D :D :D :D

Is that CazzaVR's old black 16v?
-
Just popped the case open, and the ram is the later XMS2 (blue logos) not the early XMS2 (purples). Looks like this, not as above:
-
You got it Dec :D sorry for the tech speak, just helps those who are as nerdy as I am to understand things plain as day :)

i'm the same with timing John, can be quite a worry!

   are they grinding the cams from blank billets or something?!

Sure no problems :-)

Hi guys, recently upgraded my machine to a quad-core. Not exactly cutting edge, but my CAD program is optimised for multi-cores and I'm hoping to start some big assemblies soon so I bit the bullet. Below are the bits I don't need anymore: Intel Core2Duo E5200 2.5Ghz Dual Core Socket LGA775, 2MB cache, 800Mhz FSB I used to overclock this up to around 3.3Ghz but my motherboard is too cheap to be stable so I've been leaving it standard for the last year or so. It's a 45nm die, so runs really cool. Don't think I have ever seen it pass 55degrees even when stress testing. Twin it with a good board, and you can run 3.4Ghz no problems. Retails for £50 still, looking for £25 posted. Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 LP Socket 775 The cooler used for above, nice and slimline although it doesn't keep the chip ultra cool. I had a huge Copper Zalman CNPS9700 but that's gone on Prodigal's Q6600 as it was melting the case. It's a decent enough cooler, won't blow the socks off anything. IIRC one of the clips is bent, but I will confirm when I dismantle it. £7.50 posted by itself or £30 posted with E5200 Foxconn G31MX Socket 775 mATX Motherboard Let's not fanny around, this motherboard is the cheapest thing I could stick the chip in and it's not worth very much at all. The transistors are too low quality to get any decent overclock out of it, and the G31 chipset is pants. But hey, it works, I'm using it now and it's been used for Crysis and a bunch of other games in the past so it can handle itself. I got about 11300 3dmark06 score with this setup and a 8800GT. It has Integrated VGA chip (Intel GMA 3100), SATAII headers, PCI-Express, onboard 7.1 audio, etc etc might be good base for HTPC. £15 posted Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2-800 5-5-5-18 RAM Corsair performance memory, has some headroom for clocking if that's your thing else a good matched pair of sticks to boost your machine with 4GB of last-gen ram. £25 posted SOLD Midi Tower Case in Black Been hacked up on the side and the front for extra airflow (engineers, tch!) and only cost me £15 new a few years back. £Free (collection only) All pictures are from the internet. Real pics on request.
