you have PM for address details :)

cool thanks, I'll see what I can do about shipping the block :D need it asap!
-
any ideas of block dimensions and weight? Have just sorted out a courier to pick up some front wings for me. Also, could you throw in the oil cooler in your "mix" items for £5?
-
omg emu, you have the 3 parts I need for my dry sump dissertation: VR6 block with crank, oil pump, oil filter housing. Any chance you can post all 3 of these? It not, I will just take the pump and the OFH. DId you not see my Wanted thread? :s Let me know. Jon

good priced paperweight if not!

Seems they have hiked the price :( IIRC when I got mine they were less than £30 for both sides. Not sure if factors do them, unfortunately.

LOL! Sounds like it could be an engine mount to be honest. Test for clutch is low speed and high gear. Put your foot down in 5th at 30mph. If the revs go up and the speedo doesnt, you need a clutch :D
-
yeah the OEM VW hardware items will set you back the same as if not more than a set of coilovers these days. I have VR6 gas shocks all around on the plum, and including the dampers it must have cost about £400 perhaps?

his was just an unplugged sensor. -
How long would it take you to recoup the cost of the panels through increased fuel efficiency alone?
-
That does sound a little low. Have you been playing with the metering head or WUR? Not sure of the 2ltr had that or not. I've had 30+mpg out of my 1.8 16v and we all know it's a shed.

if someone wants to give me a working C, I'll go. *quickly emails all 22 people* -
That's quite a jump to instantly swapall the mounts, and the coilovers are probably not set up correctly with wrong LSB/HSB/Rebound settings or spring rates.

Another oxford person that I've never heard of!!

good luck with the sunroof, and welcome to the forum.

Hi guys, I know it's not strictly drivetrain, but as I'm guessing 97.2% of people mount an engine on a stand through the bellhousing/gearbox bolt pattern I thought this would be the best place to ask. So, can anyone help me with this? I just need to find the thread and pitch required to mount the block on a stand. Did a search, but didn't find anything of use. Thanks, Jon. p.s. do I get some ham as a reward for longest thread title?

Wow, you put it so respectfully, I wonder why no-one has given you a proper reply. As a newcomer, you're not going to do yourself any favours acting that way. You have already said that the fuse you are looking at is 2.5A where the original is 10A. Yeah it may work at 9.6A max, but do you really want to run it on it's breaking point? You can easily calculate the power etc of the fan motor by looking at the motor itself (it's the big metal looking bit on the back with the wires :D) The squeaking means that either the bearing needs more lubrication or it is on its way out.

You can't get a touch up set from VW, or are they obsolete now? Less than £10 iirc. comes with the OEM lacquer too.

the camber is crazy, but the car is nice :D

Pushed the wedding back a few months. Was getting too stressed with trying to finish uni and plan for it at the same time :/

No-one has mentioned injectors. Have you checked those?
